Hi,
Does this happened after a boot/reboot?
Did you tried other file manager app (es explorer,...)?
Did you "Clean" your Sony system using pre-installed apps?
Did you received an OTA (February one for example?)
We need to know more to support you.
Anyway... Wish you it is not lost

Yes. I used all file managers. They all show 2.8 gigabytes of occupied space, but they are hidden.
I did not clean.
Yes, I received the latest update.

I wanted to ask how people manage their storage on their A101 efficiently. I have noticed that my system storage fills up as I install new apps and I have to manually move each to internal storage to keep the A101 running smoothly. Some apps cant be moved it seems.
Is there someway of getting apps to automatically install to internal storage to make life a little easier?
If you have root (Archangel is fine) you can use Move2SD Enabler. It is available on the market. Read instructions from the link below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=720739
as you can't move apps with widgets or system apps, as they won't work properly. It has saved me lots of space on my A70.

Thanks Darren. I haven't gone down the Root path yet. Is there an app you can use without root that will do the job?
Try App 2 SD from the market
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.a0soft.gphone.app2sd&feature=search_result
You can only move apps which android allows to be moved with this, but it will tell you if you can move an app when you install new ones.

If you want to avail this feature to move apps data to sd card you need to root the phone(Use kingo app for rooting) and install gl2sd app from playstore.
This app will copy the huge data of bigger games and few apps to sd card. That way you will be able to free up lots of space. You can then install many heavy data games on your phone and enjoy.
But yes you have to root the phone first. If you're afraid of warranty, then don't worry you can make the status back to official and get the warranty back. There a tool called triangle away to do that. So, if you want to have this feature then root. Go ahead and try if needed and enjoy. Cheers ! ! !:good:
Let me know if any issues.

Out of Space : Unable to install some apps
Hi everyone!
Pardon me, I'm just new here, I signed up bcoz I'm losing hope now.
I'm having issue installing "some" apps on my phone. (some are installing)
Search and tried TS steps found online to no success.
TS steps done:
Restarted the phone
Clear Cache on the recovery mode
Clear cache on each application through setting>application manager
Clear cache using android assistant
Tried the MMI code *#9900# and deleted dumpstate/logcat
Deleted the "mysterious large file" .thumbdata
Checked and deleted some odex files
Checked and deleted files under android/data
Installed Lucky patcher (no troubleshooting option)
Unable to install logcat
Unable to search appslib or app-lib
Phone information:
Galaxy grand quattro
Not rooted, stock ROM
phone memory : 1.74GB/ 5GB
SD card 1.5GB/ 32GB
Running process (under applct'n manager): 662MB used, 219MB free
RAM status : 568MB/845MB
I can just reset my phone to factory default but that's just avoiding the problem, I would like to resolve the root cause of the problem. (without rooting the phone)
I believe that we can resolved this issue.
Thank you in advance.

First of all make your phone rooted (then only you can delete modify files) use odin to flah CWM recovery and install superSU with CWM, some apk need root access ( like lucky patcher, root explorer) then use root explorer and go to sdcard/andriod /data and delete only the files which are not working and then try to install them it will work.
Here is the link to rooting :

My mate has a I9100. All firmware is latest Nordic stock, it has never been rootet, never flashed with any firmware or anything.
The available internal memory of the device gets slowly filled up without reason. We don't know why, but we expect it to have something to do with charging. Every night he charges the device and every morning there's a little less internal memory available.
The other night my friend set it to charge, and when he disabled the charger, only 75 MB of internal memory remained. He has no where near that amount of apps installed to only leave such a small amount of available memory.
This has happened about four times before, and every time a factory reset is needed.
Have any of you heard about this bug before, and do any of you know how to remedy this issue?
I'm thinking about doing a full factory reset and install latest Nordic stock ROM via Odin but I'm open for suggestions.

