Well, that sucks. Appreciate the info. Might as well go back to my note 4.

(Q) rooted sprint phone on Verizon?

Hello, I'm trying to do some homework for a friend. Before I get him to root his phone, could his rooted note 3 be used on Verizon or any other carrier?
Thank you.

Verizon no. Gsm carrier maybe but not at full speeds. Buying a phone and wanting to get it working in another carrier isn't the wisest thing to do to save money. Phones are NOT 100% interchangeable between carriers. Your friend might have bought an expensive paperweight or 2g phone.

You have to get it internationally unlocked through sprint before you can attempt to do anything.
yes, you can take your sprint note 3 and run it on verizon. I did with pageplus and I have flashed a friends to his personl verizon account.

Can you explain your procedure for doing so? Do you need the MSL? Does Sprint need to unlock it for International Use prior to flashing over?
A link to a tutorial or even some directions would help him more than just stating that it's possible.

The most reliable service. Just make sure you have enough counts to unlock.
In addition to the above poster's URL, there's also http://www.cellunlocker.net/sony-ericsson-unlock.php
I provided the AT&T link first because it's free to unlock. If AT&T gives you a hard time, I'd go with cellunlocker.

Know what? If it's reliable? Trust me I've done lots of them with these guys. Very reliable, very fast. Read reviews of them.
I'm not affiliated in any way. I'm just a happy customer. You can try any other.

Upgraded to an M8, how should I dispose of my MDK s4?

Basically what the title says, I'm not sure what I should do with my MDK s4... I am aware that it's against the rules to sell things on xda, is there somewhere that isn't against the rules?
Yes, their partner site swappa.com
thanks
That's cool, if you get it set up on swappa, please pm me the link. Been wanting to get an mdk s4 and might sell the current s4 I have to buy one.
I'll probably do that tonight
Have you posted it? I'm interested in it as well.
I'm sorry I haven't yet... I'll get it done this weekend
Why are you switching to be M8. Can you install a custom recovery on it?

No Custom Roms?

Why after so many months, there are still no custom roms being made for this phone? Is it because of the second screen or because no one cares enough to do one?
Because of the locked bootloader
Only tmobile variant is unlockable
Very disappointing....

Can't you use the TMO variant with some random small-dollar plan for just a couple months, pay off the phone, then take it to Verizon unlocked?

AFAIK, Verizon checks MEID from their inventory table and won't allow activation if it is not in their inventory table.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that. It's yet another phone that doesn't have all the radios in it needed for CDMA or GSM. That's too bad.

Verizon would never activate it on their network anyways, so it doesn't matter. They whitelist IMEIs.

It seems like there is a shortage of devs that purchased this phone.....disappointing to say the least.

I figured being similar to the g4 we wouldn't have issues getting a rom from a dev. I read a post from someone saying they were able to get a g4 rom to flash on the v10.

My thoughts exactly
The lack of development for this phone is the main reason I wish I didn't get this phone.
It's interesting that there isn't much development on this phone considering its one that seems to appeal to power users with Microsd support, battery removal and the secondary screen.
Well, I would think someone would have to figure out root first since the tmobile version is the only one with root so far.
People seem to be trying but it's slow going!

It's a courtesy to those who know you, wondering where you went, and taking the time to thank someone who's been a lot of help.
