I was messing with my old tracfone and trying to install a custom ROM on it. I pressed wipe on TWRP and selected advance wipe and selected everything for factory defaults. After this, I restarted and my phone is stuck on the LG logo and won't go past it. I can't even get back into TWRP by spamming the volume up button. I also have a backup image, but what's the point if I can't access TWRP? Any help is appreciated.

Wipe doesn't restore factory defaults, it removes everything. If you wiped system partition there's no Android on your phone, thus no system to boot. If that's the case, you can try to reflash twrp or install original firmware

If so, you need a PC, if it's Windows then download this tool - it's a system-wide fastboot that lets you flash software on your phone. It should also download drivers.
If everything goes OK, boot your phone into bootloader (you need to find the right key combination to do that, could be (phone off) power button+ volume down held for about 5-10 seconds, but I don't really know how it's like with this particular phone).
Go to the folder where you've got your TWRP, hold shift and press right mouse button. From context menu choose "open command window here"
In command window enter:

if it returns your phones serial number it's OK, if it doesn't - you probably don't have proper drivers so look for them
If everything is OK enter:

fastboot flash recovery your-twrp-image-name.img
If this step is OK you can reboot:

In the bootloader there should be an option to enter recovery mode which is now TWRP. From there you can flash some ROM.

Thanks for the help, but unfortunately, I think that the phone is junk. My phone can't get into boot-loader for whatever reason, and I heard some people post that the phone was designed to make the boot-loader non-accessible. I already tried to flash it with ADB while it starts up, but no device is detected (no USB debugging I guess). So unless I can flash the phone while It's on the LG logo, I can't do nothing.

Things you will need:
1. adb and fastboot
2. usb driver for Elephone M3
3. a copy of a correct version of TWRP for the device, copied in the adb and fastboot folder. Rename your TWRP.img file to recovery.img
4. latest flashable supersu.zip (V2.82 and above) and the recovery.img on external SD card.
Process:
1. Install the above.
2. Boot your phone normally, and enable developer options.
3. From developer options enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging. Connect the device to computer and enable MTP transfer.
4. On your phone's screen you should see a message with a "key" or "fingerprint", accept the connection.
5. Navigate to the folder you have installed adb and fast boot and copied pre-mentioned file.
6. Open a command prompt navigate to the adb folder (not powershell prompt if you are on windows 10 1703) and type: adb devices
If all is well you should get a number on the left and "device" next to it.
7. type "adb reboot to bootloader". You are now in fastboot.
8. type "fastboot oem unlock". Carefully look the really small letters on the elephone' s screen and confirm. Reboot the device. Really important as after unlocking the bootloader, a factory reset is triggered.
9. Once the factory reset is done, once again enable developer otions and usb debugging.
10. Open a command prompt again and once again get into fastboot mode (as previously described).
11. Type "fastboot boot recovery.img". You should now see TWRP.
12. From TWRP select install and install supersu. Wipe dalvik/cache and reboot.
13. Once boot-up completes and you make sure you have root access (you should), for the last time reboot to bootlader.
14. Again "fastboot boot recovery.img". From TWRP select install, install image, select recovery.img from your extenral SD and flash it to recovery.
If all went well, you should by now have unlocked the bootloader, have your device rooted, and also have a functional TWRP recovery! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

so, I just upgraded my z5c from MM CyanogenMod to this nougat ROM > [ROM][7.0][Stock][.33][3.7 b7][Deodex][DeBloat][Font][Stereo][Vulkan™] Xperia Loop™
Before the update I could enter TWRP without any problems.
Now, everytime I try to boot into recovery the phone simply reboots...
Things I've tried:
• Typed "adb reboot recovery" on CM
• Downloaded TWRP App to re-flash and click on "recovery reboot"
• Power up phone holding Volume Down
The phone is rooted with SuperSU.
The main reason I wanted to regain access to recovery is to re-root the phone with Magisk.

1. install fastboot and fastboot drivers on your pc (if you don't have them obviously)
2. plug the phone into the pc using the usb cable while holding the volume + button (this way you will skip the adb part)
3. wait for the notification light to go blue
4. go into the fastboot directory
5. download the twrp "recovery.img" file and put it into the fastboot directory
6. hold shift while right-clicking into the directory where fastboot is
7. use the option to open a cmd into the directory
8. type in "fastboot boot recovery.img"
if your phone's fastboot drivers don't have signature (like it happened to me) download Zadig and create a signature for the driver

Ok I'm having this problem which I can't sort out. I had pixel experience 23/08019 rom installed in my phone and today I decided to install the latest miui stable eu 10.3.7.0 but in twrp it asked for my pin for decrypt. And at that time it accepted my password and I installed the rom with dfe 19.3 and then rebooted my device. It stuck on boot showing enter pin to continue which is kind of new to me, because it wasn't present before. Though I gave my pin there but the device showed wrong pin, retry. I didn't understand what the problem was. Now I tried to install the rom hoping maybe some fault during installation. So coming to twrp I saw that it's asking for pin and this time after I provided correct pin it's showing wrong pin decryption failed. Still ok for me. I thought that I will format my data thus removing the crap encryption. But formatting data showed unable to mount storage. Now no matter whatever I try it's showing the same. I don't seem to understand anything now.

