Hi there guys i have seen total 0 development for this phone here in xda, as a proud user of the Mega 5.8 i must kick start the development.
Well recently i have got my hands on the device and i am very pleased with how wonderfully it performs, anyway so here it goes.
I have started working on the CM10.1 device tree for GT-i9152. Well thanks to pawitp for his GT-19082 tree from which i have forked most of the blobs and started working on.
First target is to compile a bootable version of CM10.2 with Grand dependencies on which i and herna will work on to make a complete tree for GT=i9152.
So here is the initial commit. feel free to push any commits as you want.
https://github.com/RittikBhowmik/android_samsung_GT-i9152_crater
lets kick start the development. For now i will be using stock kernel sources with few changes to make it bootable,as we all know the first "wip" or "dev" is never stable, we will learn as it all gets started
Will be updating the kernel sources soon.
Credits/Working with me

will need few testers to test out the first builds, feel free to PM.
Updated Most of the blobs. Dedicated tree for Crater
I could help you a bit guys
I just need stock boot.img, kernel source and build.prop
Im 9152 user and feel so thirsty cause no mod for this device running well except root only. Come on man, keep up the work
Garak kernel source is on samsung open source and build.prop will provide you. My device tree now needs the kernel source and the vendor tabs. After that am good to go.

and please tell..will cyanogenmod make audio jack output "normal"?
please read it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46929535
^^its just samsung stock music app and the drivers. The chipset is capable to do much more. The companny does this to ensure that the speakers or the headphones dont mess up fast, while producing higher volume.

Trying miuiv5 and silesh building cm11. PM me for more info. Testers needed.
Good night Rittik,
What is needed to test the rom? For a long time I was a Motorola Atrix User and have always enjoyed using the custom roms of Cyanogemmod, and currently miss Cyanogemmod for our Mega 5.8.
At the moment I'm a Mega 5.8 and did the unlock bootload, and installed the Cokelat the Jusho rom for testing, and it has worked well, do not know what he did developing this version, but I would use a rom patterns of Cyanogemmod.
Rittik, thank you for the initiative to develop a custom rom, I've been researching and found nothing enquando for our Mega.
Rittik not know at what stage of development your rom this, but if you need to test it, I'll be available.
Tks.
Ricardo.

DayDream + Nexus5 Experience ROM
I am releasing this on behalf of @kykint . There is a language barrier he had trouble trying to release this here. I have not personally tried this ROM as I am in the middle of other things:
Everything seems to work fine except that it takes a long long long time to boot for the first time, since ART is set by default.
Super smooth with 1.4ghz OC & SaberMod Toolchain.. -kykint

Edit(kykint): These are my personal builds for YP-G(B)70 which include JustArchi Optimizations V3 and my custom SaberMod Toolchains. I'm planning on building the N5 Experience ROM as often as possible, but the DayDream ROM which I uploaded is the only build I can share since the ROM has been switched to close-sourced project:crying:
Special thanks to @Meticulus, who provided me with base device & kernel source codes and helped me share my builds with xda users

Where are you seeing that? The title states YP-G70.
Those screenshots look really good. I might try this out as I temporarily have my dad's g70.
Edit: I just flashed it. It has graphical issues on the setup screen when going back and forth between the screens. That's probably the worst thing so far. Just skip through all the steps I guess.
Another bug is on the theme settings. Tap on one of the options (like boot animation). The notification bar will be white until you pull down and release the notification shade. Anyway, I'm not disappointed.
Gapps with Nexus5 Experience ROM
I flashed the Nexus5 Experience ROM, and as stated, it did take awhile to initially boot, and it booted successfully
I tried installing the latest mini-modular GApps, and got insufficient space in system partition. It needs 240848KB, and 222868KB is available. I'll try micro GApps and report back.
Someone plz reply asap about this: I tried to flash this ROM but it said can't flash and in parentheses it said bad. Can someone help me with this.

I too flashed the Nexus5 ROM, And flashed the minimal GApps with no problems. The first boot DID take around 15-20 minutes so yes, you have to be patient... So far, no issues, SDCard swap confirmed, and I'm playing Simpsons Tapped Out with no lag...
Great job!!!

UPDATE: I sucessfully installed micro GApps and reinstalled all of my apps via Titanium Backup. The "Android is upgrading...Optimizing app xxx of yyy" (yyy = 41 in my case) message is slowly moving along, but taking forever !! Maybe it's so slow because it's very tight on system partition space ??
Is there any logical explanation why usagi111 had enough system partition space to install minimal GApps, but I did not? I wiped everything short of my external SD card.
Just tried daydream ROM and it is stable as heck. I love the theme. Now theirs one ROM left to try and it is nexus5 experience

I did flash it thru cwm and did ask it root before restarting the phone, no superuser and when I install it from the play store, the binaries cant update, tried flashing several update.zip's and SuperSU.zips and still nothing...It's no big deal but sooner or later i'm going to need root access for something...
I have built android-x86 from source and modified the kernel to work with the iBall Slide i701 (not fully). I have never done my own code based development before and have no idea how to put the modified kernel source on to github. Can anyone explain how I can do that?
I'm on ubuntu and have a github account.
Thanks.
P.S If i can upload the code where would it be best to post the build?

I personally use Paranoid Android now... But there are several great ROMs. AOSParadox has several CAF optimisations, Sultans CM 13 has them as well on the kernel and device tree side of thongs plus a superb camera HAL, CandySiX has amazing features, and Tipsy has an awesome maintainer. I switch ROMs all too often really.
You need to try them all yourself though. That's gkir best bet. Anyway, here's why I use PA:
1. Its very close to AOSP
2. It is now CAF optimised
3. Custom CAF based kernel
4. Floating windows are awesome
5. The HAL seems to be better than what's on Oxygen
6. Great community
7. Incredibly fast boot speeds even with Closed
8. OTAs
9. Customizable gestures
10. Simply the nostalgia affect. I used to to use it all the time
Those are just my 2c. Try what works best for you; not others.
