Hello,
I have a Verizon Galaxy note 3 with TWRP and Dirty Unicorns v9.8 ROM and a LG stereo Bluetooth headset. When I try to use OK Google through the phones mic to "play Daft Punk derezzed" it opens it in YouTube music because that's what I have set as my default music player. However if I use OK Google through the Bluetooth headsets mic to "play Daft Punk derezzed" it's seems to forget what the default app is. I say this because first it tried using Audible, then after I uninstalled audible it dried using Plex, and after I uninstalled Plex it tried using Apollo. I've tried lots of different things to try to change the default apps in different ways, but that doesn't seem to do anything. Changing ROMs is not really an option for me right now. So any help you can give would be appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi. I am absolutely clueless with this.
I am used to having my phone paired with my car stereo which acts both as a headset and as a multimedia playback device. Im using this for a couple of years now and been doing that with iPhones, Galaxies and now the Atrix nad this has never happened before.
This is the problem. Ever since I updated to Gingerbread when I answer a phone call with my car stereo, and end the call, the default Music player on the android pops up and starts playing whatever is on the playlist. I can try and pause the audio and it will play again in a few seconds. I can even force close the app and it will pop open back again. It happened with the old Music, with the new Music (with Google Music support), with Grooveshark, Winamp, you name it.
Figuring it was happenning because of a faulty ROM I installed every single GB based rom out there, including the leak version, the official version, Kenneth's beta 4.5, Kenneth's Alien ROM.
I have factory reset and tried installing everything manually (not restoring through CWM or Titanium). No fix.
Any clues?
Any thoughts on this? Thank you.
I've found that the music player only works when no pre-installed or Google apps are on auto end. IDK why, but it has to do with interconnectedness.
The media player is reacting to the media pairing event as if a button was pressed.
I trap this using a Tasker profile triggered by the bluetooth connection to my car kit; the entry task grabs Media Button Events and the exit task releases them. This stops the media player launching.
Monkey see, monkey do.
If thats the problem then try headset interceptor and choose the app you want the button presses to be sent to...worth a short. Free app in the market.

I'm having no audio when I connect my phone to the car through Bluetooth. I do have call audio both ways but I can't play music or sounds. Phone doesn't say anything, acts like it is playing music but no sound. I'm using task650's aokp 4-4-2012.
Also, I can't install Samsung apps, there are some apps there I use. Any way to get it working?
Thanks for reading.
I have the same issue. I found the work arround by open music app then make a call after you hear ring disconnect phone and try running music again. Some how it works for me..
bluetooth is working fine here.
i use pandora and make calls over my head unit in my car. no issues at all
samsung apps? you arent going to be using samsung apps in aokp.....
I have been using 4-14-2012, Build 31, and now 4-18-2012, and each one the Bluetooth audio works. I would recommend updating to a newer version and try again.
Also, most of the Samsung apps hook into touchwiz or back end services that are not in AOKP.
Dear all,
I recently switched to the HTC One GE, from an iPhone 4, and I am having trouble dealing with the inline remote controls. In the stock android OS, by default 1-click pauses/plays music and 2-click fast-forwards. Three clicks do nothing but I really like the possibility to use that to rewind my music. Even if I download a third-party inline remote app (e.g. JAYS headset control) to do that, I still cannot get this to work, i.e. although the app is set as I want it, it doesn't work.
On a slightly unrelated topic, why can I not use 2 clicks to fast-forward when playing music from Pandora but 1-click can pause/play a song no problem?
Thanks!
Nicola
If you are using a set of headphones made to work on the iPhone then it will never work right and you will need a different set of headphones
Wayne Tech Nexus
I'm using the earphones that came with my HTC one so they should work.
And the 1- and 2-click options work just fine. I just can't get 3-click one to be set for rewinding music.
I used to always voice dictate to my phone. I'm usually listening to podcast or Google Play. I would normally press the microphone button on the keyboard and the audio would pause and then it would transcribe the speech. A second later it would detect no sound and then my audio from doggcatcher would start playing or Google Play Music would restart.
No it beeps the audio pauses for a brief second and then the audio keeps going. If I use the mic on "Google Now Search" it works like normal.
Any suggestions?
I am stock rooted on a clean wipe of 4.4.2
Who do I even contact? Samsung? Google?
Any suggestions?
Any one having the same problem? Any one not having the problem?
Microphone on keyboard won't stop audio playing (anymore}

Okay apparently its a problem across the board:
Voice Dictate Issue:
The problem could be a bug in the KitKat OS update, because I tried different 'Keyboard' apps and I was able to reproduce the problem with all of them, this is also an issue using voice search with 'Google maps'. Apps that require audio playback to pause, needs to tell Android, so that Android can tell DC to pause.
If you're reading this (yes you!) could you also take the time out to click the link below and report the problem so we can't get that fixed?

Hi All RN3 users,
I am writing this from India, using a Redmi Note3 Snapdragon, 32gb, running MIUI Global 8.0.6.0
I have been using this RN3 since 2 months now. I am music fan and was happily listening to songs on Rocket Player and few other Music players with Philips Earphone which I had got with Philips 1GB Mp3 player many years ago. It was a TRS jack and was working fine.
Suddenly few days ago the earphone went dead. After this I have been trying few others like JBL Headphone, LG earphone(TRRS) etc.
Everytime I plug in the ear/headphone and switch on the music player, the song plays for about 4 seconds and then OK Google voice assistant opens up on its own and stops the music. Push it to background and manually resume the music, it appears again. With my old Philips earphone I never had this problem and the top bar icon was always of headphone only. Now it changes to earphone with mic icon before OK google appears.
I browsed the net for solutions, forced stop the google app, disabled voice detection in settings, tried rebooting, tried 2-3 new earphones but no use.
According to some users who are facing this problem, it is a earphone jack and audio port hardware issue, earphone is being mistaken somehow as microphone and so the voice app is appearing.
But it was not there with my old model Philips earphone
Even now this problem is not there when I am playing FM Radio !!
No problem when playing the music with Phone Speaker
But only when playing music from music player apps and with Earphones inserted.
From net browsing I learned that even other brands like LG G3, HTC, Galaxy phones are facing this and with good branded earphones like Sennheiser, SoundMagic, JBL.
Also this problem was not there with MIUI v8050.
Is it a bug or a hardware issue? Is my audio-port damaged?
PLEASE help me solve this. What is the guarantee that buying a new earphone would solve this issue?
Hey Google, It is NOT OK to stop playing music.
I was also facing the same issue, and no its not a hardware issue. I solved this issue by modifying mixer file in /system/etc/ by changing a line from HIFI to LP and then a reboot.
Can you please give detailed info how to edit that file. Full path where to locate that file.
My phone is not rooted, I don't know how to root. I hope the solution you have suggested doesn't need rooting.
Open Google > Settings > Voice > Hands Free > uncheck "For wired Headsets".
OK google Detection > Disable everything...
Try this and see if the problem was gone

Hi madkiran, I have tried doing this and sorry to say it did not help. What you have suggested is the only action we as non-expert users could attempt.
I fail to understand how despite disabling it pops up once music starts playing.
