Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, Maybe.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6.Flash the keyboard fix and Cam fix
7. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
8. Reboot your device.
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the deivce, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

The face unlock function is broken. That function in Pixel Exprience is broken too. I installed this ROM in the hope of being functional :crying:
Edit: By searching for "android 8 face unlock stopped working" and related, I found this: github.com/opengapps/opengapps/issues/555
By reading this post, I found this comment, and after flash that zip file, the Face Unlock is fully functional:
"KKire commented on 10 Jan
Facelock-all.zip
I modified the script to work on all devices becuse it was failing on my OnePlus X.
Thanks man, running on 8.1
Original zip by subinsmani"
I don't know if I've permission to share this file, but information is information, and my job here is done.

Don't know what's the problem for you
buT here comfirmed by a user that volte is workin
Amazing job, super estable and exceptional battery life, it has the best battery life of any Oreo Rom I've tried so far.
Now, I've got a HUGE problem with the GPS, it doesn't seem to see, much less lock on any satellite, I've let GPS test on for about 15 min and nothing.
And I would love if you can get the long press on the power button to start the flashlight, this is a minor annoyance tho.

The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device
Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache
Flash ROM Zipfile
Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional), I personnaly recommend magisk
Reboot to system
The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)!
Supported root solutions:
Magisk v13.x
SuperSU - stable and beta available (Site by CCMT that took over the the marketing from chainfire)
SuperSU - direct download link for the latest SuperSU directly from the dev (chainfire)
Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version: 14.1 arm or arm64) -> the removal zip is available here too.
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows Omni source with many additions/changes
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

FAQ:]
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, the next official release will be on Tuesday around 6:00am (Eastern Time).
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. I don't offer support for bugs you might encounter using them.
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports while using it as Xposed can cause a lot of bugs.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You need to use the version arm64 sdk 25.
Q. What's the difference between the experimental builds, and the official builds?
A. The experimental versions have experimental code and features, I update them usually when I'm testing something new and I think that others might want to try it too, or when something needs to be tested, for example my experimental builds had the new lineage browser, and the PA color engine long before the official builds had it. The official builds only have stable code and are updated automatically every week. You can switch between both whenever you want
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post..
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs, also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.

A. Settings->Navigation.
Q I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip in the substratum folder in the internal storage.
Q I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A Check this out, if that doesn't work for you ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just flash Magisk again!
Q I'm having issues with whatsapp, how do I fix it?
A Read this
Q Does Dolby Atmos work?
A Yes, get it from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342
Q. Do I need to provide a log if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a log.
Q. How do I get a logcat, and what type should I get, and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog
This is a work in progress guide to getting great battery life
Note: This guide is meant to be used on my kernel, there's several optimizations that I've left out of this guide because I enabled them by default in my kernel
1. Underclock the big cores to 1900mhz
2. Set the GPU governor to simple_ondemand
3. Set the vibration strength to zero (or close to zero) in the misc section
4. Set the default I/O scheduler to noop
5. Go to developer options and turn off the logger buffer sizes (you will have to turn this back on in order to get a logcat for bug reports, and to pass safety net)
6. Use greenify to enable aggressive doze and doze on the go, and use it to limit background apps
7. If you underclock the big cores even more in kernel adiutor you'll get much better battery life, you'll also get much better battery life if you underclock the little cores to 1440MHz
8. Turn off all animations in developer options
9. In kernel adiutor set the low memory killer values to the aggressive setting
10. Disable fsync (risky, you could lose data if the system crashes)
11. Use the suspend actions in aicp extras and turn off the ota checker
12. Use privacy guard, and the wakelock blocker in aicp extras/system extensions to block wakelocks
13. In aicp extras/ various ****, enable sensors block per package
14. Turn off WiFi before turning off the device, otherwise it will have issues going into deep sleep
==================================================================================================================================================================================================================
This is a work in progress guide to getting great Performance at the expense of battery life

1. Go to developer options and turn off the logger buffer sizes (you will have to turn this back on in order to get a logcat for bug reports)

4. Overclock the little cores to 2188mhz, and the big cores to 2342mhz
5. Disable fsync (risky, you could lose data if the system crashes)
6. Enable ksm, and use zram for more free ram, good for gaming
7. Set the CPU governor to wheatley

Hi, i am using this rom and well its good, the ovreal performance of the rom will improve in the future but i have an issue and that is because the Magisk is preinstalled on rom i can not sign in Snapchat. Maybe a suggestion to make either a superSU preinstalled or no root and user will have to flash or install whatever he likes afterwords...
Thanks ?

My test builds have experimental changes that might not appear in official releases for a while, or ever if they're not stable, my test builds do not show up as OTA updates, if stability is your main priority I would recommend staying on the official releases unless if you're testing a specific fix or something, but if you want all the latest features, fixes, and improvements before they're deemed to be stable, then the test builds are for you

6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, it will be every week on Thursday
A. You will need to use the version arm64 for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...

