Android Infotainment Ultra Wide Car Dashunit - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Iam planing to Upgrade my Car Infotainment System.
I want to integrate an ultra wide Display with an Display Ratio of 21:6
And operate it with an Android Board Like an Odroid xu4
As the Display is ultra wide i want to permanently Display 2 apps at the same time next to each Other. These Apps should be displayed in a fixed Layout (one App Covers 2/3 of the width and the Other 1/3)
as the Layout should be fixed and i want the Apps displayed next to each Other right from Startup iam searching for a way to achiev this.
I need a way to permanently "Split"/devide the Screen and a way to start on These splitted Screen halfes an App on Startup.
Is there Any way to achiev this?
I hope for some ideas.
With Kind regards.

[Q] Modifying screen image in android

I am connecting my Nexus 4 to a projector - but the resulting image is trapezoidal due to keystone. I want to be able to control this using software such that the image that goes out of the android is already corrected for this problem (In such a case, the projection will get smaller for the wider edge of the trapezoid and will be equal to the narrow edge; the remaining area can be black pixels.) There are two things to do here - one is the actual algorithm for keystone correction, which I think I have found here - Algorithm for software keystone correction. Any other efficient algos? And the second is how to modify the displayed screen in android to the one I want to send (if I were somehow able to change the android screen resolution to a trapezoidal value!). I don't mind distorting the phone display as long as the projected display is good. Also, would prefer this for any running app, not necessarily my app. Thanks a ton!

[Q] Miracast to fullscreen in portrait

Hi,
I'm trying to screen cast from a Nexus 4 to a large screen TV (using a PTV3000). I want to put the TV in portrait mode and have the screen case occupy the entire screen, however I don't seem to find a way to accomplish this. When the phone's orientation is vertical (portrait) it assumes the TV is in landscape orientation and the phone screen is displayed small in the middle of the TV with black space on the sides.
After doing some searching it seems that this behavior can only be changed with a custom ROM, however I haven't been able to pinpoint where in the AOSP tree this behavior can be changed. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks!

[Q] Display viewport only at the right bottom of the screen

I have a Geniatech ATV1220 android set top box running android 4.2.2 and am using an arduino with motion sensor connected to it to modify content on a website when someone is in front of the sensor via NodeJS.
This works great, but what I would like to do is to manipulte the complete system viewport of the android system. For example if someone steps in front of the sensor, the whole system should be displayed in a reduced size like 1/4 original at the bottom right side of the screen while the other area should just display black or basically nothing.
It is really hard to find something because of the pretty common keywords like display, viewport, size and so on. I could probably do it dependent on individual applications but I also want to use it in third party applications, which I cannot modify.
Currently I am sometimes using commands like this:
Code:
echo 1 >/sys/class/graphics/fb0/blank
to modify the actual content that is displayed, in this case it all turns black/blank and I wonder if there is a similar way to achieve what I want to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

[Q] Editing a Built-In App

Hello,
My Xperia Z2 is the Brazilian version D6543 which comes with Digital TV App built in.
The thing is that the app does not rotate with the cellphone, even if i keep on landscape mode, that position cause the earphone/antenna entrance keeps turned to left and positioned on lower side of the mobile. Due to ergonomic needs i need that my phone entrace keeps right and upside of the device. Is there a way to edit a built-in app in order to change the rotation value?
Thanks in advice.

M5 8.4 - Is It Possible To Restrict Screen Width In App?

Hello,
Recently purchased the M5 8.4 and I wish to use a sun hood with it.
However, it seems there are only 8.0" sun hoods available.
Some of the important icons are obscured by the sun hood.
Is it possible to restrain the screen width of the app? To make the rendered image just a little narrower in portrait.
Losing some screen off top and bottom would not be a problem if this is the only option.
It's for use with one app - X-hubsan.
I'm not an experienced android user.
If there's a more appropriate place to ask please let me know.
Thanks.
