AOSP 8.0.0 - Honor 7x
Introduction
Welcome to our first release for the Honor 7X. At this time, the rom state is Beta.
This is AOSP 8.0, based on the Nougat firmware released for the 7X.
How to install:
Download the rom from the Downloads section
Wipe data from TWRP and remove encryption
Flash the provided zip file
(Optional) Install Gapps if you are going to use them (now's the moment)
Reboot (it may take some time)
Known bugs:
Camera (both of them)
Bluetooth (intentionally disabled)
VoLTE
How to seek help or report a bug:
As always, we need as much information as possible to be able to fix any bug you may come across, so be descriptive and supply as much detail as you can when reporting a bug, not just "wifi not work...help pls".
Finally, I just want to thank the rest of the OpenKirin team (@surdu_petru, @OldDroid) for their huge contributions and all of you for your support.
Keep in mind, this is the first release, we want to see how it's working on the rest of variants and see how to improve it. The bluetooth issue will be fixed in the next update (it's disabled by now) and the cameras will hopefully be fixed as well soon, I'll provide more details in the coming days.
P.S: If you don't have TWRP I have uploaded a basic one in the Downloads section for you to flash the rom.

Been W8ing for this brother thnks...
Nice thanks for the work!!!
I will test on my PRA-LX1 and see if will boot since we share same platform, the hi6250!
Edited: tested, isn't booted, it's better to wait the official update.
where is the download?
Load page in your browser, then you will see the download tab
Maybe you can use the vendor partition (or some of it). The kernel source is already up, I'll upload the device and vendor tree shortly.

thanks, a curious question, I'm wonder if the hi6250 platform will get treble project support once got emui oreo?
Definitely, the Huawei P Smart and Honor 9 Lite have project treble enabled already, so I guess it will roll out to the rest of devices

Thanks for the first AOSP ROM . I can't try right now as I need booth Bluetooth and Volte for my daily usage and I expected they'll fixed soon.
When I read the post that there won't be EMUI 8 till Q2 of 2018.I thought without Treble Support I wouldn't be seeing any custom Roms but here I'm. Thanks again man
Thats great..

Which article says that emui 8 isn't coming out until Q2?
Nvm, found it. Checked that thread right after I replied here. Bummer right?!
Thank you so much for making this rom , i've installed this rom on my huawei honor 7x the international version , i noticed one tiny issue (maybe im doing something wrong) but i can;t seem to get gapps to install , i've tried installing open gapps , when i do that it shows a message in twrp that says my device is nougat and arm based , what i did is i just wiped data , i think that removes the encryption right ? but overall the rom works great , it's stable , and the one other issue is the builtin keyboard kept crashing , so i installed gboard, if you need any logs let me know so i can post them here
Edit:
gapps are working now , turns out i wiped the system partion before installing the zip and that messed some stuff up , but now i restored system and it worked fine , only other bug i found is the fingerprint doesnt seem to work

Awesome to see this here!

Can't get this to boot. Did full wipe, waiting 10+ minutes just hangs at the google splash screen for me. Any ideas? I don't typically have any issues with other roms, but I want to give this a try.

No SIM card detected + 'Internal system error' on 12th March build. Is the intended fix in tomorrow's release? Otherwise the ROM boots very beautifully and all!

Hey its working with latest build on server.
Everything works just do a clean flash with current build along with proper opengapps 64bit micro
I have just one big request: please fix 'OK Google Anywhere'. Just like on CM, it doesn't work here. The same bug also applies - when you set a voice model and reopen Google Now, if you disable the 'OK Google Anywhere' it immediately turns on again.
OK BullHead online,
everything works
Thanks for each one of you without u guys it could be difficult to understand whats going on !
Will make more stable on your feedback inputs .. Please try our latest build along with arm64bit opengapps
I wish i could have this device to make it perfect release ( initially (at-least someone donates to buy )

I have tried OpenGapps, SlimGapps and Banks Gapps - they all fail on CM (and Exodus ROM). It works on every AOSP-based ROM and it doesn't work on any CM-based ROM. Believe me, I have tried every ROM available for the Nexus 5X. I am running newest vendor (release 22, build number ending with 'J'). This issue appears to be widely known with CyanogenMod and frankly nobody ever fixed it.
Today's build works fine for me, thanks! And it seems very snappy, too!
Bugs found: no Bullhead in Exodus updater, so feature not working.
Suggestions: the display is set in cooler color mode, no way to change it; smart pulldown for notifications (no notifications, quick settings will appear); quick settings edit/rearrange; silent/vibrate mode chooser in power menu.

