Been wondering how it hasnt been posted yet so i whipped one up
Could anyone explain the advantages of having a boot img with no force encrption? I read that it allows flashing tweaks etc but I seem to be able to do that now via twrp. Manual changes to build prop seem to survive reboots too. Is it a performance thing? Thank you

currently i m on weta 9.4 on 7.0, want to flash 7.1.1 without loosing root & data... should i ?
Work nice !!!
Thank you. :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Flash OTA 7.1.1 zip via TWRP, than flash SU. And let it boot. You'll have Rooted 7.1.1 up and running you'll lose TWRP but since your rooted you can use Flashify to flash TWRP. Files needed OTA, SU, and TWRP.img file.

In fastboot type fastboot erase userdata than fastboot erase cache. This will wipe your data. But also removes forced encryption.

You have to use the correct boot.img file
The boot file and the firmware should be of the same version
I downloaded here in xda a rootkit that there says is for my version but it didn´t work for my phone. just like previous user i have the F3213.

Hi all...
Since this phone is launching with Oreo, it should be treble supported..! Just needed some confirmation if the bootloader of this device is unlockable and if we can flash any GSI of LineageOS 15.1 or ResurrectionRemix ROM and see if it works and what are the bugs..!
So if anyone could manage to do that and if flashing and booting the GSI succeeded, please start a new thread explaining the process with links..!
Hope it boots GSI..! :fingers-crossed:

Hmm I expect the same..! Just needed some confirmation..!
Oppo f7 (and I presume the realme 1) has had it's fastboot binaries deleted.
This makes it highly difficult to port twrp or cwm
I believe the oppo f5 had done the same and hasn't been rooted till date

I just got my phone and i wanna root it straight out of the box but no twrp available yet, is there a twrp which would work?
According the the OP, this one should work.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-recovery-t3976961/page6
In term of rooting, I have to idea if flashing magisk is enough or if there's a need for a patches boot image.

doesn't work, unable to mount partitions
Until the is a fully functioning version of TWRP for Android 10, this is a moot point. At this time, TWRP is not fully functioning with Android 10. That isn't a Oneplus incompatibility, it's an Android 10 incompatibility.
That being said, you don't need TWRP to root your phone. Since Oneplus released the factory image, you can use Magisk and the "Boot Image Patching" method.

I realized I was looking at the 7t image, not the 7t Pro image. I guess you will have to wait a little longer until the 7t Pro image is released. Sorry for the confusion!

Installing TWRP is just one command.
But don't bother, it's useless as of right now on devices launched with Android.

Is there no way to delete the existing partitions, create a partition suitable for flashing an OP7P ROM, and then flash a fully working TWRP? I am more interested in doing NAND backup/recovery than I am flashing ROMs; Being able to do both would be a plus.

You can repartition your phone like an 7 Pro, but its very risky and something msmtool won't be able to revert/revive.
You have to use others which I don't think are even available for us.