Moreover platform tools command prompt window not showing my device in list of devices attached. The poco also after connecting to usb on fastboot mode is going to power on mode and bootlooping. I can't even install any other twrp . What is the solution?

seems like drivers aren't attached, please install MiFlashTool and from initial start it will give your prompt to install QUALCOM drivers inf, click install ALL, also install MI PC SUITE and make test connection
if you have done both! then simply command prompt in c drive wont show anything you must run command prompt from ADB folder!

ASSUMING YOU HAVE ALL THE DRIVERS INSTALLED AND TEST CONNECTION is PASSED in Fastboot
put these files in SDcard OR usb storage
a. vendor firmware , from https://mirror.akhilnarang.me/MIUI/beryllium/beryllium-9.6.27-9.0-vendor-firmware.zip
b. magisk18.3.zip
c. google apps from openapps.org (take arm64>android9.0>MICRO package and hit download) 250+mb filesize
d. (optional) optimus drunk kernel (check development forum for post)
e. custom rom, (i use Havo2.8)
1. download twrp 3.3.1 unofficial from https://mega.nz/#F!bdwQVIyK!OWNLH72HNT-ecmC-vAVmPw , and put it on desktop
2. open folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot , while PRESSING SHIFT KEY on keyboard, Right click on the blank area of window and CLICK "open Command Prompt here",
3. press volume down + power on your poco until Green Robot appears and connect device with your pc
4. type fastboot devices and enter in minimal adb window, it should show you hexadecimal code ensuring you device is connected
5. now type fastboot boot ... and drag twrp.img from desktop and DROP it over cmd window. the line should look like this

C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot boot C:\Users\<username>\Desk
top\twrp3.3.1unofficial.img
and press enter, it will sent boot in temporary memory to your poco and device will boot in to twrp from memory (not from bootsection) this twrp usually have better control over things where encryption is concern.
6. now wipe /system /cache /delvik /data
6b. FORMAT /DATA (type YES) and proceed, this will delete everything in your device
7. (optional) select /data partition, click change file system from .ext4 to some exfat & once done , COME BACK and select again /data partition again and change file system back to .ext for
8. flash VENDOR >> StockRom >> kernel (optional)>>GAPPS>>Magisk >> then wipe cache >> REBOOT

You can try connecting your device with a usb hub. That was the solution for me.

- Download adb platform tools here
- Download adb drivers here
- Enable developer settings -> Enable OEM unlock.
- Reboot into Fastbot mode: Turn off the phone, hold down vol+ and vol-, then power on the phone.
- Connect the phone to the computer, run "fastboot devices". If not recognized, ensure driver is installed in the device manager, install from downloaded adb drivers.
- Run "fastboot oem unlock", accept in the phone prompt, the phone will be wiped!
- Boot again in fastboot, flash the recovery: "fastboot flash recovery recovery_file".
- Unplug the USB, I found the recovery to not work properly if the usb was already plugged in before booting.
- Boot into recovery mode: Hold Vol+ and turn on the phone.
- Go to Update... Install from ADB, connect the USB.
- In the computer, run "adb sideload rom_file"
- I'd recommend issuing a factory reset after this, just in case.
- NEVER run "fastboot oem lock" with modded system, it'll brick your phone! (Can be fixed, but just don't do it)
- Enjoy

- Better do OOS10->OOS11->OOS12, just in case! I'd stay with OOS 11.1.11.11, OOS12 is a battery drainer!
- Ensure to make a factory reset when done with updating.
- Now you're stock, you can also relock the bootloader by booting into fastboot and running "fastboot oem lock".
Be aware that you will miss some camera features with any custom rom... Full camera features are only available with the stock rom..
Thats why I moved back to stock rom and debloated all unuseable stuff...
But a custom rom offers many other opportunities that the stock rom doesn't have...

Wow! You wrote the bible for the beginner ... I don't know how to thank you for your patience, now I have a great starting point
I've a problem, fastboot can't see my device... I've installed the oneplus drivers, but windows continues to use Microsoft's drivers. I tried to update the drivers from the device manager indicating as drivers those installed in the Oneplus folder, but windows keeps telling me not to find drivers compatible with an x64 system in that folder. I also tried to disable the digital signature check, without success. This is on both windows 11 and windows 10 PCs. I've also enabled debug usb...
There's no problem using Windows drivers.
Isn't the phone recognized as fastboot device?

After flash recovery, when i go to the recovery mode, i see this mex:
"The current image (boot/recovery) have been destroted and can not boot. Please flash the correct image or contact customer service to fix"
Fortunately i have solved with msm....
It's a known thing that you can flash on any custom ROM only if you're on oxygenOS 10 or 11 version. Respectively, if you are on android 12, then you first need to flash with unbrick tool (msmtool) anroid 10 (EU/Global/India) or android 11 (India).

If you want to flash any custom ROM, then you need to go to unbrick tools thread, download drivers and MSM tool firmware and step by step flash it.
After that flash custom rom you need also with it instruction in the thread.