Hvilsted

I will do that. You think that file could take up several hundred megabytes?

i dont think its related to charging he must be having an app which may be increasing storage by saving logs ,some temperory file high amounts of cache memory sort of etc,or loads of apps installed may increase app data + cache to a huge extent for example whatsapp is only about 13 MB but after using it for some months it is now 50MB!...BY THE WAY how much memory is eateN?factory reset and reflashing may help ...does his phone have virus?
I have the same problem!
I've already made factory reset, and also deleted some useless files in the "log" (about 500 files of 50kb each)... but the problem remains. I checked in my computer and in the internal memory of my phone there's 0kb available!! How and why is this happening? There's always a message that says "Full internal memory".
I've searched in this forum if there's something similar to a factory reset for root users that let the internal memory as the default usage... I mean, there are a lot of internal folders of apps that were already deleted last year and I don't know why are they still in the internal memory...
I hope someone have some answers and I already thanks everyone for reading this!
Memory filling up on S ll
Hi,
I am not on this forum often but I found a way to regain memory and get rid of the 'Storage space running out' if this helps.
Right click on the storage space item on the taskbar and select 'App info' then when the android media app details open -force close (I ignore warning about knock on effects.
Even if you didn't get the 'storage space running out' but your internal storage is showing as just a few Mb's - open FX file explorer and make sure that - 'show hidden files' is shown.
Open Main storage and open each folder in turn. Scroll down and look for 'Nomedia' file and delete from any folder that contains it.
Do the same with Media card and sometimes in System folder as well ( although most are 'access denied' on non rooted phone)
I read that the Nomedia file is incompatible with some of the later rom updates. Restart your phone and check your internal storage - hopefully you will see that the memory is restored. But this works for me. Repeat this as necessary.
Best regards and I hope this helps.
Hello there.
My OnePlus 5T has got an issue today that is driving me crazy. Its storage is acting up in stupid ways.
I can browse its storage through the stock file manager and SD Maid without too many issues. However, everything else cannot access it, so it becomes impossible to save/download anything, upload anything, or even read anything (like these gallery pickers on social apps). Even the Play Store cannot update an app. I can't take screenshots either.
That OnePlus 5T is two years old and a half. I've tried removing a lot of files through SD Maid and nothing helps solving that issue. Rebooting my phone doesn't change anything either. Permissions are all good as well.
I haven't rooted my phone, however the bootloader is open.
Thanks for checking in.
It might be your File Explorer/Manager not showing the file i have that issue with Files by Google it doesn't show .img files on my sdcard and internal memory

As I pointed out in the first post, absolutely nothing shows up in Files by Google, stock Gallery app, or even Discord or Telegram. The Play Store cannot download anything, same for Google Chrome and any other apps. Somehow only the stock file explorer and SD Maid can manipulate storage without issues.
At random reboots I face the same issues too. Not sure why.

Did you manage to fix it? I've cleared the cache from the recovery menu and the problem persists, even after several reboots.
have you tried checking this app "Storage Permission" if they are allowed?

This was the first thing I checked and everything was okay. Double checked just in case and storage permissions are still granted.

Unfortunately no. I am using a Moto Z play rom and sadly rom development for my device is meager due to the unpopularity of the device. The storage permissions have been granted by me too but yet some apps completely hang and restart when I try to download in them. Browsers and all are working fine. Even download manager. It is stuffs like Edxposed which freezes when I click on download on a particular module. Same thing happens to certain other apps like image downloading apps. Storage permissions are intact. I'm on Lineage OS 16.
Another concerning issue is sometime both the inbuilt gallery app and Quickpic completely fail to recognize any images or videos. I did a clean install of the ROM too.
I can't take screenshots too (at times). I can download and upload anything with the help of solid explorer or es file manager. Camera app sometimes cannot save an image to its own storage even though permissions are intact.
Trying to download or update anything makes the Play store crash. Sometimes it updates, mostly it crashes. Things get way annoying when I'm urgently trying to download an app and play store just rage quits on me.
