Try reformatting with TWRP. You may fix the file system. If you're not using TWRP, or you're not comfortable with rooting you might try taking it for warranty exchange.

Which version of CWM is it that lets you acess and flash from the sd card?

Which version of CWM is it that lets you acess and flash from the sd card? At the moment I am running 5.5.0.4 I am pretty sure but it only lets me acess the phones built in storage and that is filling up pretty quick. Oh and I am using the sprint variant of the gs3.
not sure if it is the same for the SGS3, but on the ET4G, you could pick if you wanted to use the internal or external SD storage
Version 5.8.4.5. Tried and succeeded with my Tmo version.
---------- Post added at 02:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:38 PM ----------
Edit: do not update to or install the newest one which is the 5.8.4.6. That one only supports internal. It will still show the option to choose either ext or int...but fails each time you try to install from int.

why answer if you don't know the answer to the OP's question.

[Q] Installing apps on internal USB drive

Ok, I have searched XDA, google, etc.. still have not found a solution.
I have 10.53GB of USB storage available on the Gnote. Can I install apps onto this area w/o installing a SD card??? I don't want to add an extra SD card as there is 10+ gigabytes on the phone available for use. Or is this data only available to put files from a connection to a computer???
Thank you much for any help.
How did you cram a USB drive into your phone?

Yes, 2GB full completely full. Can't even get updates on the apps already installed.
So is it possible to use the internal USB storage for apps???
Thanks.
Let me try something and get back to you.

Looks like you can't do it with the native application manager. Have you tried app2sd from playstore? I haven't us3d it so don't know if it has that capability.

If they are on your ext sd, 2.5.0.0 has a storage location selection near the top in the middle.

Just booted in to see exactly where it was and yes...at the top in restore where it says storage: data. Tick that and you can select from ext sd. The navigation is a bit different on 2.5

Never even noticed that. Granted I spent like 10 seconds looking before I just moved them. Thanks!

Yeah the layout on 2.5 seems tricky. I had to dig to find storage location in a few of the menu layouts. Team Win apparently wants to keep us from getting to complacent lol

Massive 'Other' in storage?

Sorry for the noob question, but I can't seem to find an answer.
I have an HTC one (32gb version) that is quickly running out of space.
I have about 9gb of music on here, less than 100mb of photos, maybe 1gb of apps, and I only have 400mb free storage left!?
I recently rooted and installed the trickdroid Rom, but I performed a cache wipe and factory reset wipe through CWM I reinstalled it (had to do it about 3 times due to tweaks not working and forcing bootloop).
I've had a look in app caches etc, but can't find anything over 12kb.
I backed up using HTCs built in backup service, as well as performing a titanium backup.
Please help me find where my missing 19gb or so went!

did you have 4.1.2 before installing trickdroid 4.2.2? if so then youll need to wipe the files inside data/media. from 4.2 onwards your files are stored in data/media/0
---------- Post added at 04:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:26 PM ----------
or go to CWM, mounts and storage, wipe data/ data/media. youll have to set the phone up again

You could try installing something like SD Maid or Clean Master and see if they can find anything else.

Twrp can't locate files

I just flashed cm13 for condor. Now I have got another Nightly Build, but i can't flash it as I have formatted SD card as "internal storage". Is there any other way to flash Nightly without formatting my SD card back again?
