Hello friends,
I'm trying to root my device (Xperia Xa Ultra Nougat/F3211)
I did everything this wrote here
But after flashing boot.img and recovery.img, my device is turning on normally. I can not get into recovery mode.
my ftf file is version 36.1.x.1.86 but your shared boot.img version 36.1.x.0.182, maybe that's the problem
I try 3 days. I apologize for the bad english.
I am waiting for your help urgent

Hi, I answered the question here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xa...-to-root-xperia-xa-ultra-noob-t3639729/page13
My boot.img is outdated but it's not a problem to boot recovery. I'm pretty sure that you can easily find a 36.1.x.1.86 custom boot.img for your phone and who is better than stock ?
you need 6.0 firmware for the "flashtool" boot delivery procedure before flashing modified boot image and recovery .

Hi, I'm kind of a noob, so sorry if this is a dumb question.
I just installed the new Lollipop Fimware on my Z2, using Flashtool. Now I want to root the device, but reading through articles on XDA or XperiaBlog, they all said you need to use older firmware. So my question is, can you root the Z2 with Lollipop?
I'd be grateful for helpful answers.

Things needed:
PC, fastboot driver, know how to boot to bootloader(fastboot mode) and recovery mode
Now you can without having old kernel (not firmware)
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/kernel-andropluskernel-v10-t2974841 extract boot.img from the zip file.
Boot your phone to fastboot mode and in command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Go to recovery mode after restarting and then get UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and flash it via newly installed TWRP recovery.

Same here. I'm a noob wanting to learn how to root. But this went over my head :/
Would using PRF creator work? If you bundled the lollipop firmware with supersu.zip and flashed it would it give you lolipop with root? Because this is what i did to update to 4.4.4 with root. For anyone that doesnt know PRF creator is a program which combines 3 files which is are firmware of your choice, a superSU.zip and a recovery.zip. It combines them into a .zip that you can flash in recovery and have the firmware with superSU and a custom recovery on it.
I have a locked bootloader and mines rooted, do you want me to say how?
If its on lollipop, i would very much like to know how.
Isn't this the exact same answer as rooting 4.4.4?
Downgrade to 4.4.2
Root
Install recovery
Install rooted lollipop zip in recovery
If you don't understand this or the method posted above don't root. Also, if.you can't google things like fastboot to understand what it is don't root.

Bootloop
Everything was fine, till i tried superSU. Twrp flashed it fine, but then when i tried to reboot, the device got stuck in a bootloop.
wipe cache/delvik also didnt help.
I have a new z2, then unlocked the bootloader, and then got the Norway rom using xperifirm.
Norway rom installed fine. twrp installed fine. But i am facing a bootloop now that i have flashed UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
Anybody else face this issue?

try wiping just "Dalvik Cache" and restart again. I have also face similar strange issue when I was using FlashTool a couple of times.
If that doesn't work try normal wiping from TWRP and install firmware using FlashTool.

I'm no Android/Lollipop/Rooting expert but using an unlocked boot loader I was able to root Lollipop (23.1.A.0.690 ) easily using the kernel from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ot-stock-flashable-kernel-23-1-0-690-t3061816
My steps were:
1. Install Lollipop
2. fastboot flash boot boot.img (to install above mentioned kernel with TWRP recovery)
So far so good.
PS: To use fastboot you'll likely need the drivers from flashtool (http://www.flashtool.net/index.php) and if on Win 8.1 you'll need to search for instructions on how to install unsigned drivers.

Hi,
I will release here my updated "boot.img" files for all Xperia XA Ultra.
You must have an unlocked bootloader to flash with Fastboot.
You don't need to be on the same firmware as the boot image that you want to flash.
You have to flash SuperSu again from TWRP just after flashed new boot to avoid bootloop. Not needed on 33.2.B.4.70 and upper.
All boot images have "ro.secure=0" and "ro.debuggable=1" in default.prop file
and "forcencrypt" of internal memory switched to "encryptable" in fstab.mt6755 file, "dm-verity" is disabled by default.
They will probably not work on upper firmwares than the one they are built.
The Fastboot command is:
fastboot flash boot NAMEOFIMAGE.img

