Hello,
I have recently purchased a Galaxy S3 and have the following problem: everytime I open a program (via Link (Tapatalk) or from the contacts (SMS/WhatsApp))
I get the notification if I wish to open the same type Always or Just once with the respective program.
Everytime I choose "Always", the phone tells me that I can reset the default app settings in the Application menu, but it doesn't remember my choice,
so I have to redo this step again and again.
I installed several Original and Custom ROMS and Kernels, all with the same error. I always install a new ROM with full data/cache/dalvik wipe.
Anyone had the same problem or knows how to fix this?
Kind regards.

I've installed a custom Rom [Chaos] without a keyboard, and then flashed my favourite keyboard, Swiftkey, via CWMod.
During the Phone Startup wizard, this keyboard wasn't active, so I had to skip all the steps.
One of the steps was entering your name ("for personalising the phone").
I've gone through and manually configured everything else, but I can't find anywhere to enter my name in this way.
Does anybody know how I can configure this?
just curious - why do yo need it?
This is normally Security > Owner info (I think)
Just a note, I would not recommend removing the stock keyboard or launcher. These are essential for fall back if something goes wrong. Even if you're flashing a keyboard to /system/app, it's best to keep stock handy.
After updating my HTC One M8 with the newest ROM (Android Revolution HD) I have to face to some problems:
The swipe gesture to show the system buttons to exit applications in full-screen (immersive mode) was not working. Moreover, some apps like Seeder was crashing every time.
After two days of googling, flashing, trials and errors I have found the cause.
After flashing the new ROM I have restored all the apps with data using the Titanium Backup. Then I have restored the data of the system apps. And that was causing the problems.
If you restore the data of the system apps from an older system select only those you really need (SMS, contacts, etc.).
I have a big problem: I can not use message app, google, etc because the keyboard doesn't work. Please help!
Clear the data and cache of your respective keyboard app.. and make sure your keyboard apps are installed or not.
Eventually you can just place some apk file with some keyboard into your storage and install it.

Hey guys.
I have encountered an EXTREMELY frustrating problem with android 9/10.
I was messing with some options in my phone like 'data usage' and 'permissions' & disabling some apps using adb & greenify.
All of this was common stuff that I'd always mess with, on Oreo.
On oreo when my system apps 'wigged out' I could flash my stock rom a couple times and the system apps/services would go back to normal (Inactive).
On android 9/10 though, I notice that when these same system apps go haywire there is no way to reset them back to their default behavior.
My phone is running about 9 extra services than it should be (mostly samsung services). Also, my battery drain is draining about 25% faster than it should be.
Things I've tried:
1. Wipe data/factory reset.
2. Wipe cache.
3. Reset app preferences from app menu.
4. Reset all settings from reset menu.
5. Flashed firmware multiple times, using odin.
6. Flashed combination rom, to clear google data (this one fixed some of the rogue services, but not all of them).
7. Install combination rom and try factory reset from within the rom.
(Next, 8), I'm going to try Smart switch (PC) to reinstall firmware.
Some of the rogue services I'm referring to:
com.qualcomm.atfwd
com.qualcomm.embms
SVC Agent
Call & text on other devices
com.sec.imsservice:CloudMessageService
android:drmService
Software update
Bluetooth service
Samsung Push Service
Smart Switch (fixed by #6)
Samsung cloud (fixed by #6)
Find my mobile (fixed by #6)
(All these were inactive by default, but after disabling some samsung system apps these are now permanently stuck on).
(I'd like to remind you, I could fix all of the above services from running on oreo, with a simple double firmware flash).
I'm thinking I need to wipe my "system partition", but without root this seems almost impossible.
Has anyone encountered this issue before?
Does anyone know how to wipe/format system partition without root?
Any other suggested ideas would be huge. Thanks.
