it can be fixed, recent discovers have been found to fix it (nothing illegal for sure) and it can envolve hardware or software mods...you choose: software wise is just unlock bootloader, and flash a kernel wich have only 4 cores running and you never go into bootloop, or you can do a reballing in processor but that cost money and a specialized person to do it...
and if you dont want to do anything you dont know just buy a model with a March 2016 and above date of assembly and you will be fine.
Mine is from March 2016 and i have this phone since july 2016 and never have a bootloop or problem with it.

you may have to have the box in your hands to know the manufacture date, its printed along IMEI and other numbers on the outside the box.
Only that way you will now that your phone probably wont have bootloop problem.

go to playstore and search for some "phone info" app and some of them will tell you the manufacturing date, i hope you can do returns with the seller because if the phone is bellow that date i already tell it may have go into bootloop soon, or not...because who knows if already have been fixed and you are buying a refurbished one already.

its possible, but i think you variation is a dual SIM? if this is true then you will lose the second SIM function since the verison you want to convert is single SIM.
you can do that with Uppercut and the KDZ from H960 (all avaiable in this forum, just search).
i didnt recomend it, because you will lose some feature (dual sim) but if you are sure you want it, then just do it.

Hi Folks,
Just looking for a bit of advise. I have messed around with rooting and unlocking my phones in the past. I have always just followed guides here or youtube etc so not really having an clear understanding of the potential pitfalls.
I have imported an LG V10 from South Korea and overall am very happy with it. However for some reason it seems to be locked for international data roaming.
Can I get past this by flashing a UK or European firmware onto this phone when they become available ?
What device ID's or Radio's do I need to match etc or basically what do I need to watch out for. This phone can't go back to be repaired if I break it so want to make extra sure its worth it.
Thanks in advance for any help
Cheers
Chris

why you are saying "locked for international use"
Korean variants are free for international use. Tell me your problems

it always depends if fm chip builted in S808 inside your variant it was phisically enabled or not
i always wonder why manufacturer would add more work physically disabeling something that just do a commong motherboard and then just lock it on the software side or not.
is there an adroid app that could find/see what chip is on my version? (considering it s installed or not)

would be interesting if you set it to true , you get the fm on

Ok so long story
I bought an imported LG600S from a guy on eBay who had imported it directly from South Korea I believe direct from SK Telecoms.*
This phone appears to be unlocked for any network here in the UK. *I am using a 3 Hutchison sim in it at the moment which I get calls and LTE speeds. *I have also tried a UK Vodafone sim in the phone and that works fine too.*
My problem appeared when I went to Paris France. My contract gives me unlimited data even when roaming abroad. *However in France the phone would not allow me to switch on data networks. It gave me the warning message which I have attached. *I click the accept tags but still the slider for data network was blocked (grayed out) with a message saying I needed to contact Mobile T Roaming and gave me a link to a South Korea customer service centre . *I tried to call it but obviously I don't speak Korean *
I have tried an unlocking service called unlockscope who gave me a number of codes for my IMEI number. *However none of these codes worked as the phone does not prompt you for an unlock code when you swap sims. *They also gave me a few number strings to put into the dialer to try and force it to ask for a code, however these didn't work either. As an aside the unlockscope company has offered me a full refund and we're very good at trying to trouble shooting my issue. *
So now I am a bit of a loss as to what to do next?*
I need international data roaming for work but can't figure out how to unbarr it except maybe for flashing a different *on the device firmware to get round the block.??*
All help gratefully recieved! **

Yes you can BUT.....
yes you can but your radio problem will not solve i flashed H900 and H960 firmwares on my v10 (f600s ) every thing wifi blah blah worked except the signals there were no signals and in about network status it shows "radio off". you can only flash dz in your v10 download kdz of mentioned models and convert them to dz via kdz tools and then refirbush.
WARNING>>> I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING HAPPENED TO YOUR DEVICE. I DONT HAVE ANTIROLL BACK PROTECTION ON IF YOURS IS ON YOU MAY KILL YOUR DEVICE.

