You probably have a version on your phone that you didn't download from the Market. To solve that you need to uninstall that version that you have on your phone and the install the one from the Market.

there was a problem parsing the package

Hello everybody,
I'm sorry of maybe I'm not on the right section, but I need some help regarding an error when I try to install an apk.
First of all, the device is an android system fot my car that run on android 5.1
I want to install the app "Mercedes me adapter" but on the play store it show that is not compatible (even if on the description of the app is compatible starting from android 4.2).
So I tried to download the apk and install it, but I receive immediately the error "there was a problem parsing the package".
Is there any way to force the installation of this app?
Thanks

How to install blankstore?

Hi,
I am trying to get blankstore installed on my Magisk-rooted Android 10 Pixel 3 XL.
When I try to install the GmsCore, GsfProxy, FakeStore, or BlankStore APKs (from here: https://github.com/microg/android_packages__apps_GmsCore/wiki/Downloads)...
When I try to install through the Chrome downloads tab, I get an error that says "App not installed".
When I try to install through SAI, SAI tells me that the newest version is already installed on my phone in SPITE of the fact that I have never even tried to install them before BESIDES from the unsuccessful attempts at installing them through Chome downloads tab. AND, there are no icons in my app drawer for any of these apps.
What am I doing wrong, and will ALL of these apk installs produce an app icon in my app drawer?

Need app for new job, device not compatible

Hello.
I tried to install an app which I need to authenticate from home office at a new job. App store says "device not compatible" probably because it's an older Android (5.1). The app is called "Duo Mobile App" . Is there a way to install that app anyways or update to newer Android version. Is an unknown Chinese device (doogee x3)..

Android developers can restrict their apps to certain devices, countries, and minimum versions of Android.
Google Play Store, before downloading an app, looks inside Android's system file build.prop to see whether device matches the criteria set by app developer.
If your Android isn't already rooted, you can try to download the app in question from another app store, for example APKPURE which doesn't do the check. Be aware that NOT installing apps via Google Play Store is always risky. Duo Mobile is available on APKPURE.
If your Android is rooted then you edit its build.prop accordingly, means change the entry that defines the model of your device.
Downloaded it from as apkpure. It says "there was a problem while parsing the package"

Installation gives the specified error because
package is compiled against on higher API level: The app in question is compiled for Android 6+.
That fact is clearly mentioned on APKPURE.
You've to download one of app's versions that date from 2018: These are Android 5 conformant!
