At first, sorry if that's the wrong thread, i'm not really used to forums.
Now lets get to my problem.
I made a backup of my audio files to my computer a few weeks ago.
Since the backup i downloaded some files via youtube downloader etc.
Yesterday i saw that some of my music is missing on my phone i backed up on my computer.
So i got on my computer opening the folder with all the backuped audio files/folders, marked them all and just copied them to my audio/music folder on my phone.
I did not get the message "do you want to keep/skip/override already exusting files"
my plan was to skip all files already existing, but it seems it just copied ALL files and now i have some twice or three times, but not all.
and now the Problem: all files i downloaded after the backup a few weeks ago (and moved to the same folder where my music is) went into 0 byte files and i cannot use them anymore.
any idea why and how to solve this/get my files back???

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. When I did a firmware update, I did a backup of everything.
Then I did a firmware update, of course it failed, dont know why, I think it was because I was using a USB 1.1 socket on the computer, since the emergency restore worked when switching to a USB 2.0 socket on the back of the computer.
Now I have lost everything. When I try to restore, everything is greyed out. Had some important passwords saved into "Memo" in the phone and need to get them back.
How I do to restore the memo data?
The first attachment show the backup screen, and the second screen show that the memo (in swedish: "Anteckningar") is greyed out. Everything in Personal details (swedish: "Personuppgifter") is greyed out.
How I do to restore the memo data? Only option is to restore some photos.
Solved it. Did this, first I started recovery, since I had some heavy files, I could start a very long recovery.
Then I went into my document folder, where the SBU files are placed. Kies does a temporary extraction, so I could go into the file, and found a memo.bk file.
Copied it to desktop, renamed to .txt and found this:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR
VERSION:1.0
BEGIN:VEVENT
DESCRIPTION;CHARSET=UTF-8;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:PASSWORD1=0APASSWORD2
DTSTART:20111010T110217Z
X-ALLDAY:UNSET
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR<#JIG#><#COUNT#>1
(of course I don't show the passwords here, thats why they are replaced Password1 and Password2)
Thanks!

Almost a year and a half later since you posted this, but you just saved me!
Had the same problem after updating from ICS to Jellybean, all my important data and password info in my memo files
When i tried to tick the box to restore, it was all greyed out to my disappointment.
So i started the restore process, when the error came up, navigated to the temp folder within Kies directory and BAM! memo file right there.
Thanks again!

Greetings,
Not sure if this something Ive done when rooting and putting busybox on, but im trying to backup the entire contents of my sdcard to my desktop.
The files start copying, but at some point it fails and most of the folders of high interest are empty on the desktop. I need my titanium backup and mybackuppro, rom backups, etc. What it looks like I have to go into each of these folders and copy manually.
I just want to select all, copy, paste and be done with it.
Has anyone had an experience like this?
same here.
and can see not all folders/files' and even worse: i see dfferent folders with windws explorer, total commander mtp and total commander adb... only on the device itself i can see everything correct...
dn't know what it is, never seen before...
I made some progress here. Im preparing for a firmware upgrade which wipes, so I need this backup.
I noticed that from the root, if I drag one folder alone, it will copy that with all sub-folders properly.
It's only when you copy multiple folders that it fails.
Maybe this is solved in the firmware upgrade to HBOOT 1.35. I will report back here when complete.

This appears to be fixed now after the firmware upgrade. Copying all files without any recursion problems

Hello,
Today I updated one of my friends phone to Android 4.3 from Android 4.1.2. I rooted it and installed a custom ROM. The problem is, all images, songs, files, everything is gone. The strange thing is that storage is used by more than 4 GB (the same use before losing data). When I go to install ZIP from the recovery, there is a 0 folder inside SD Card, however, I cannot access it normally using a file manager, not even using ES file manager or root explorer.
Any ideas?
Note: Better say, file managers can only go to sdcard/0 which has empty folders. How to go to sdcard?
Read the sticky thread in general forum on changes to file structure between 4.1 and 4.3.
Hi there, yesterday I noticed that about 500mb of files disappeared from my downloads folder. I am not exactly sure what caused this to happen but i suspect it to be a system update a day prior (Only other things that changed recently was that I installed and uninstalled malwarebytes). All files except for around 10 had disappeared (dont think it has anything to do with their file format as other files of the same format disappeared as well). However files within subfolders inside the downloads folder were fine. My android shows that the space is free (51.7 gb used of 53.9) and i cant find the files with diskdigger when i tried, even though it had found files i had deleted from a year ago. However when I plugin my phone to my PC, my pc shows that 52.2gb of 53.9gb of space is being used (although i still cant see/find the files on pc except for a 126b M3U file). Im wondering if theres anyway to get the data back and what is causing the issue.
Thanks

Hi guys,
I was checking my download folder today using the default Files app and saw this .apk file that I didn't download. Naturally, I wanted to remove the .apk but when I tried to remove it, the function failed.
I tried to get more information but there's nothing I can do to the .apk. I can't open it, copy it, rename it, etc.
Next step, I plugged my phone into my computer and looked at the internal Downloads folder via USB file transfer. I could not see that specific .apk, even with view hidden objects on.
So, I went into my file manager app (Amaze with root access) and went to the emulated Downloads folder, same thing. The folder did not show the .apk at all.
I opened up SD Maid and see if they can find and remove the file, but nope, didn't work.
Now, I'm thinking it's probably just a bug with the Files app so I deleted user data and cache, restarted my phone and all that but still, that .apk persists.
I'm at my wit's end and I have no clue how to remove this file. Any help will be appreciated.
I'm using Google Pixel 3, Android 10.
