What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Menu
2. system settings
3. profiles
4. home key
5. menu
6. system settings
7. profiles (results in no profiles showing)
8. application groups (results in : Unfortunately, settings has stopped)
If you haven’t tried one yet, I would first recommend a soft reset. That’s done by simply removing the battery from your phone, allowing a minute to pass, and putting the battery back in and turning the phone off.
If you’re still experiencing issues with your Settings crashing, . It’s possible there could be some older apps that aren’t compatible with the new operating system that are causing problems.
If it does not work the soft reset
Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache + dalvik done.

"Unfortunately Contact Storage has stopped working" [FIX]

1. Clear Cache and Data
Try clearing the temporary storage area of your Contacts using these steps:
Go to Settings
Proceed to Application Manager
Select the All tab
Choose Contacts
Tap Clear Cache
Selecting Clear Data is optional since this will erase all the changes that you have made to some of your Phone app’s settings but it may solve the problem based on some users who have tried it.
Go back to the previous menu and choose Phone
Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data
2. Change Date Format
Go to Settings
Select More
Under Date and Time, change the format to 24 hours
3. Delete Rogue Apps
Start your phone under Safe Mode, observe if the problem occurs. If not, there is probably a third-party app causing the bug. Exit Safe Mode and try to recall the most recent app that you have installed prior to the problem. Disable it for a while to test whether the error still comes out.
4. Factory Reset or Flash Original Firmware.

[Q] Went to Recovery mode & cleared the cache & that bricked my phone!

I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Lolipop v5.0 Rooted.
When to the recovery options & cleared the cache option & selected reboot.
Read several threads saying this is 100% safe & recommended to do to speed up you phone.
When it rebooted I got the message
"Process system isn't responding
do you want to close it?"
Then I got several more pop ups
unfortunately, MTP app stopped
unfortunately, Media Storage has stopped
unfortunately, Settings has stopped
unfortunately, Security log agent stopped
unfortunately, Touchwiz home has stopped
unfortunately, Google play services has stopped
Those messages loop over & over & there is just a black screen behind them. Can't get to the menu.
Going to the recovery menu again, I have these options left:
-reboot system now
-apply update from adb
-apply update from external storage
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-apply update from cache
Will any of those (OUTSIDE OF WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET) unbrick my phone?
Too afraid to touch anything now.
Also at the very bottom of the recovery menu there is some wording if that matters at all:
# manual mode #
-- appling multi-csc..
applied the csc-code: spr
Successfully applied multi-csc.

My 7.1 thinks it's a 7 Plus, and so won't update

I've got a Nokia 7.1, which in System-About Phone says it is a 7.1, TA-1096. But when I sideload a stock ROM (to move from Oreo to Pie) it says 'E: package is for product CTL_Sprout but expected B2N', and refuses to install it. My understanding is CTL-Sprout is the 7.1, and B2N is the 7 Plus.
It also:
- fails to find that any OTA updates are available despite being on 8.1;
- won't take a B2N ROM by sideload (says 'E:failed to verify whole file signature', 'E:signature verification failed' and 'E:error 21'); and
- interacts fine with ADB when booted or in recovery, but isn't recognised by the fastboot devices command when in 'download mode'., so I haven't been able to flash TWRP.
It all seems strange to me, but I'm not very experienced. I originally put the phone aside when I found there was not going to be a bootloader unlock, and am keen to now get it to Q and try to root it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Hi oujdamp. It doesn't look promising I'm sorry … I started a similar thread on the Nokia forums and got some useful (but disappointing) information. The link is here: https://community.phones.nokia.com/discussion/59020/my-7-1-thinks-its-a-7-plus-and-so-wont-update
Hi.
I just contact nokia care about my case . And he ask me to floww thes steps
1. Go to Settings > Apps and notifications > App info > Google Play services > Storage > Clear data and Clear cache
2. Settings > Security and location > Location Off
3. Please remove the phone SIM card.
4. After that, please check for the update availability via Wi-Fi network: Settings > System > System update > Check for update
5. Soft reset: Press and hold at the same time Power key and Volume Up for Only 10 sec, until short phone vibration and Powered by Android message. Your phone will restart, without deleting your data.
VPN Steps:
After trying the above steps if the issue still remains, you can try to use VPN:
Turn Location off: Go to Settings > Security and location > Location > Tap to switch it Off.
Download a VPN from Play Store.(Any VPN application)
Clear Cache and data of Google Play services: Settings > Applications > Google Play Services > cache and data
Deactivate Google Play Services. Navigate to Settings > Apps and notifications > See all apps > Google Play Services > Disable
(In case you cannot Disable it Please go to "settings" - "Security" - "Device Administrators" - Turn OFF "Find my device" try the steps 2 again).
Then go to "Settings" - "Location" Turn it OFF. Soft reset the device.
Now open the VPN app that you have downloaded and run it.
Check for the Update.
Go to "Settings" - "Apps"- Look for Google Play Services and Enable it.
But i cant finish thoses steps . Once i disable google services tbe update option disapear

Question N200 require reboot every day to Clear an app's cache

So I am using one of the app that connect to daily online course, and the phone kept go to the yesterday course unless I have to reboot the phone before using the app. This Never happen to me when I was using the old Moto X4 or the old LG G6.
I did the Close all app, but no chance
Any Idea?
Settings -> Apps & notifications -> [your app] -> Storage & cache -> Clear cache.
Should let you get the current course without a phone restart.
There's faster way
Touch and hold the app, choose info (circled i)
Storage and cache, clear cache