Yes, you can use magisk to pass safety net even when on permissive though, enforcing will be ready eventually, it's just a low priority right now as there are some major bugs that still need to be fixed
Definitely am waiting for your next kernel for the camera fix and then flashing it on to my phone. I'm constantly hitting refresh ?
the camera is working on the current build
BlackScreen Oreo thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/kernel-8-x-blackscreen-pro3-aka-zl1-t3698177
Confirmed opengapps nano work. I also see the heating up and throttling, so far still there after 10 minutes. I'll probably do a reboot soon and see if it gets better.
Builtin Camera does not seem to be working on first start, see attached screen shot. Well try again.
After flashing and rebooting from twrp, the phone hung on the leeco screen for minutes. I was worried and tried to force shut down, but it rebooted and then successfully started AICP. That was weird, but it seems to be working normally now.
I love the brightness preview when using the brightness slider.
This is all not meant as criticism. I'm so happy to be able to try this. Thank you so much for all the continued hard work.
Phone is pretty hot now just from writing this - rebooting.
My phone doesn't feel hot but the camera looks as above. Can still usually take photos point and shoot with occasionally having to leave the app and start over.
Sample
After rebooting the heat issue is gone and lagginess is gone. Maybe some process hangs after the initial setup?
All in all it feels really good already, very usable.
The builtin camera preview is still messed up, but the camera does take pictures. I briefly tried Open Camera; it just crashes with "serious camera error".
I know it's super minor at this point, but casting to Chromecast does not work.
Not able to pair with my skullcandy BT headphones for some reason.
Edit I'm an idiot. It might help to enter pairing mode since it's a new connection. Tried 2 other devices and did a dirty flash again without success before I realized I need sleep....
Also I tested the alarm (phone on) and it worked fine.
Night light doesn't work.
Double tap on status bar to sleep doesn't work.
Video attempts cause app to crash.
Audio plays fine via speakers but after connecting with BT and playing then disconnecting BT then audio won't play via speakers (Spotify or google play music - the files won't even process) but reconnecting to BT allows audio to play again. ===> Edit: I haven't been able to recreate this.....
I appreciate that the status bar indicates when a BT connection is present :good:
Update: these are all only quick tests, but I find the following to be working:
* Calling and receiving calls, but only with the built in app, the Google phone app from the play store crashes on start
* SMS
* GPS in maps, I only had to calibrate the compass once to get direction
* Pairing Bluetooth headset and using it for a call

This looks promising, I will definitely try this out later.
Just one question, as I see Shreesha mentioned, is this rom based on his lineage tree?
BTW, we got a Discord server going for the op2, come and join if you feel like discussing.

Rom looks good, but the SIM card reports as missing even though it is there and the network works. What doesn't work is voLTE w/ TMobile, but that may never work with these Oreo roms. They are slick enough that soon I may pick one over stock rom, even though it does run voLTE and wifi calling.

3.5+ hours SOT with WiFi and standard usage. Not great, but not too bad also.
April 23 build of crDroid and Lineage ruined my phone's battery life and I couldn't connect to cellular data anymore. I'm booting into aicp for the first time right now. Must say, that's the best ROM bootanimation i've ever seen!
Edsit: nope doesn't work either. back to crDroidAndroid-8.1-20180409 I guess
Thank you for the rom but I notice the signal is not that great. On my Nexus 5x no problems with the signal but oneplus 2 having no reception. Any Suggestions?

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look here to see what day your device is built on.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels officially?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Xposed is not yet released for android 10.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the flashing instructions...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Thanks.)
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android 10. You don't need to install any Add-ons, simply download the latest ROM and GApps, then follow the flashing instructions and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine though.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, and Data (you might need to format the data partition!).
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure may vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once! This might differ on AvB Devices.
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions >= 17.2 don't usually need to be flashed on every dirty flash.
Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise, you should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
TWRP recovery is needed to be able to flash using the built-in OTA app.
Please make sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery, keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!
On encrypted devices you will have to enter your PIN/password in TWRP before the process starts.

We need to increase safe battery temperature because quick charging just turns off when it's 36°C.
Second, the main screen is 1 pixel bigger than it should. I mean, the smaller screen have 1 pixel less than it should also. And where the fk are setting to disable fullscreen apps, because apps under camera are weird and why it's not enabled by default. Dev, come on. Great work anyway but you should do something with that screen.
I got near 4h SoT on LTE+60% Bright

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and then changed to be based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
We changed again for Android Q with a base of AOSP repositories and some additions from LineageOS for device specific repositories.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out, if it concerns our code base. This ROM isn't LineageOS supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