TeamHorizon's XenonHD rom builds for Google pixel xl marlin
[url]http://www.xenonhd.com/[/URL]
XenonHD is a custom firmware aka ROM for various Android devices. It is based on LineageOS 15.1 with additional features, performance and battery life improvements.
The idea behind XenonHD is to give users a ROM that is "blazing fast, rock stable and buttery smooth".
Important Info
To flash this rom you need TWRP version 3.2.0-0. Newer versions will not work.
This rom is based on the stock oreo 8.1 OPM1.171019.016 February 2018 rom from google. The instructions below assume your device is already on that rom. This is important because your device needs to have the vendor, radio, bootloader, and other img's from that rom. So, if you need to, flash the OPM1.171019.016 stock rom first. https://developers.google.com/android/images#marlin
Instructions
IMPORTANT NOTE: Twrp version 3.2.0-0 can't decrypt data if it's secured with pin, password, etc. So, before you begin go to lockscreen security settings and change it to 'none' or 'swipe'.
1. boot into twrp and wipe data, system, and dalvik/art cache
2. flash rom zip
3. flash twrp 3.2.0-0 zip
4. reboot -> recovery (this will reboot you into the other slot)
5. flash stock vendor img
6. mount -> vendor, then open the file manager and delete the /vendor/overlay folder
7. flash gapps zip (optional)
Reboot & enjoy.
If you have a issue with magisk latest install 15.0 first and then update some people are complaining of random reboots which they believe are magisk relate. Works fine for me though. To each their own I guess
I do not I repeat I do not (add support for Xposed issues ) I personally have used Xposed for testing purposes for this rom ,and it works fine but if you encounter issues do not complain as mods, kernels and other crap dont require me to offer me support for. Only rom issues

Looks very promising, I used to run xenon on many devices back in the day. ??

Things will remain stock for now cool chain is clang 4.9. I'm working on a custom kernel but as far as that goes it might be added soon it might not. I had to fix some tags in my trees and recompile to meet team standards. I will not be hosting privately as that isent allowed so from here on out all builds will be hosted by xenon team

Welcome to Team OpenKirin AOSP Project. Our goal is to provide
a overall stable AOSP experience across all Huawei/Honor phones
utilizing a Kirin SoC and EMUI 8.0 - either updated or shipped.
So far most of the bugs have been fixed and the ROMs are fully usable
as daily driver - and fully Kirin optimized.
This is the device support section for: Honor 7X.
Any bugs found on this device(s) can be reported here, please include proper logs if you encounter any issues.
We support 3 ROMs in total as of now - LineageOS (Unofficial), ResurrectionRemix OS (Official from Beta 2+), OmniRom
You can find all needed guides/roms on our official website:

I installed lineage os beta4 in my honor 7x (BND-AL10) like 1week ago using the same steps you guys mentioned in the openkirin site,I noticed 2major bugs-
1)the screen won't turn on when unlocked like for 10sec,and sometimes I need to reboot my device to unlock my phone that is irritating.
2)serious battery drain, false battery percentage, taking too much time to charge.
I have none of those issues on my BND -L24. Only issue I have found is Bluetooth skipping when streaming over WiFi.
Thanks for the development OpenKirin team! Any hope of portrait mode coming?
Android changed so much in the last oreo update ... you basically now need a stock recovery to have a custom rom ... wow
My question is : Does the rom flash a custom recovery with it ? say for installing Gapps or any flashable zip
EDIT : after some research i discovered that Gapps are included ... at least the play store is which is nice but i still have a question : can i flash this rom using fastboot method BUT having twrp instead of stock recovery ? just to be safe incase someting goes wrong during flash

I don't get why people always ask for VoLTE. If you need that feature enough to ask for it repeatedly, stick with the stock ROM. Since the developers didn't add it, there's obviously a reason they didn't do it, and bugging them for it won't change anything except annoying them more.

I am using stock rom. I crazily dislike the stock rom and wanting to change it, so i am looking for custom roms, and found out that none of the custom roms support volte. I didnt know whether it has been requested repeatedly or developler added it or not as i just started collecting information about root and custom rom stuff.
But your rude behaviour made me stop unlocking my bootloader, as it seems that i womt get any support from xda in future. Thanks for saving my warranty.
Does these AOSP based ROMs support VOLTE Video calling from default dialer?

Simply because team openkirin builds have hisilicon Kirin chipset based patches which are not present in regular GSI .... & Also, In RR official website, you'll find the Kirin based GSI... Both are maintained by openkirin team. Same build ...

What are you talking about? All the GSIs are supported on this device.
Time for the next build?
Any updates to OpenKirin builds? rocking AOSP build but prefer to land a dedicated honor build for 7x when it becomes stable.
How would subsequent updates work? Do they get pushed via OTA or would we have to check back and flash manually? Completely unfamiliar with Treble ROMs and how they work
ould anyone tell me the storage used for the RR build when fully flashed? Looking to ditch stock rom. thanks in advance

Just a quick update, that GSI is out of date and the one who made it is no longer an OpinKirin member. You will probably be better off trying out another Pie GSI in the Treble forums if that's what you're looking for.

