I'm having trouble with bluetooth connectivity on a brand new LG V30.
It appears some others have had issues as well where it will just stop the connection randomly, or other miscellaneous bs.
Is there a solution? Can I downgrade firmware? I'm at a loss here.
Sidenote: can I emulate a phone and it use my laptops Bluetooth to troubleshoot or connect and push settings to an external bluetooth unit in the meantime? I've used bluestacks before, but never for something like this.
edit: bluestacks wont work, can anyone confirm that a VM with an android x86 will work?
I realise this is a bit old now. I've had similar problems. Clearing data and cache of the system bluetooth apps seems to have helped.

Anyone have any luck Tethering the TrueSmart to a phone via BlueTooth? When opening the bluetooth entry for my phone, "Use for Internet" isn't available.
Bluetooth Tethering on the phone is turned on and I use it frequently with my tablet, so I know it's working on the phone side of things.
As far as I know, there's no known way to bluetooth tether the ts yet, but I'm sure some people here are pretty close to get that working.

Upon doing some testing, it may be the fact that the bluetooth on my OTS doesn't reliably connect to my phone (Moto X Stock).
It's probably also why notifications from the companion app are so sporadic at best.
Anyone else seeing this?
both my android phones (htc one, nexus 5) are very slow on my wifi. Play store images wont load and my facebook newsfeed doesnt upadte. Other apps like chrome however work. How can i fix this so that all the apps work. I have already cleared cache and done a factory reset of both the phone and router. Thanks for you help.
Might Be Stock Software
Honestly there are a lot of variables in the ROM that can cause differences in network performance. It would be useful to know what carrier you're on for the one and also a comparison in speed to something non android on the wifi.
I don't know if the good post but I've got WIFI problem on tablet Polaroid MID 9748 Android 4.2.2 kernel 3.0.36, CPU RK3188
Tell me if I've been moderated.
For example, when I switch from an application to the other as my browser to google play, I've to switch my tablet in plane mode in and out for refreshing the WIFI connection.
I don't know where this problem is coming from because I'dont have any problem for watching streaming also the wifi card should work fine.
Could be MTU problem? How to check?
Thank for advise
Heyyyy,
So I have a Samsung Galaxy V, Unrooted, and Locked Bootloader. I've been trying to use all sorts of remote apps that require to sync itself with my wifi connection (i.e. remote control, universal remote, mobile gamepad) but to no avail. The kinds of troubleshooting advice I usually get or read about generally just tell me that it SHOULD connect itself automatically after I install the server thing on my pc but it never does. This goes with all said apps. I've tried pinging my pc to the ports required to be connected to through my smartphone but nothing seems to be out of place, I even checked a few things that I could understand on my router settings but I've never really figured anything out.
In short, I would like to ask if anybody knows of a way to possibly diagnose the problem that might be causing my smartphone to not sync up with my wifi regardless of having the same connection.
If it matters, my phone is on a wifi, but my pc is wired, however that doesn't seem to be much of a problem according to the many troubleshooting attempts I've read, but yeah, that's basically the stiffy.
Thanks for your time, cheers.

Ok somewhat an obscure issue, and the fix that lets a VPN work over tether does not seem to fix it.
I first encountered this on I think 4.3 or 4.2 with my Galaxy Nexus prime. I would use a wifi hotspot, and all connections work fine except for when connecting my playstation Vita. It would say it could not login. So I do a connection test and everything is okay except the attempt to sign into playstation network.
I found maybe 2 other people with the same problem on different devices. I now own a rooted fire phone on 4.6.1. It too has this same problem. And it's believed by some that after 2.1 or 2.2 all native versions of wifi hotspot have this issue. I've tried treve mod, the vpn fix, and a handful of wifi hotspot apps with no luck. I don't know if these apps work as I could not establish even a normal connection through them.
I believe what I need is a kitkat compatible wifi app that doesn't rely on the native hotspot, or some way to modify it if anyone knows what's causing the blockage.
edit: To solve it on my old phone, I actually had to downgrade android to jellybean. I can't do that with this phone though.
Thanks for any help with this.
Anyone know what the problem is where Android 6.x and now 7.x where apps do not work for connecting over temporary (non-internet connected) wifi networks to set up a device? For example I can't set up a Google Home or a Vizio smart TV, a Ring Wi-Fi doorbell or connect to a Wi-Fi action camera on my 7.1.2 device, basically anything where a device sets up a temporary network does not work, but if I dig out an old tablet running kitkat or something it work work fine to complete the setup. Since Android 6.x in my experience it will connect to the device's Wi-Fi but fails anyway as if no data is being transferred or something. It seems to be a common problem and it is something I've been dealing with for a good 18 months. Anyone know what the issue is and maybe a workaround for it?
