In all the roms, in which the gcam work?
AospExtended v5.2 official with this https://drive.google.com/file/d/1b-xmIoiG0knaUl2nsH1m-xf_zGElx7xP/view?usp=drivesdk is the best combination for me. Hdr+ for both front and back cameras, portrait mode, slow motion. The only thing not working is slow motion, never needed it anyway
Slim7
Everything works. HDR+. Slow motion. You name it.
In AICP 13.1

Hello XDAers,
I'm on Lineage OS 14.1 with the GCam installed. It works well except for when I zoom to take a picture (or even the portrait mode on the rear camera) the image after clicking is shifted to the right. I'm attaching examples below.
The first picture is a screenshot of what I'm actually focussing on. The second pic is the actually picture clicked. As you can see it always shifts to the right!
This happens with the LOS stock cam and all versions of GCams when I zoom. Portrait mode (which is 1.5x zoomed by default) also has the same problem!
Any help will be appreciated!
Known bug
Is it a bug in LOS or in the device itself? I bought it as an X829.
It would be great if you can share what this bug is called and any links describing it
It's a bug with Nougat and this device (camera blob problem). It's only digital zoom anyways, so nobody really cares.
True. My only gripe with it is the problem caused in the portrait mode (GCam). Otherwise doesn't bother me so much.
Thanks!
The only way to have correct zoom is by using pic size of 16:9.
hope some one else have a batter solution with the size of 4:3 so we can enjoy the full power of the camera.
I have the same problem but left-shifted and only on Messenger camera. In GCam i haven't this problem .
Thanks @ali7_has !
That's pretty unusual that you have a problem only with the messenger cam.
I haven't this problem on stock ROM or other based stock but I have this in Nougat and Oreo ROMs ( i tested 2 roms Nougat and one Oreo ROM). I have this only in Messenger cam, in GCam or preinstalled cam iI have no issue
thanks to @prsapphire the zoom is working correctly even for 4:3.
fist I installed his EUI 6.0 from this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/rom-eui-6-0-0617t-prerc-port-x850-t3739612
than I clean install AICP oreo and now the zoom is working correctly.
I think his modem firmware is the solution for our zoom problem.

Are you sure? That didn't solve it for me. Still right shifted in 4:3 ratios.
EDIT: Just installed latest Pixel Experience and low and behold, zooming works correctly. However I think this might be to do with the fact it's now using the open source Camera HAL?
Heyyo, use Camu from the Play Store. It's the only camera app without that issue... Not sure why tbh.
As for Oreo ROMS? If they use the new Open Source Camera HAL? They won't have the zoom issue. It's a known bug with the camera shim used in Nougat and early Oreo ROMs.
I have installed android 8.1 pixel experience rom on my redmi note 4, and I can't get slow motion recording to work, gcam always crashes, I tried open camera and set fps to 120 but it doesn't seem to work, it just records normal, I tried snap camera HDR and doesn't work, I've seen something about installing a magisk module fore the OP3 that enables HEVC ,and apparently works on some Xiaomi devices, I tried it and at first it seemed to work, slow motion didn't crash gcam and the viewfinder showed an image quality similar to that of MIUI stock camera in slowmo mode, but when I record the video it works for 1 second and freezes, then every time I try to open the camera the image is frozen until I reboot the phone

It doesn't look like slow motion in op ?, I think they just slow the video for that reason there is a frame drop issue in slow motion

"Latest experimental oreo version (20180308) works perfectly (even with slow motion) on RR 6.0.0 and AOSP Extended 5.3, good job! I only miss option to save Pictures to SD Card by default, is it possible to implement this into settings somehow? "
Also I can confirm that camera (also slowmotion and timelaps) working fine in RR O 6.0
give snapdragon camera a try
Hello everyone
I'm trying to install Gcam port on my mido (Redmi Note 4) running LineageOS 15.1 but whenever I try to capture a picture from rear camera with HDR or HDR enhanced mode enabled it stops working, It crashes every time while processing HDR+ and also when I try to capture a pic in portrait mode with rear camera. And surprisingly it happens with rear camera only, and works just fine with front camera.
For more information I want to tell you that I already tried enabling HAL3 and Camera2API.
Please help me making it work. PLEASE.
I need gcam pixel 3 for oreo mido
still waiting
Hey guys!
After searching a lot on the internet I've finally found a GCam port which is pretty much Stable.
Tested on:
Max Pro M1 6GB
V340 Oreo Firmware
Locked bootloader
What's working:
Portrait Mode (Front and Rear)
NO SHUTTER LAG! xD finally
Video Stabilization
HDR+
Enhanced HDR+
Bugs
Front Flash does not light up.
Slow Motion video isn't working.
I know it's a very old Arnova build but believe me I experienced a shutter lag in every GCam except this.

Do thank the post if the GCam worked well for you :good:
I saw that all the threads about anxcamera got closed because they contained links to the anxcamera website, violating rule 13, which is why I won't be posting any links here. I just hope to be able to discuss ANXCamera tips and tricks in this thread, just like we can in the gcam thread.
There is now an ANXCamera version available for android R, which is great for the people on aosp custom roms. I am particularly interested in ANXCamera for the wide angle lens because gcam doesn't do wide angle lens distortion correction as of now, and the MIUI camera also has a little more options for video recording. The video recording for the main lens works really well, all 1080p and 4k modes work, also their AI 8k whatever that is works fine. For some reason EIS only appears to be working on [email protected], [email protected], it doesn't work at all for 4k and [email protected] Most of the alternative modes on the main camera, panorama slowmotion etc seem to work fine. 64MP seems to give me an overly saturated (like it's deepfried) image and the night mode processes infinitely. On top of that, no AUX lenses appear to be working. Portrait mode doesn't work, wide angle lens crashes the camera and there is no option for the macro lens. At least the front camera works fine, I usually prefer it over gcam for selfies because gcam shows too much detail in selfies. All my testing is done on the derpfest R rom with the latest firmware.
So in short, ANXCamera for R is pretty broken right now and I would only use it for selfies and video recording in some cases.
Too bad this discussion did not get any replies yet.
@GalaxyTroll, which version of ANXCamera did you test? I noticed on the website that in the changelog of v204 lmi is mentioned, but the wiki states that it still needs to be tested on this device.
I'm hesitating to test this version myself, because due to personal circumstances I might not be able to restore my phone in case something goes wrong and for now I'm totally depending on it. Did anybody try v204 on the Poco F2 Pro?
I'm on Lineageos 18.1.
The version I tested here was 185R by Noid. I also just tested version 190R (on 19-09 crdroid) and it's still pretty bad, in some ways worse than 185R. For starters, EIS doesn't appear to be working at all anymore. "Steady Mode" can only record in [email protected] and even then it's not even applying EIS. The only available video options are [email protected] [email protected] and [email protected] and those work fine, but I couldn't find a 4k option so I think it's gone.. H265 encoding doesn't work although H264 works fine. Slowmotion and timelapse modes seem to be working just like in the previous version.
As for photos, wide angle lens is still broken but this time "super macro" switches to the macro lens so that works now. Portrait mode does seem to work this time, and it seems to apply the bokeh effect correctly. Panorama mode still works as well. However 64M mode still produces wayy overexposed photos and Night Mode results in a "cannot connect to camera" error.
Props to Noid for making this mod. but for our device it's still a long ways off. Too bad that EIS doesn't work at all anymore because video recording was one of the things anxcamera could do possibly better than gcam.
btw @heinhuiz v204 does not work at all when I tested it, it's not even able to connect to the main camera and the app just closes.
