Not sure, but are there any custom ROMs which have OTA updates, so I don't have to constantly reflash every time there is an update (or at least where if I flash a ZIP, I don't lose all my data, but preferably automatized)?
Mainly looking to get a daily driver for my kate.

Hi,
I have had the system update popup for the past week, on my sprint evo 3d.
is this update avail somewhere here to download that is safe for my rooted phone?
also is there a rooted stock ROM that has this already? Sorry for the dumb questions, but there are so many different custom roms, it is hard to decide which is best for me. the only reason for root is to use the tether
thanks
My friend was having the same issue, I think it was because he manually rooted the phone without flashing a new ROM. Usually if you flash a custom ROM (even a stock replacement) then the system will automatically refuse OTA updates.
I really like Olympus Trinity Prime roms, they are very fast, it comes with the built in hotspot app unlocked
Currently I'm bumped and rooted on a 23C rom with TWRP flashed. I'm considering trying out CM12.1 since I'm fed up with the bugs that verizon caused on the device.
What should I do in order to make my migration back to where I am as smooth as possible in the event that I don't like CM12.1?
Will I be able to flash back to a nandroid of my current ROM or will I have to flash back to stock or something using LG Flash?
For that matter, do I need to do anything special to flash CM12.1, or can I just flash the zip from TWRP?

I would just make a backup of your current ROM/setup using TWRP, then wipe/flash CM12.1. You can restore your TWRP backup if you decide you don't like CM. You should be able to just flash CM12.1/Gapps/Root and be just fine.
^^What he said.
Make sure you are using the most recent bumped version of TWRP (currently 2.8.6.1).
Don't forget the Gapps. I recommend the most recent version of Slim's at this point; they include the calendar sync adapter and they were the first to resolve a bug that was mucking up the Gallery. They also have a Multi-DPI add-on if you like to adjust that like many of us do.
I think that you'll really like 12.1-based ROMs. The only thing that I am really missing from stock at this point is the badass camera, but you have plenty of other options as far as that goes.
Thanks guys. And yes, that camera is pretty sweet. I just found out about the 60 fps / slow-mo feature today. Not that I use the camera often...
Hello. I used to have cm13+radon kernel. For some time after, I flashed a newer version of cm13, then when speaking on the phone, I experience call drops. I call someone, it accepts the call, but after some seconds (sometimes it's 2 secs and sometimes it's 30 secs) the call drops. But
Then I flashed an older version of cm13 + flashed radon again. But same thing! Then I flashed the rom again (no custom kernel this time) and no problem with calls. Fast forward, yesterday I flashed RR 5.8.0 + agni kernel+cam libs. Same thing happened again. I tried some cm14 firmware, but nothing changed. (actually I bricked the phone.)
Anyway now I am on RR 5.7.4 (nougat roms are buggy without kernels) and no custom kernel. What might be the problem? I can't flash custom kernels.
First thing i would suggest is installing the complete stock MIUI ROM through fastboot, and running that a few days to see if you still get the same issues.
If you don't, then you know it is something that is being done when you install the CM roms. Could be a firmware that you need to flash, could be something with CM or the rom's themselves, or the custom kernels.
You have to do process of elimination here.

Without flashing kernel, there wont be a problem i guess because, right now I dont have the issue. (rr 5.7.4 no custom kernel). It shouldnt be kernel end, because i havent heard anyone beside me experiences this.
So I really messed up I think.
My friend - who is on vacation had borrowed my phone earlier this year, and for some reason didn't reset it properly.
Now I need it again, but I couldn't start it up, due to the phone being locked to his Gmail account.
So I went into TWRP and reset the phone, did a wipe on Dalvik/Art Cache, System, Data and Cache. Then I realized I just deleted the ROM that was previously on it, so I downloaded another ROM for the phone. But it wouldn't finish booting after starting to load the system, so I downloaded another one. This one still won't boot up after coming to the system bootup after the LG V30 Thinq logo has shown. I have tried Havoc and Liquid ROM with and without gapps.
My phone is the Korean version.
Do I need to flash some kind of Magisk or SuperSU with the ROM, or can anyone help me so I can get my phone working again?

What was the previous ROM? If it was LOS-16 based, you can't replace with LOS-17 based ROM without first flashing stock Pie firmware. LOS-17 ROMS need stock Pie blobs (drivers), while the older LOS-16 ROMs need stock Oreo blobs (drivers).
That's the most common reason for what you describe and fits the timeline of you not having the phone in your hands for several months.
Yes, you do need to flash Magisk with the custom ROM and usually GAPPs as well. (Although a few ROMs come with their own GAPPS.)
Here's current LOS-16 ROM if you want to try that:

That dev makes new builds almost every day -- both for universal "H930" (all variants except T-mobile H932) and also builds specifically for T-mobile H932. That download link is for 07/16 daily build for "H930".
But there is still the matter of the account: FRP doesn't go away just by wiping in TWRP or flashing a different ROM, as far as I know.
The best solution would have been too simply log in with the previous account, then delete the account in the OS. That would release the FRP.
If you manage to boot any ROM, I would do that first thing. If your friend is far away, then give him a call. He could temporarily change his Google password to something simple, give it to you, then change it back once you have removed his account from the phone.
Edit: maybe flashing with LGUP Refurbish mode clears FRP. Do you know that, @ChazzMatt.

Is there an easy way to use that manifest? Normally it's just a ZIP file you need to flash. What it says in that guide looks like rubbish to me
Sorry for being a complete noob

Normally just go here and click on the heading of the build you want. At least on PC it starts a download. If it's not triggering a download make sure your pop up blockers are disabled. Unless something has changed there recently. @ShapeShifter499?

Do NOT choose any T-Mobile H932 builds, since you don't have that model.
Hi everyone. this is my very first post. I'm an Owner of a Redmi 6a (Cactus) Running Lineage OS 17.1 Unofficial (20200727) and I'm having some issues with the from so. first, I would like to know which Custom ROM Its better for this model now in 2022. more stable and updated. and also. if I can change the custom ROM to another without problems, just wiping some things ( I have TWRP and Bootloader unlocked already), or I have to get back to MIUI again.
I'm seeking something with the highest android version available for this model without problems like slow charging. camera stops or issues with daily usage, I would like to get my phone a little more powerful again.
Any suggestions, and comments, are well received by me.
Thanks to everybody
welcome to the dark side
so at the beginning i just tested some of the available costom roms, each for a few days (like go shopping) to get to know the functions and to see if they are stable (stable enough - because you can't find all bugs in short time). i am now using LineageOs but this is a personal preference. maybe i should go "shopping" again to see how the other costom roms have evolved over the past two years. as long as i did this testing i flashed all the roms "dirty", this means as you said, just wiping/formatting in twrp and flash new rom but as soon as i left testing and decided to use a rom for a longer period of time i did a "clean" flash. this means flash stock rom again (be careful to don't lock your bootloader again, its preselected in miflash unlock tool), then boot system, enable adb debugging, flash twrp, flash costom rom. i would say from experience that if you do a dirty or even clean flash, lets say you do it 10 times in a row, you will not always get the same result. maybe sometimes in LineageOs (at some devices) the radio is missing, sometimes it's not. sometimes you have a bug with a camera, sometimes you don't. flashing clean should reduce the error rate. this in the first place and the different region versions make it hard to help someone who has a device specific - rom specific - one in a hundred times bug - they need some help with.