For f3212

I don´t understand quite well (sorry for my ignorance, i´m new to this stuff), so i flash supersu from twrp ¨just after flashed new boot¨ to avoid boot loop.....does that mean flash supersu after flashed twrp right away? how do i avoid bootloop? my build number is 36.0.A.1.100, should i worry about it?
my model is f3213
Thanks a lot

All boot released here are for Nougat only. You have Marshmallow so you are not on the right place
Why don't you update your phone to a recent MM firmware? .100 is very old and only useful for making TA backup.
can you guys work on kernel? cause charging speed is cancer and maybe you can set max cpu clocks a bit higher?
Hi @rrvuhpg
looking forward the update of your work?
Is there anyway to install or switch to magisk after flash this boot image?
I've tried but error 1 i love magisk simplicity
This kernel gives me, NVRAM Warn. error on Wifi, please fix it

I have an Xperia XA Ultra single sim, I am root right now with this kernel, but I get an error on mi Wifi settings, it says "NVRAM warning error" I'm on nougat "36.1.A.1.86", I think the error is caused because of the dual kernel you made for both versions of XA Ultra (Single and dual Sim), can you please make individual kernels for individual versions?. thanx in advance.

Hi, kernel sources are unified for single and dual Sim models so I can't build individual kernel. I think that your problem is because you are on a newer firmware than my kernel. I will not update my work, maybe an other user can do it for you.
36.1.A.0.182 is still with error

Hi, thanks for your answer, I just followed your advice, and now I can see is not the firmware, is the kernel who causes the problem. I just installed the 36.1.A.0.182 firmware version from flashtool, and installed the kernel, following your tutorial for root, but I'm still having the same problem. I must say that I successfully did root my previous phones in Nougat and marshmallow (Xa-E5-L1) and marshmallow in the Xa ultra too, but is only the Nougat version of XA ultra who gives me this problem, can you check it please?. I wanted to use another kernel from XDA, but I can't see any other, so please you are the only one person who can fix this. thanx in advance.

There are threads here that supports f3212, Be sure to read them all mate and be reminded of it's requirements like unlocked bootloader etc
Hello dev
My xperia Z2 was rooted and running on Lineage 15 unofficial also rooted by magisk. My wish was i want to restore my original ta backup to my device and i tried with this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/how-to-unlock-bl-kernel-twrp-root-t3541648 after this bootloader is locked and device is brick.
Now device functions as only flash mode but unable to flash stock please help
First of all you have a z2 and you are following a guide of XZ.You should have used this guide as it is much more simple https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598. Secondly when did you restore the ta backup were you on stock rom or lineage os 15? and if you were on lineage then it would brick as phone would not let another kernal boot. Make sure all drivers are installed and flash stock ftf using flashtool available at xda for z2. If flash tool is giving an error please tell
Hi thanks for reply yes I was on lineage, but the thing is that now in this situation flashtool able unlock boot loader again in flash mode but not flashing stock also fastboot is not working please give a solution
use lower flashtool version . 0.9.19.2 for example like im using right now .
Can you mirror it for me please
Hi dev's now i had recovered my Z2 Using EMMA but before bricked i am able to use $g services In india on My D6503 but now phone doesn't able to search 4G network tried with different firmware RU and MEA please Help.......
Hello guys,I tried to root my Honor 7A with no success and now I'm in a bootloop situation.
I first unlocked bootloader succesfully with dc-unlocker2client. Then I installed this TWRP version 0.4 with adb fastboot:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3783447
I couldn't get other TWRP to work. Finally in TWRP I tried to install Magicsk (several versions-18,17,16) but it came up with error 1.
I've dowloaded stock rom AUM-L29C185CUSTC185D1B140 from official site, extracted ABOOT.img, tried to flash it but no success, something wrong with partition, but I cant recall exactly. Then I accidentally did this: fastboot flash ramdisk ABOOT.img .Bootloop!!
I tried to flash extracted ramdisk,kernel,recovery_ramdisk again but still the same issue.I did 2 factory resets in stock recovery but the problem persists.
Please can anyone help?Is my phone wasted??
Anyone please?
