Hi i feel like LG g5se (h845) screen is to cold or bluish. There is no comfort view or reader mode like other LG phones. Even the cheap Stylus 2 have that option.
What can i do to reduce this? I don't like overlays, please don't suggest me overlays. I already tried enabling night mode for android nougat, but the result is too yellowish and no way to change the intensity.
There is no root either for h845. So color control is a no go.
I'm frustrated with this phone. What can i do?
Thanks. Please share you opinions guys. Why LG is just abandoning this phone.

I just got a Galaxy Note and have some questions and concerns:
1. The speaker seems very tinny and distorted anywhere close to maximum volume – almost like a blown speaker rattles. It sounds like I am talking to someone via two tuna cans and string. Can you crank your speaker phone volume all the way up without any distortion?
2. Screen color saturation: The colors are way too over saturated. I’ve made the cursory adjustments to brightness and found one interesting app called “Screen Adjuster” and while it allows for general color balance and contrast changes, it won’t let me do much anything with saturation. Anyone know of any apps specifically designed to do this or how to adjust color saturation on this gadget?
3. Screen in general: I had to turn off Automatic Brightness as it seems the screen was dimming/lighting every few seconds. Has anyone else had this issue with their Note and perhaps might have a fix?
4. I’m assuming the only way to get the “Yellow Pages” (YP Mobile) app off and out of my contact list would be via root and a custom ROM, eh?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

Having the same thoughts here. Have learned to deal with it, but would rather "fix" it.

Regarding screen saturation, I've read on some other threads that there may be an option in the ICS international version for this setting but I haven't found any definitive screen caps to confirm this. If anyone running ICS can, that would be spectacular.
I've scoured the app market to no avail. I humbly asked the very swell fellow who wrote "Screen Adjuster" to see if he might write a fix but I'm not sure how difficult this might be.
The bottom line is what many people perceive as "color pop" to me isn't at all. It's a simple over saturated display problem. I'm a photographer and one of the reasons I got this device was to be able to lose my Asus Transformer and use this as an on the go gallery display device, but I'd never show anyone my work on this gadget - it's simply so far off of what real colors look like.
I may have to send it back at the end of my 30 days. Damn shame as I am really coming to like some of the other pluses.
If I figure anything out, I'll post back as from reading other threads there are more than a few people who aren't thrilled with this.

Thank for the reply.
I'm on GB right now, and won't be switching to ICS for a while.
Hopefully something pops up.
Hey guys. Have been doing some LCD comparisons for my droid mini and thought hey why not investigate this phone as well.
My quick story:
1st g2's screen for water damaged and I got a replacement. The picture was perfect with nice color balance..not too cold or hot.
2nd g2's screen was way too warm in color not to mention the phone would get hot...I returned it.
3rd g2's screen was still warm but not as bad as the 2nd. The screen stopped responding to touch randomly. The phone Was replaced under warranty.
Which brings me to my current phone. This screen is different.
Nice color balance like my first one but I notice its a little over contrast/grainy where u can see the difference if you hold them side by side with Another G2.
Also noticed the screen flickers around 45% or so which my previous phones did not do.
Don't feel like going through exchange process again just for this.
Have you guys noticed a difference in the LCDS for this phone?
Is there anyway for you to know what kind you have without taking the phone apart?
Yeah there are two panels, LGD and JDI. There's a neat tool that requires root which shows you which panel you have. Aside from color differences, kernels have different configurations for the panels so if you flash a LGD kernel on a JDI phone you'll get white lines. Most kernels, however, automatically detect your panel and installs a patch.

