Hello,
i own a Hannspree SN1AT74 (HSG1279) for a while now and haven't used it for some time. Activating this unit for some ideas ends up with a huge problem.
When i power on the device i see for some seconds the green Hannspree logo, than the screen gets black, the logo reappears and after a short while i end up in the Android system recovery.
Code:
Android system recovery <3e>
20140812_EU_H101H00
Volume up/down to move highlight:
.....
I am able to use all the 6 menu items and have done this a lot. As a result of a wipe data/factory reset i get the following:
Code:
storage integrality checking, please wait....
checking failed, error= -1
-- Wiping data...
Formating /data...
backup_dataUserfile
fopen_path /system/etc/excluded_recovery fp=0x7755c

E:open =/cache/inv_cal_data.bin fail
E:failed to mount /data_bak (No such file or directory)
restore_dataUserfile argc=0
restore_dataUserfile exit
Formatting cache
Data wipe complete.
When i do a wipe cache partition i get:
Code:
-- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe complete.
</CODE]
When i start to install the Hannspree stock rom from SD-Card i got always
[CODE]
-- Install /mnt/sd-ext ...
storage integrality checking, please wait....
checking failed, error= -1
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package
E:signature verification failed
E:unknown volume for path [/mnt]
Installation aborted.
Whatever i have used i get the same like above, sometimes with
Code:
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
Connecting the tablet to USB does not work, i have tried different cables (and checked the cables before) and different computers. The tablet is never recognized, so adb is not a solution.
Any idea what's to do next to fix this problem?????

The phone can boot into Download Mode and Recovery mode. I've been googling about this problem for like a week now. the first attempt that I did was using Odin and downloading the *.md5.tar for my phone. It gave me several errors:

UPDATE: While I'm attempting to restore the *.zip update with ADB. The process goes to:
loading update.zip
sending update.zip ?? % (with underscores spazing from left to right)
and then looking from the phone.
it says:

Try using different USB cables and USB ports to flash with Odin. I also recommend using Odin 3.07 as that has always worked for me.
Borked recovery. Flash back to stock is the best option but if that is failing then you don't really have much choice.

I did borrow an original cable from my friend. The error is still there. I also tried plugging the cable from the rear usb port.
But thanks for the reply. I hope that others can find this helpful too

Hmm.. "Borked recovery"? You mean that every command / operation that the recovery mode is performing are being blocked by the system itself? or you mean by errors in files inside the eMMC? There is no proof that the eMMC is damaged because it can boot to Download mode and recovery mode. I am still wondering if the recovery, download mode have their own eMMC.
BTW is it "ok" to use an SDHC for recovery image (selecting "Apply Update from external storage")? bcoz its the only one I have ATM (and no cash)
I am willing to go for SD card as an internal memory for the phone. I've read many articles about running your phone from SD card if the internal memory. But with one disadvantage. Read and Write are slower than eMMC. As much as I want to perform this operation but I don't have JTAG or other tools to start with. I also don't know what resistor to short.
Hi all,
I'm very new here and I hope you all can help me unbutton my phone.
So I have a Samsung S3 I9300, with CM 13.0 installed, I'm using CW recovery v2.7.0.0
I have installed many custom ROMs for this device over the last few years without any problem, each time formatting and cleaning the Dalvik cache etc.
Today my phone restarted randomly and a message came that my phone failed to encrypt and cleared all my data and that I had to restart on recovery to perform a factory reset.
A bit random I thought .. So I rebooted in recovery and did a "reset to default" in CW .. this was successful, however I noticed some problems on the terminal screen ...
Code:
E: Can not find partition size for / boot
E: can not find partition size for / recovery
E: Primary block device / dev / block / mmcblk0p12 to the mount point is not present!
E: Internal storage can not be mounted
E: Unable to mount / data / media during GUI initialization
E: can not mount / cache
SELinux full support is present
E: can not mount / cache
E: can not mount / cache
E: Can not mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps when trying to read the settings file
E: Can not mount / data
Updating partition details ...
E: can not mount / efs
E: Can not mount / data
E: Can not mount / data
E: can not mount / cache
E: Unable to mount / system
E: Can not mount / data
E: Can not mount / pre-load
E: Internal storage can not be mounted
I tried to format but it fails.
I can not install another ROM because both the internal memory and the SD card show 0MB.
I plugged the SD card into my computer and there are still files on the card.
I had a look online and found that typing a command in the terminal should fix it, however, nothing happens ..
I get an error that mmcblk0p12 does not exist.
Code:
mke2fs / dev / block / mmcblk0p12
Note: Feel free to give any suggestions. This is a fu*ked up device, I want to try one last time before throwing this device to a corner.
Hi, I have a Micromax A311 Device and I'm unable to restore backup, or wipe the system it throws "Failed to mount '/system' (invalid argument)". The Error 8 occurs whenever I try to repair any partitions (system, data, cache). I tried to search for TWRP Error 8 on Google but couldn't find any thread on it. So I'm asking here, if there is any such thread exists please reply. Any suggestions on unbricking this device would be highly appreciated.
These are some of the problems I'm facing:
Internal Storage shows 0 mb
Cannot mount system, cache, or data
Cannot wipe, it throws "Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid argument)"
The size of partitions (data, cache and system) is 0 mb
Repairing partition doesn't work, it throws error: /sbin/e2fsck -fp /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 process ended with ERROR: 8
