Hi everyone,
Nice to meet everyone here in the Honor 9 section, and in the whole forum, one of the best place ever
Btw, I've noticed this, when setting the Do Not Disturb mode, or setting some rules that switches it on or off, made the phone almost mute, except for alarms. And Whatsapp calls I mean neither whatsapp messages or anything else make the phone ring, but whatsapp incoming calls just override it. How this is even possible?
Then I've tried to set silent mode and tried to receive a Whatsapp call, and it keep it silent.
Is this a bug in the DND mode?
Thanks everyone for your replies
First time you enable DnD, it tells you it will filter only the notification without 'high priority' status and will show you a moon in status bar.
Seeing your post, i deduce whatsapp's incoming call notifications have this high priority status...
It's not so much do not disturb so...

Hi Oslo83,
Thanks for your quick replying.
Anyway my settings was Allarms only, so it shouldn't be ringing the same, right?
Btw, where I can find the notifications high priority status settings? I'm struggling to find it
EDIT:
Found it: when you select Allow only priority interruption, then the define priority setting voice become selectable.
Now I've set no calls, no sms, but I've no way to try it right now. I'll try it down, as soon as I can and then I'll write here if it works or not
EDIT 2:
Today I had the opportunity to try.
With no calls and no sms allowed, if I receive a Whatsapp call, the phone just vibrate. It won't ring but still vibrates, so it still override it, in some way. I'll post here if I find a solution.

Hi Guys,
I want my Galaxy S2 to vibrate only on incoming messages and ring on incoming phone calls.
Since the message tone is very short, In loud places, I am missing few messages.
Please let me know, if u know any app or settings to do this?
Regards,
C.Karthik
use a longer ring tone then,
create a folder in /mnt/sdcard/media/ringtones
put your ring tone (.mp3) in this folder,
and you can select it to be your ringtone
That might help, but is there any other way to vibrate alone?
for incoming call to ring only
set phone vibration to always off.
for sms to vibrate only
install and use handcent sms, and set the notification settings to vibrate always. and use a silent (empty) sound as ring tone.
it may work.
Hi guys,
Yesterday I updated my SGS2 to 2.3.5.
Since the update I have a problem with my sound.
If I set vibrate on 'always', there's no problem with the sound of incoming calls, and everything is fine and dandy. But putting vibrate on 'always' puts the vibrate icon in my statusbar. That makes the bar a bit too crowded for my taste.
That's why I normally have vibrate set on 'only in silent mode'.
But if I set the vibrate option on anything other than 'always' (for example 'only in silent mode'), incoming calls make no sound at all.
I've tried looking for an earlier thread, but found nothing concerning this problem.
Does anyone know what to do?
Hi,
First time poster and I registered just to see if I can get this question answered. My issue is that I really hate that when I change from sound to mute via the vibrate icon in the pull-down taskbar that it actually vibrates. I also hate that it vibrates when I push the volume putton down towards mute.
If im lying in bed with the Mrs and not wanting to wake her while I browse my phone i want to be able to go from sound to mute and when passing through vibrate that it actually doesnt vibrate (I dont need to be told im on that setting). There is an app called mute to do this but I wish I could disable the vibrate when changing profiles entirely. The icon tells me whether it is on vibrate or not without needing to vibrate to tell me I have moved onto the vibrate setting!! Same goes for during a meeting when I am toggling one way or the other i want to do it without making a noise. I know I could use the power button to go to silent mode but I prefer to use the dropdown menu.
With my iPhone I could have just changed a text file or something but I guess its different with android?
So essentially I only want my phone to vibrate when I am getting an alert like a call, text message, calendar alert etc and not when Im cycling through my sound profiles. Maybe Im weird and this doesnt bother anybody else but it would be great to hear if this is possible to hack?
Thanks
David
Hi there,
Whenever i speak on the phone and i get new notification, i get a constant background noise like the caller is engaged in another call, even while i am talking to them.
Anyone know how to not get notification during calls, or change the constant notification to something less evasive?
Kind regards,
Daniel
This isn't my first Galaxy S device so I know my way around all the settings but this one has me scratching my head. When my device is in 'Sound' mode my phone still vibrates when receiving notifications and I'm not seeing an option to turn it off in the Settings or Notification settings. Is anyone else running this issue? or is my phone just odd?
go into settings -> sounds and vibration -> vibration intensity
find the notification slider and turn it all to the left to turn vibrations off entirely

Yup, vibration intensity should give you all the adjustments you need for calls, notifications, etc.
The only problem with this method is that when my device is in 'Vibrate' mode, my device won't vibrate when I receive a notification. I even went to Bestbuy to check out their demo devices, and it turned out that even their devices were missing that option. I don't understand how/why Samsung would leave out such important feature. Fortunately for us, Samsung is one of those companies that actually listen and care about what their consumers want so hopefully they'll release a firmware update that addresses this issue.

I don't want my phone to vibrate while it rings or whenever I receive a text message. I want my phone to vibrate when in 'Vibrate' mode.
Same problem here. They completely removed the option to have your phone not vibrate with texts when sound is on. Wtf