So, its mean still possible to cross flash/convert from korean variant to international, all working except signal?
Or, can I flash with another korean varian? For example now I have V10 LG U+ (F600L) to V10 SKT (F600S)? How to do?
Thanks

yes you can test if u want at your own risk I also had f600s and now I am using the latest nougat firmware downloaded from here "https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v10/general/lg-v10-f600l-f600k-f600s-android-n-7-0-t3611676"" use the f600k version it works for me each and everything worked perfectly for me.
1. download the kdz
2. use kdz tools to convert it dz format.
3. use lgup to flash (it will not say invalid kdz)
im here to ask something: if you can flash a H960(A) kdz on to F600(K,S,L)...the opposite can be done too without losing features? like put the firmware V30 Nougat in V20 European?
I dont care about FM Radio working or not, only want network and wifi working.

I think you messed up with modern files as it seems that your imei and sku both equals 0,
Try reflashing stock for this device (whatever the model or carrier(i think your device is at&t carrier locked) so flash that one using fastboot)
I'm not sure it will work or not or how it might end up (might brick or might fix)
But you can give it a try

custom f firmware? the stuff you get from sammobile is OEM stock firmware
there isnt a bespoke dual sim firmware available. From what can gather, the firmware detects what hardware you have and will show dual sim if it is so equipped. Ive seen the d/s version discussed several times on here and thats always been the outcome.

i wouldnt trust the IMEI info page unless it somehow remotes into your phone via an app of some sort to physically check the hardware. CPU-Z pulls from the SOC, mobo etc itself. You can prove this by getting an older version of the app from one of many apk repositories (apkmirror, for example), once downloaded turn on airplane mode so that the apk doesnt know what device its being installed on, install it, run it and see what it says. It could have some info baked into the app for it to cheat, but id be for more likely to believe the imei info is cheating than cpu-z

i hear ya. i would flash the F firmware since that is what CPU-Z says it has. Im betting that the info from IMEI details is what was supposedly shipped on the device. Your software version says its a Exynos chip, CPU-Z says it is too. Id not trust anything thats telling you what processor is in your phone that isnt interfacing with it directly such as firmware and CPU-Z.

We're adding a line on our Verizon account with an S9+ that was on Canada's freedom mobile network.
I checked the IMEI on Verizon byod and it shows not compatible.
I asked some questions on reddit and was told to try flashing U1 firmware.
Been a while since I tinkered with phones like this so I'm comfortable with it but wondering:
Is this possible?
And if so, where to start? Any guides here I can follow?

cant do it. the U1 firmware is for SnapDragon processors and the G960F has a Exynos. not compatible and youre not going to be able to use that phone on vzw period. sorry man. well, you can theoretically use it for data, but thats it. Basically, no F model galaxy phones on vzw

if you can unlock the bootloader then you can root it with a magisk patched AP file through odin
I would assume that its the same as with every recent Samsung phone for the last years: you can unlock the Bootloader and flashed a patched AP image - triggering Knox and loosing warranty in some regions....
No need to wait for anything, as rooting has worked on OneUI 5.0 I would hope/assume that it works still for 5.1 as well

I would assume that its the same as with every recent Samsung phone for the last years: you can unlock the Bootloader and flashed a patched AP image - triggering Knox and loosing warranty in some regions....

Yeah the big difference is now they are using Snapdragon processors on all versions. You probably will still be able to in certain regions but I wouldn't be surprised if they end up being locked down either.
@znel52 and @EtherealRemnant : definitely, its only speculation right now and therefore I just gave the assumption....
I'm still unsure whether I'll take the plunge and root the phone, most probably not at first....
yes, they will have unlockable bootloaders in most likely all other regions than the USA
think back to 2014, most of samsung's phones (galaxy s4, s5) were snapdragon based, and almost all of them (besides the USA variants) were unlockable (USA variants usually got exploited after tho, since touchwiz was filled with bugs)
so we have no reason to think samsung wont 2014 us again, which in that case its the best, since that was samsung's peak..

Okay, if you can, continue the process. Let us know if you can fully bootloader unlock and root. Just toggling that switch doesn't enable true bootloader unlock, it's just one step of it