FIRST AOSP 9 BASED ROM with Pixel Features especially for Kirin Devices
Disclaimer:
Welcome to Huawei-Kirin-Project.
We are a fully Open Source Organisation created by a Team of 5 People.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ
3) Ask here on xda If you can't find a solution

VERY IMPORTANT
-Before installing ROM for first time Wipe Data Partition with Stock Recovery.
-If you Update the ROM skip the wipe section in Instructions.
Bugs:
Pie:
- Hotspot broken
- Huawei Camera not Ported yet
Requirement for installing
EMUI 8 has to be flashed anytime before
Unlocked Bootloader
Stock Kernel,Recovery and Ramdisk has to be flashed
Instructions
1. Download ROM
2. Extract the system.img from .xz rom file.
3. Flash the system.img via fastboot (fastboot flash system pathTo/system.img)
4. Flash stock ramdisk.img and kernel.img (Extracted from EMUI ) if you haven't done before
5. Wipe Data in Stock Recovery
6. Reboot (first boot may crash simply reboot the device again)
(Optional)
After first boot you can use this instructions to flash Magsik on your device.
Magisk Guide
Additional notes
- Pie encryption stuff is incompatible with Oreo recoveries, so use recovery with no decryption for now
- If it reboots on the first boot, don't be surprised, it's ok.
- If it's stuck on a bootanimation - make sure that you did wipes properly (properly - means a data wipe in stock recovery)
- It's a pretty early build, so don't expect it to be rock stable. It's good for daily driver as long as you don't mind the minor issues it has now.
- GAPPS are included in every build

Yo damn im crying
I love OpenKirin Roms as they are Kirin Specific...
Thanks to this Gsi Team ....????
This is sweet music to my eyes I've flashed many different GSI's to the Huawei MediaPad M5 and none of them looked quite right (text fuzzy, not sharp), or something didn't work properly. Going to flash this one later tonight.
Thanks for the work on this, will post the results.
P20 lite supported, but not p20 Pro? Is there a specific reason? I read that other P gsi work on p20 lite, but on my Pro it doesn't even start booting.

Thx for this fast answering..
Thanks for developing for Kirin devices!
Thank you so much for this!
In the OP, you said that stock recovery, kernel, and ramdisk need to be flashed. If I'm coming from phh's Treble (8.1), do I need to flash the kernel and ramdisk again? I never installed TWRP, Magisk, or anything like that (I basically only touched system).
I've got the Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4" WiFi version, on first boot, the following services keep stopping: Bluetooth, Google, Google Play Services. Rebooted several times to no avail. Skipping everything get's me to the "Just a Sec" screen with the spinner.
This was a full factory image start, followed by the installation instructions. Has anyone else run into this with any device?

If you're absolutely sure you never touched the other partitions, then sure, go ahead and flash the rom only. Dont see why you wouldnt want to do it, it literally takes like 10 seconds to flash both of the files, including typing the commands.

Tablet version. Is your device the same flavor as mine: US 8.4" M5 WiFi only? I was able to flash the OpenKirin LineageOS Beta 5 without any app issues.

No i have eu Version of m5
I flashed it successfully on my Honor 7X. For the first boot it reboot automatically, but after that it was fine and I could complete the setup normally.
Everything seems to be working well so far (even MTP). The only bug I found is that the swipe down gesture on the fingerprint sensor does not bring down the notification shade. The rest of the fingerprint gestures work though (swiping for recents, tap to go back, hold to go home).

The display on this looks so promising compared to any of the other roms I have tried. Any chance I can work with you to try and get this working successfully?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Funny to see Huawei releasing proper vendor with EMUI 9 for BKL-L09, while dev units like mine are still waiting for update for the BKL-L04 :/
Anyway, looking forward to a less messy work! (oh boy, is that even possible with Huawei?)

I wouldn't say it's proper but it's definitely better than 8.x. Still the most annoying phone I've worked on so far.
I have had success flashing Pixel Experience ( AOSP Pie ) on my P20 Pro - although it does break TWRP and requires eRecovery to go back to EMUI and refresh TWRP to reload a custom ROM. Will this version boot on the P20 Pro ( as Pixel Experience does ) ? Thx LuK1337 for your hard work !

I would have a separate release for P20 Pro if wk wouldn't keep ignoring me on IRC lol.
Thanks for the nice bringup Luk! The new device tree works very well.
Ps: it's missing
Code:
allow platform_app nfc_service:service_manager find;
to get a working NFC tile (i can't test nfc though).
Since some time i've been using also this: Click to get Voice Match, if you are interested.
It'd be nice to have a working Flex's Huawei camera port too (Click), i tried it but at least on my build the app doesn't save photos (although it seems working well and even saves recorded videos).

1. NFC Tile seems to be working here. I suppose it's already allowed in lineage sepolicy,
2. I kinda wanted to include it some time ago but I couldn't find the apk in my dumps therefore I didn't do that. Now I see that it's in update_full_BKL-L09_hw_eu so I guess i'll include it soon,
3. Uh, I'm not including custom camera app in my build, sowwy. Also eh, I'm not really that familiar with apk hacking so I can't really help with getting it fully working.

love this rom, but it seems that this rom do not support multi-sim, there is no signal when put the sim card into second sim slot