Why do we have two panels? And which one is better?
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda premium
I don't know, my best bet would be that the demand for the G2 was greater than what LG originally thought it would be and had to ask JDI to make them panels to catch up with the demand. Or JDI could simply offer them a couple panels at a really attractive pricing, and LG chose to accept that.
As for which panel is the best - I don't know of any tests have been made to compare the displays in terms of color accuracy and gamma, brightness and so on. But generally, LGD panels make less of a mess when flashing

What is this tool and where can I find it?
You can find it in the G2 android development section. It's made by bender_007
Hello everyone,
I'm the Editor-in-Chief of the XDA Portal. I received the Pixel 3 XL in Just Black for review from Google. I also have the Pixel Stand and Pixel USB-C Earbuds.
I posted part 1 of my review here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-xl-camera-software-design-pixel-stand/
Have posted a ton of little tidbits of information here: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-google-pixel-3-xl-minor-features/
And my announcement article also has a ton of information: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-pixel-3-google-pixel-3-xl-specs-features-pricing-availability/
But if you have any other questions, I'm happy to answer them now that the review embargo has been lifted.

Sorry, I don't have the smaller Pixel 3 on hand, but the two devices are basically the same apart from the different screen sizes/notch.
Is the screen completely flat? For screen protectors. Can you also dock the phone horizontal and still use the features? I think it was careless of the designers, if you could not use the USB C headphones while it charges on the stand(vertical).

It's basically flat. It slightly curves at the edges, but nothing like the Samsung Galaxy series. You can dock the phone in the Pixel Stand horizontally, but the new UI only appears in portrait mode. I agree it's an oversight - all it takes to enable landscape mode in Always on Display is to change a single boolean value in the framework: https://android.googlesource.com/pl.../+/master/core/res/res/values/config.xml#1192
Is the stand worth it? How much time does it take to charge phone completely?

