The mechanical aperture on the S9+ is about the only inspired change. Everything else a small bump in tech.
Any chance someone will port the AR emoji feature over to the note 8?

It can't be done. It requires hardware specific to the S9/+ camera unfortunately.

That's a pain! I just signed up on a new contract with the note 8 not a big deal, bit of a gimmick but looks cool.

Note 8 is a great device, so I wouldn't worry about it. S9/+ was very MEH. The Note 9 will likely be a worthy upgrade though.

I can be done the iris / face scanner used for ar emoji are identical to the note 8 they just changed from 2mp iris to 3mp iris scanner that's all so yes it will most likely be ported

only thing the note 8 cant do is the 2.4 for low light, unless their a mod to camera like zeromod that will allow that but i doubt,if you have a note 8 root with roms ,thier no reason to buy a s9+
UNLESS, you do alot photo shoot and get alot of money
for casual user,its pointless

Hi all. I would like to know whether it is possible launch of multi-window from galaxy note 2 to our device?
Nothing is impossible, I'm not sure the code is in the leaked JB ROM but I'm betting that it's unlikely we will see this feature on the S2.
GTBH, I'm not that fussed as I don't think the screen is big enough.

It's working with the front camera right? If yes, then it's possible, I guess.
Sent from my Galaxy S Advance
Yes, it does work with the front Camera, but the front camera of the S Advance is of terrible quality...
Also, smart stay isn't just an app, I think it goes deeper than that..
I agree, it would work very bad because of bad camera resolution

So true, but I would be happy even if it works bad. Getting a GS3 feature to work on a mid-range phone is an accomplishment, I guess. And our front camera is not that bad, if you use it outside in a fine day you'll see it's good enough. But we don't have "fine days" inside our homes So I don't know.

In some website I have seen that galaxy note 3 neo is
getting updated with 4.4 kitkat in coming may 2014.
4.4 bans full use of external sdcard, so think twice b4 upgrading.
Kitkat update coming through soon, hopefully !!!
Hopefully, Note 3 Neo users will be updated to Kitkat as well. RIght now it has just hit the korean version.
Hope this helps.

I suggest Spigen Neo Hybrid, you can buy on Amazon, not slim but big quality and materials.
Or flip cover S View, available on eBay or Amazon.

Can someone share changes or may be a video to show what's new with Kitkat update for Note 3 Neo . Google doesn't have much info about this so was wondering if any one would take some time ? Curious to know if update breaks sd card support and has display profiles included ?
Also time line for kitkat update for N750 3G variant was also May but there's no sign of it ?

If based on the Kit Kat for Note 2, yes it broke SD card support but there was an easy fix if phone has been rooted.

There are security measures on the phone through knox to stop us from rooting this phone. Carrier specific I think to Verizon and AT&T looks like we might have to wait a while

Yes 5.02 had the exploit which was patched in the 5.1.1 update. And to add insult to injury if you flashed to 5.1.1 there's no flashing back (even using ODIN with stock builds) to 5.02. A lot of people permanently lost root this way.
I read that Verizon and AT&T will not boot anymore if rooted. It will show a black screen and message that the phone was rooted.

I have had 6 different Samsung devices and rooted all. Never had a single issue. I love rooting. So far I am surviving without it. I figure it might take a month or two til it's obtained. Canadian variants usually get root with T-Mobile.
