Simple question about root? - LG V30 Questions & Answers

someone knows if it is possible to unblock the bootloader of this device (LG V30/ H932PR) for later, ... you know.
in the developer options OEM unlock is enabled.
And if possible, could I install roms from other models / carriers? But haha! Then if an error occurs... I think there is no firmware for this specific model to go back.
and would it be possible to install tmobile firmware on this model? I do not know if it's full compatible

I wish everyone would stop using this special Q&A format and instead just open a regular thread in the Q&A section. XDA makes you use a web browser to answer, you can't answer in an app.
But the answers to all your questions are no.

Need confirmation please

Hi everyone
I was gifted an unlocked t-mobile vibrant a few days ago. Need to confirm if I can update the 2.2 firmware when it is made available without losing the unlock? Fyi, when I press on firmware update in the settings menu it says no firmware..wonder why that is...hope someone here can clarify
P.s. Already tried searching on the forums but didn't find anything that confirms the above

First of all, wrong section. Second, you shouldn't lose your carrier unlock when you update firmware. Lastly, the reason it says "No firmware" is because T-mobile has not officially released any updates for the Vibrant. When an OTA update is made available to you, it will show up.
if you need it to remain unlocked because you are using it on another carrier you won't get the 2.2 ota from t-mobile. However i'm willing to bet within hours of its release we will have it here to be able to flash for rooted users.

If you ever have questions, please post them in the Q&A subforum, not the development subforum. Your thread has been moved to the Q&A sub-forum.
As far as your question goes: Theoretically, you shouldn't loose it, but since there are no 2.2 updates, yet, there is no way to know 100%.

Moving to Q&A
Thanks for moving it ad sorry about it, but can anyone help???? Please
First, ask AT&T to remove the SIM lock. They will in most cases, just ask them. After unlocking the SIM, flash clockworkmod recovery, root, and then flash a custom rom and kernel. Viola. Hope this helps and isn't too late.

Customrom

Hello. I recently got an m8 so i was wondering if there were any custom roms that keep the gesture when the phone is locked but also gives vanilla android experience. Also can you list a couple of good roms to use. Thanks
Witch variant HTC ONE M8 ?
We can assume it's the At&t variant cause your asking in the At&t
Q&A ,Help & Troubleshooting forum.
Normally I would offer assistance but you don't have a problem to solve cause your answer lies within the Development section
Enter a Rom thread and if what you read is what you think you might like than give it a try.
Please do yourself a favour and make a backup before you do anything ?

unlocking h831 bootloader?

i see a lot of tutorials on how to unlock the bootloader for the h831 while searching. has anyone tried these?
i'm curious because i'm getting the g5 tonight. and i might want to root it in the future.
There is no bootloader unlock for the h831 and there isn't one in developement either. If you really searched on the forums, you would have realised this yourself.

actually, there is one:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/how-to/guide-adb-root-rw-dm-verity-off-sprint-t3523499
some have reported it to work. thanks though. and i didn't say i searched the forums, now did i.
Firstly, what you found isn't a bootloader unlock nor a "normal" root method (with supersu and all the bells and whistles). That is actually an userdebug kernel and an adb root is pretty limited for non-devellopers and you shouldn't use it ubless you know what you are doing. So I actually didn't lied to you as there really is no bootloader unlock available for the h831 nor one in devellopement.
Secondly, when you post a question in ANY forum, everyone expect you should AT LEAST make a quick search in the forum iteself or google it. Why ? Because if everybody ask questions without checking if they have been answered, the community is stuck at posting the same answer again and again, wasting everyone's time and ressources. Why somebody should take his own damn time to answer a question if the other person isn't even ready to make a quick 1 minutes search ?

seems like you're angry...how about you just get the hell out of my thread eh?
i asked a question in the QUESTIONS forum! it doesn't matter if it was asked before. if you don't like to answer with kindness, then don't answer at all.
thanks for the info though.

ViVo X Note unlock bootloader???

This is a very simple question, and i have tried scouring the internet for this answer, but to no avail, i havent found anything. Has anyone successfully unlocked the bootloader/rooted/and flash an american OS to the Vivo X Note? I've tried all the conventional ways to unlock the bootloader on this device and nothing works. It's so odd because vivo has OEM unlocking in the dev options, but nothing in ADB works with it and there isnt an OEM tool like Xiaomi's tool that can do it. Every command just does not work with this phone. I hope there is an answer out there cause i would love to be able to remove originOS and put funtouch or something American on it. Thanks!
have you tried below command from fastboot-
fastboot bbk vivo_bsp unlock_vivo

I know this was quite awhile ago but I can help if you're still interested. This is my current device and I have a pretty good handle on downgrading/rooting. I can also help you get back to the latest OTA. The key is to make sure you have a copy of the OTA.zip or at least the boot.img from that OTA version. I have all of these files backed up and can share them but could also walk you through the process so you're able to do it yourself. Let me know if interested. If there is a demand I may write up a guide. Happy to share any knowledge/data on an individual basis if not