The Always on Display integration is really neat but I'm guessing someone will figure out how to trigger it for any Qi wireless charger soon, so I'm not sure if the Pixel Stand will be so unique in the future. It charges the device fully in about 2 hours and 40 minutes, but about 50% in 1 hour.
Is the video as washed out as it looks in the reviews I've see (supersaf and zone of tech)? Something perhaps to do with electronic image stabilization?
Just a few questions my friend.
How's the screen in bright sunlight? My P2XL needs help on that one.
How's the ringer/notification volume and vibration motor? I've missed several calls since I have to have the volume set to full and the vibration on my P2XL is kinda weak.
Do you have any "hollow sound" while tapping the screen like has been reported on the P2XL. I can vouch for this one on my P2XL.
Thank you for your willingness to share your findings
Does the Pixel 3 display has a pinkish tint?
Does the back scratch easily?
Does the stand have a nfc card that makes it so something else like trigger some software to make it act like a assistant mode?
I have a few questiona about its camera.
Does it have a full manual mode?
If it has, how many seconds of exposure does it have?
And, again, if it has a manual mode, can it save RAW photos?
How many camera modes does it have?
Does it have a light painting mode?
Does the Manual Camera app work with the wide aperture front camera?
If it does, can it save wide RAW photos?
What's the highest video resolution in Open Camera? (On my One M9 is 4096x2160.)
I hope you have time to answer all of this stuff.
Hello, I'm having Pixel 3 from USA and using it in India. Running latest stock OS. I'm not getting eSim option.
Please guide me for enabling the eSim option.
Hi guys. Purchased earlier. Seems a great handset for what would have been my first Android
coming from Apple. However, the colours of the screen compared to iPhone seem too much for me, pictures look completely different, way too much contrast & saturation regardless of settings, dimmer too. The only time a picture looks half natural is if you open one right up from gallery so it’s against the black background, why does the picture then go lighter and less saturated?!
Raise to wake barely ever works either. All else seemed fine but the above are offputting so far.
Any feedback or advice much appreciated!
Try going to Settings > Display > Colour & Eye Comfort ? Colour mode & Temperature. Mate 20 Pros are usually set to Vivid colours by default. Try changing it to Normal and see if that works for you. (It's how I have mine.)
Not hand a problem with raise to wake myself. Might be worth double-checking the settings under Smart assistance > Motion control > Pick up
Thanks Gondrah, have tried eye comfort and all other settings along with pick up but no joy unfortunately. What screen protector is working for you, if any?
I'm not using one. I had one of the tempered glass ones which apply with the glue you seal using a UV light but it peeled off when the phone got a bit damp and hot. Haven't bothered trying to find an alternative yet.
Just looked at my phone and thought "wow, that's over saturated" - had accidentally turned on Vivid while checking
I found Normal to be okay but it s still quite saturated. What screen have you got? An LG or BOE?
You’re a brave man, OCD will see me wrapping it in cling film if I can find anything decent soon!
Glad I’m not the only one to see the saturation, seems most Androids are a lot richer than iPhones though, yes think cold or normal best but find it odd how images look much better once opened fully in gallery. Have the BOE screen, not sure if that’s good or not.
I bought my phone in USA and had it shipped overseas. I finally got it and, compared to my OnePlus 7 Pro, the screen colors seem very dull. Is this normal? If I put "cinema" option it is even worse (very yellow). Is the screen supposed to be "natural colors" like the photos it takes? I do want photos natural colors, but would like the screen to be vivid.
Also, is there a way to uninstall the 4 GB of games it comes preinstalled with? What a terrible decision if you can't remove it (without root).
Edit. I am not 100% sure on this, but using the phone a few days seem to have made the screen colors way better. Nos the colors do look vivid in the standard mode.
EDIT 2 I pulled out the OnePlus 7 pro that initially had better more vivid colors to me, and now the Sony is way eat better. I don't know if it was the updates the phone had, or if j was comparing Sony cinema vs OnePlus vivid before. Loving the phone screen now.
You are right bro screen colors really really bad Sony must give a update about...
Colours look fantastic and accurate to me, most phones have quite an unrealistic vibrance to the screens. Not sure on how you'd go about increasing it without root.
You can change the white balance under display settings, that would fix the yellow tinge.
I also think the colour of the screen is fine. I'm using Creator Mode. Most OLEDs are too saturated for my liking.
At first I felt it lacked the vibrant pop that I was used to from other manufacturers.
But I set it to creator mode and started to get used to the accurate colours and really appreciate it now. Just stick with it, you will soon get used to it.
Also I got no idea how to get rid of the games. I just disabled them.
In past xperia devices also had "vivid mode" in screen settings.
But since sony is obsessed with feature and function removal they decided to remove this as well :/
Software wise xperias are complete misunderstanding.
I bet there is someone sitting, going through the code and wondering what else he can remove / cut off...
I think Sony must give "Vivid Mode" also...

You can uninstall all the games using ADB. If you don't know how to use it then you can read up on it over at XDA. But even when you do "uninstall" them they are NOT really uninstalled. They are only uninstalled for you, the primary user identified in ADB as user 0 (zero) and if you were to do a factory reset they would just show up again. The only way to truly uninstall them requires root. They do not take up any storage of consequence and disabling them accomplishes basically the same thing as ADB does.

Yeah, I found the adb shell commands to free up that space.
Also, the colors of the screen seem to have gotten way better after a few days. Does screen "warming" exist or might it be my eyes got used to non ultra vivid colors I had on my OnePlus?
Get a Color chart to check throughput from cam to display. Ambient shooting light color temp will effect results to some degree. Compare display image of chart photograph to the chart in the same light as it was shot. Both the image and the display image colors should look identical if the display is dialed in correctly.
Most displays are oversaturated as previously stated. Reds tend to blowout first. This looks vibrant and very unnatural... I hate it. Look at face flesh tones to help gauge color accuracy.
If face colors look natural on the browser, in photos, the setup is likely close to optimum.
Tattoos may photograph erratically due UV reactive pigments especially in sunlight... this is normal.
Still they should bring back vivid mode.
It is better to have the option rather than not having it. If someone likes washed out cinema colors = fine, but if someone prefers more vivid colors should also have such possibility to select it.
