Looking for additional display settings

These are two features I would like to have but couldn’t find in the display settings:
1. Leave screen on when charging or plugged in (or at least have different screen timeouts for plugged in or not plugged in).
2. Turn screen on when receiving a message and show a preview of the message on the lock screen.
Is it possible to get this with the stock ROM (Sprint S3)?
Thanks!
for ur 1st question it should be there in developer options if not there are many 3rd party apps in market to do that .
for ur 2nd non stock sms apps in play store might do that.

[Q] Facebook lockscreen cover feed, latest facebook update

Hi! Facebook rolled an update that adds lockscreen cover feed without having to install the Home launcher. SGS3 is amongst the supported devices but I simply cannot update the Facebook app, play store says it's up to date! Are the updates pushed only to certain groups of people at first? Anyone managed to get the latest update on their SGS3?
Thanks in advance.
I have had this update from 1st august . It s only a matter of waiting .
Sorry for bad english
Greetings
I guess I don't have it. Only was able to get lock screen by adding Home app. Could not figure out how to control icons on lock screen.
I think that s useless

Click to collapse
You can't. Standard Home lock screen has three icons: messenger, apps, go to launcher. The new Facebook lock screen has: Camera, Unlock and messenger if I recall correctly.
Is it a pop up notification or a widget?
There are a lot of bad reviews on new update. May be why it has not been rolling out very fast.

How can I see DND status on lock screen? (v5.0.1, Samsung S6)

I have spent ages googling and none of the descriptions work.
This is my current lock screen:

I would like something on it which reminds me that I have Do Not Disturb active.
The phone is rooted but otherwise it came from amazon.co.uk, sim free. It may be an import from Germany.
Amazon traders sell stuff from all over the place; I believe this phone came from Germany. But, like a lot of Amazon stuff it may be a grey import.
Apparently the lock screen is supposed to show some icon when DND is active, but mine always looks like this.
I can't see where the potential config can be. For example under Notifications / Applications there is a long list of apps and which notifications are OK to show for each one, and that might be a starting point, but there is no "app" for the DND feature.
There is a lot on google and a lot of people are trying to solve this.

Looking for ways to enable 3rd party notifications on Neon Flip Cover

This is probably low priority in development but shouldn't be impossible to implement.
My Experience with the Samsung Neon Flip Cover - Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 (EU)
BELOW INFORMATION IS BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE "Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 (EU)" AND MAY DIFFER FROM YOURS.
As we know, the neon flip cover only lights up when you receive a notification from specific stock (Samsung) apps. However it also lights up every time you close the cover.
For those who are unaware, the flip cover itself never actually lights up, it's the screen of your phone that does. However there is an NFC chip in the flip cover.
This seems to be the process which causes this "special screen notification" to happen:
1. The phone detects the case (NFC).
2. The magnet on the back of the flip cover (bottom right corner of the neon orange plastic) indicates the cover is closed.
3. Flip cover close action + specific stock (Samsung) apps cause "special screen notification".
Below are my observations:
1. The "special screen notification" seems to be enabled on a "per app" basis, rather than a "per notification type" basis. This is most obvious when using a third party Phone/SMS/Timer app. This may also be restricted to apps installed in the System partition.
2. There should realistically be a way to "call" this "special screen notification" (most likely will require root).
3. Third party notification control apps such as "Light Flow" which may allow to control the OLED panel on some devices cannot "call" this "special screen notification" (after some personal testing).
4. [Temporary Workaround]: There are some apps on the Play Store that replicate Samsung's "Edge Lighting" and create a somewhat similar effect to the one we're trying to replicate (even with the flip cover closed). However, these apps are usually full of ads and seem quite unreliable for long term use.
Finding a Solution
I would happily spend some time investigating and testing this issue, but I lack the coding skills to develop a working solution. HOWEVER if somebody knows how to log notification events, that could be a start to my investigation. Any ideas/advice is welcome. Hopefully we can get this working!
I'm currently not on a rooted A3 2017, but using WakeLock Detector I've identified the process under "Screen wakelock" as:
App: UID (name given by the system to apps without actual names)
Status: Idle
Type: User
Process name: NeonCoverAnimationWakeLock

Multiple issues.

I was wondering if anyone had solutions to any of these issues:
Double clicking the "recents" button doesn't go the last app, it just acts like I hit the home button once, minimizing everything. Likely fixed by a software update (before 4/29).
The dual screen does NOT abide by my LG Game Settings for apps (resolution and frame rate). I have games set to lower resolution, but they always run at high resolution on the left screen. Even if I swipe an app with lowered resolution from the main screen to the dual screen.
When the phone is locked and I go to expand a notification but don't fully expand it, it slips back but my whole screen becomes unresponsive for a couple seconds.
Some apps have rounded corners from the screen and it's harder to see/click on things that are right in the corners.
Mostly importantly, I can't figure out how to get *any* sort of visual notification on my lock screen. When the screen is locked and off I get audio notifications for everything (messages, emails, etc.), but there is no visual indication whatsoever. The screen doesn't come on, light up for a couple seconds, show the notification appearing, nothing. AND I turned on the bubble notifications and sidelight options in App Notifications -> Notifications -> Brief Notifications. But neither of these works. SOLVED: Ugh, apparently immediately underneath those two options is a list of apps to apply this to. Which I guess is neat? I just want it for all apps. Either way, the default for this happens to be NO apps. So I enabled the apps, this one's solved.
NOTE: I am on the very first update version. I have updates disabled, as I usually do with phones, to keep it on the lowest revision for possible rooting purposes. So if any of these issues has been fixed by one of the (almost always useless) security updates, let me know. THANKS!
I had the same issue with the recent button, and I gave up after searching up and down for a setting or something. then it just fixed itself, which probably means an update. currently running most recent software updates.
Awesome, thanks, I'll mark that one as "solved" in a sense. I have access to a few other phones on the same Android version that don't have the issue, so I figured it was phone specific.
