Downgrading MiBox help - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

I'm trying to downgrade my MiBox using this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...ic/xiaomi-mi-box-mdz-16-ab-downgrade-t3737186
However I'm confused on if I'm able to do so or not.
If I'm on Build 1560, could I still do this? Or would I have to downgrade to 1028 first, if so how would I go about doing that.
Also, if you’re using the Nougat Beta firmware, you MUST be using build 1028. If you were able to flash your Mi Box to nougat, just do it again using build 1028, nothing older, nothing newer

PLK-UL00 EMUI 3.1 B180 or EMUI 4.0?

So I've got a PLK-UL00 (The indian version) and am currently on the build number "PLK-UL00C17B188".
Now, I downloaded the update package (UPDATE.APP) for what seems to be EMUI 4.0 (PLK-UL00C675B330).
When I try to install it though, I run into an error in the recovery.
Another thing to mention is, that it states I need B170 or B180 to install EMUI 4.0 - But I run B188.
So is there any way to downgrade to B180 OR upgrade to B330 / EMUI 4.0?

If you want to downgrade your phone you'll have to root your phone first and flash your desired Firmware via CWM.
That's the only method I can think of right now.
Maybe it is even possible to use the "force upgrade"-method with an Firmware older than your current one, but I'm not sure about that one

Upgrading

Tired of seeing the new update notification. Looking at upgrading my phone. Unfortunately, I don't install ROMs all the time, so I tend to forget the steps / applications needed to upgrade. I'm rooted, and bootloader is unlocked.
Can anyone help?
Take a screenshot of current t about phone under settings so we know which version you are running

So there are now two newer versions out there, the latest only has an OTA no kdz, and if you flash it as is you will loose root
I suggest wait until there is a method to keep root and flash the latest, which I'm sure will be soon

Okay, thank you. I have the "j" version downloaded. The new one is "l" correct?
Last time I tried updating to the "j" version, LG Up wouldn't recognize my phone.

L is the latest, if you want to flash j right now feel free
There are two Roms by eliminater74 and one by andy_zahng
For any of these choice you do not need LGup, so long as you are previously rooted
Just flash firmware (part one) via TWRP
Then flash any of those three Roms via TWRP
Reboot,
You will have j rooted
But being i tend to recommend a full wipe i would say wait until the latest L is out in a flashable .zip, should be soon

Nope. This problem will be if you try to downgrade from 7.x.x. Upgrade should be painless. Also you can choose any channel. It will be work, but without ota`s updates.
I`ve installed retus on retcn. All working, except otas. Maybe in oreo smthng changes.
Also remember, you doing at your own risk. If you don`t fully understand what you doing - don`t do it. (Google it before )

Well, isn't it exactly what he meant? He has a 7.1.1 system, and the only version on that site was 6.0.1, so basically he will have problems with downgrading from 7 to 6, right?

Uhm, on that site you can choose any ROM you want. Reteu stuck on 6, so, technically, you right.
Also check

Maybe these ROMs will satisfy your taste.

Well, first question, where you hoy TWRP forma the oreo build?, Second it might be a bug that everytime you connect the p10 once you connect the device you have to manually select the mtp option also when using adb the same thing and third your SD might be broken, try changing the sd

So lets wait till is released. Do you know when are they going to release the official final Oreo update? Maybe January? I guess that when they release it the rollback firmware will be released too or a bit later.

I have the same problem. I made it now to install TWRP by this method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10/help/downgrade-oreo-t3726161
But when I start installing with update.bat (http://www.stechguide.com/install-android-8-0-oreo-on-huawei-p10), it stops when I am in TWRP mode. TWRP does not find my p10 in usb mode. So no installation. Any suggestions?

Bootloader unlocked, how to update to Android 9?

I unlocked my bootloader, but I can't seem to find a guide on updating to Android 9. My current firmware has xloader 02.
When I bought it a year ago, you could update it without issues with hwota, but from what I see, that is now disabled. Is there a current program or guide that simplifies changing the firmware to an updated one?

Use the tool from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/firmware-bla-l29-c432-9-0-0-161-t3873835
If you don't yet have root, you can use the EMUI9 beta update tool.
Else you will have to install Magisk first.

You could rebrand before flashing Pie. Don't rebrand while going to Pie, it's usually a bad idea.

They are kept.
If you downgrade using rollback they will wipe though (and only use rollback from January or later if you ever need to downgrade)
