Good news. Maybe another ROM on the horizon
Awesome!
Hello,
What does that mean for our G6 ?
Please where how you did it
But the G6 doesn't support Treble.. Certainly didn't come with it out of the box.
Was it a unit that had been updated to 8.0?
Also, where is the navbar?

No, I just recompiled lineage os with a few modifications and treble support was added with those, also in gsi there is no nav bar by default you need a overlay on Android 8.1 for it
It's still on Android 7.0 blobs and these are still expected to be on system im working on getting them symlinked at boot but the script seems to have some iusses
Can you show us how to do it? Or upload a treble build maybe.
I'm thinking about getting a G6. Will surely get one if It gets treble.
Yea I'm also very interested to know if there has been any developments on this? Way to leave us all drooling...! ?????
i check the treble compatibility with oreo v20 europe and it is not supported
no treble, no seamless sytem update (only one partition)

i understand this. i would suggest only that original treble support was not inserted in the original release.
Could you please update some sources of this project?
I'm interested in working with the port of Project Treble (or at least to try something)...
Thank you.
:highfive:
Maybe with this we can finnaly get the updates that we need.
Any development news?
Has there been any additional developments on bringing treble to the g6?
Nope, I discontinued it, no need for Treble, no benifits

Chances are Verizon won't allow the bootloader to be unlocked as usual. Neither will AT&T. It's wishful thinking at this point.

First of all, yes, we can now run 64bits ROM on our phone.
But actually we have to run app_process (system server) as 32bits, mainly cause of sensors non working actually with a 64bits system server.
More to come next, vendor tree is still missing many 64bits blobs, and some of our proprietary services still run in 32bits mode too.
What's needed:
Device Tree : https://github.com/BoulzorROM/android_device_motorola_potter/tree/bzr-64bich
Kernel Tree : https://github.com/BoulzorROM/android_kernel_motorola_msm8953/tree/bzr-64bich
Vendor Tree : https://github.com/boulzordev/android_vendor_motorola_potter/tree/bzr-64bich
Check commits history of those repos to grab needed changes.
A 64bits TWRP is available here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RQL-RaZh5BeBq8ARg8EBrvma4RtnhGtk/view?usp=sharing (mandatory to flash 64bits ROM)
A 64bits MultiROM TWRP is available here : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6-Tz_7kDyxsNGp2V2ZBRV9TV1U (thx to @GtrCraft)
BoulzorROM is available here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AQxlUSxrzH1Sq6L5c_ItZI_qtihfUUtM/view?usp=sharing
Validus is available here : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-aNOD0ef3a1hqnUEeDaNs0GSgKMFBVgy (thx to @GtrCraft)
Some ROMs are almost ready to be shared here soon, stay tuned !

You definitely need to plan some alone time with your phone. For everything that it does for you do not neglect it. Don't you think your phone wants a 64-bit ROM just like all the other flagships.. so yes definitely set aside some time unlock your bootloader flash TWRP and get this ROM. Don't forget we are on arm64 gapps

Hi, i read this notice

I'm furious, i bought Honor View 10 for modding, because Honor had to give the phone to many developers for expand the modding on their devices. Then first Huawei stop the possibility to unlock bootloader and now stop the possibility to have root also?
It's incredible, Huawei/Honor should repay who bought the device before their decision to stop the modding scene.
Honor clearly didnt work closely with Huawei when it comes to that modding/rooting related stuff
after Honor dev program they locked bl's for good, and now trying to prevent ROOT by adding system app to check for Root then force remove it or stop it
hopefully we can find a work around it :\

But this is not fair, many of us bought a huawei device for modding, and now we are stucked with no options to reclaim anyting, Honor View 10 in my case has cost me around of 500€, took time for me to get this money (part time job, studing, and living alone), it's hard for me to believe that the reply of Huawei is deal with it, good luck next time loser.
This tweet was pertaining to a Chinese variant. @MishaalRahman with XDA is investigating, as there is no official word if this sort of update is coming to other regions or even the US. This may have been done by mistake as well.
There have been other Chinese variants that have received a "patch1" type update, but has been confirmed those other updates are bug fixes and are not rooted related.
I'm sure XDA will make a write up to clarify if/when there is more info

Your complaints will do absolutely nothing on XDA ... contact your local Huawei dealership or post pubically on their social media pages like Facebook or Twitter. Only if it's made public (by enough people) will there be even the slightest chance of them changing their @&%$§!* new policies.

The original person who reported on this new "patch1" update to the ramdisk is still testing to see whether it's an intentional feature to block root, or if Magisk no longer working is just a side effect to ramdisk changes. We're waiting to see the results of their testing.
