Le Eco Remote TV Set Top ox Region Is Chinese Only - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

Does anyone know how to get the list of set top boxes for non Chinese providers ?
I ve been looking for a way for months and I cant find any, its always Chinese regions only in custom ROMs, only EUI has other countries, its doing my head in.
There is a thread that claims to have non Chinese TV provides list but I tried it and its still all Chinese ones.
Its like the remote app thinks the phone is in China, I dont know why cos its not set to China, its set to the UK, I ve tried adding a line in the build.prop but it makes no difference.

[Q] New member in need of urgent advice..pls help friends

Hello everybody, before i get to my point let me introduce myself.. i am a college student studying in Australia and i am of indian origin although have never stayed there due to parents being moved around in mnc from wen i am small. I just bought my s2 today and i am having some big software issues. The set i bought is from china as i am here on holiday.
Phone Details:
PDA:I9100XWKE7
PHONE: I9100XXKE4
CSC:I9100XEUKD1
I did a factory reset right after buying as i was hoping to rid of these chinese apps but that was no good.. Then i tried to download some android apps from android market but phone saying not recognized. i deleted and syncd my google account 3 times but to no use. PS. i cannot find a default android market app icon on my phone as well..
Can anyone please shed some light about my specific phone and what i must do to get it working to its full potential.. simple google, weather apps is not all i am hoping for.. I love being part of online communities for all my electronics such as my ps3, blackberry and alienware but i am very very new to android and smartphones but i am willing to learn as much as i can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much folks!*
Firstly, you should have bought it from the country where you intend to use it as all countries have different firmware in SGS II. If you have already reset it, you need to register with a gmail account for having google services on your phone. And you also have to register with an email for having a Samsung account. For your missing apps you can always google to find out. You say you tried to download from the Market, that means you have Market installed. But you can't see the Market icon? Check your list of applications.
If you can't get rid of the Chinese apps with a simple uninstall, then maybe you can try Rooting your phone and then use apps like Titanium for getting rid of the apps you don't need.
Very weird, you have the market but you don't have it. I'd say wipe, install Villainrom. Haha, it's just who I am.
thanks guys
sorry for the confusion guys i was not quite clear about my problems i realize now after going through the forums and familiarizing with android as much as i could in last 2 days.. loving the amount of customization possible after moving up from a blackberry which i used to think was awesome..S2 is simply incomparable but!
It seems my phone was already rooted and some sort of custom rom was already already installed wen i bought in china. Its hard to know really since language is the biggest barrier here..
my kernel version is:[email protected]#2
My baseband is:XXKE4
PDA:XWKE7
CSC:XEUKD1
My problem is actually that i can access android market which isnt the same as the rest of you because here in china my phone came loaded with a local version for all CHINESE apps called GoMarket. This here are done quite differently as facebook, youtube and all are banned and the chinese have better immitated versions for their domestic population.. This is a big problem because i wont be staying here long and i am worried that once i am out of china neither will i be able to access this nor the usual android market since i am unable to pair my google account with market place..i have tried syncing several times and even doing factory reset but without any progress
ps. i would just like my S2 to be like all the others outside the Great FireWall because only reason i bought this phone is to be able to utilize any android app whilst travelling to diff countries without the current problems i am having now.
I hope i am more clear now and am welcome to any more suggestions from you friends. thank you guys
so essentially, the ROM installed on your phone bans android market, and blocks access to all things google, right?
if so, i'd recommend just flashing any custom rom like villain/litening/cognition. that way access to the android market is re-enabled. unfortunately, i'm not too sure if the great firewall extends to mobile applications, so when you're in china (even though you have a custom rom installed and have android market on your phone) you may not be able to use your google account effectively. but that should be limited to china, if at all.
i can't see how this would not work, unless your phone was made to have removed any download mode or something to that sort.

[App] Orange France TV and VOD apps optimized for tab

it seems that Orange France is pre-installing Galaxy Tab 10.1 specific TV and VOD apps on the units they are selling:
assistance.orange.fr/tv-d-orange-pour-le-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-1930
assistance.orange.fr/le-service-video-a-la-demande-pour-la-tablette-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-4758
I did not find those apps in the market. it seems the TV app is a tablet specific one. They did that also for Ipad, full screen app at 750 Kbits/s.
I have a 3G tab that works as well with my Smartphone Orange SIM, with MobileTV option subscribed. I tried the Orange France android Mobile TV application for smartphone on the tab. It works, I got authenticated, but it is really bad under Honeycomb, small screen, low resolution ...
Could somebody share those apps ?
I am also looking for the VideoFutur VOD app which is installed on tabs retailed in France (I got mine abroad). Impossible to find it, only one for the Galaxy tab 7", but wrong screen size in full screen display...
Thanks.

[Q] Edit Build.Prop to Change Language without Changing Region/Locale?

Here is the issue I've run into. Nowhere can I find information about this.
My phone is a StraightTalk Huawei Ascend H866C and it is rooted.
I am looking now at the Build.pop and there are two entries here:
Code:
ro.product.locale.language (set to en)
ro.product.locale.region (set to US)
I was originally born in Germany and I grew up learning and using British English. I now live in the United States (I was actually born as a US citizen).
Here's where the issue comes in, I want to change all language things to being British English, but I don't want the region to change to British, I need any in-app purchases and market purchases to recognise my devise as being located in the USA and display USD and not GBP. I don't want to have to keep using some app to switch my "locale" back and forth between US and GB English.
Well I couldn't find an app that lets you set each one independently and decided to go for that manually, however I can find no information on this.
Now my thinking would be that changing the language to be British English and leaving the region as US would work, however I couldn't find out if something like en_GB would even be recognised in that field.

[Q] Chaning Hardware Keyboard Layout Independantly Of System Language.

My granddad recently purchased a 9" android tablet from china, for him it really hasn't paid off. He loved being able to sit down anywhere and just browse the web, play some little games, check emails and view documents for his various charity groups. But the device was slow, poor screen resolution and backlighting and awful at locking onto a WiFi signal.
So this week he bought a galaxy tab 10. He has been much happier with this device and decided to buy a Bluetooth keyboard at the same time.
However he didn't check the layout before purchasing and has accidently bought a US layout keyboard in the UK. Otherwise the keyboard is fine. It doesn't look flash and is made of plastic but it works and you can actually type quite nicely on it, does the job.
Our problem is that when we set the system language on the galaxy tab to English UK shift 2 returns a " symbol as is normal for UK keyboards but the keyboard is a US keyboard and it is marked as @. Setting the system language to English US fixes that. But we're British and use UK English. So far he has been using it this way anyway but it has been annoying him, setting the system language to English US annoyed him more.
Is there a way to set android to use a US layout keyboard but still use a UK system language?
He doesn't want to buy a new keyboard and seems happy enough to live with the US one but would still like the symbols to match up.
I think your solution is External Keybord Helper.
EDIT: It can setup different layout for your external keyboard including different language. And most probably you can manually set up the keyboard layout. First try the demo version if it works than get the pro one.

update localization on rooted Fire TV2

Hi,
I'ma about to root my fire TV2 following the guide on this forum.
I bought my fireTV 2 from Internet from a german shop, knowing that AFTV2 is not sold for France. I'm living in France.
I can watch netflix and install apps by sideloading. But the main interface showing movies and series can not be useful for me, because, each time I launch a movie, it says that is not available for my region.
My question is :
After having rooted the device, can I install a interface menu with French stuff (like a french firestick ?)

Click to collapse
What I would do is use a virtual ip on a VPN like ip vanish that says I'm somewhere else that should work for you.
