So, I've decided to make my own ROM using my vision abou what an android ROM should be.
But first, before I get to that I need to study and work hard. This is why I'm here, I want some tutorials what would help me through my journey if you're nice enough to guide me
Thanks!

I think you should sharpen up on some "Recipes" and head over to Androids "Chef Central"
https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android
Here you'll find guides and tools to assist you in your quest. Goodluck!

Why don't you send faux123 a pm? He might help you out. Check in the dev forum for his kernel thread, it's always around the top. Don't ask in that thread though!!
Thanks for your reply, that's what I did!
Follow up?

I don't want to take up too much of your time since you'll be busy with your project (hopefully), but would you mind posting any useful links or resources if they were helpful for you in getting started?
I've been on a mission to learn more about Android, and our phones, and eventually I'd like to get around to something like this. If you successfully get it done, it'll be nice to have a starting point archived somewhere here in the forums for the rest of us n00bs.
Here is a guide on making changes to a pre-existing boot.img to get you started:
HOWTO: Unpack, Edit, and Re-Pack Boot Images
Thanks for the link! And sure, if I can have some help and if my project is accepted, I'll write a tutorial on how to create kernel for noobs, and even more if I decide to go further

There are plenty of how-tos. If you have any specific questions just ask those.
Check my sig for a simple guide
Any other guides that explain things? More in detail?

This is a good place to start. You already found xda just spending hours on this website can give you a large amount of information that you need.
There is more to being a developer ...
Than just knowing how to code.
One of the things that worry me the most about the android community is that it doesn't follow the usual guidelines you see in the rest of the Free Software community. As someone that has been developing Free Software for eons, I can tell you that the method used in XDA doesn't work. We have a lot of divas working on their own, with a closed mindset.
Before you start developing, learn to work in a team. Find a team of developers, and start helping them. Start as a beta tester, then learn as you go, and start making small contributions. You will eventually learn all you need, and it'll be much better than just trying to make "your own rom".
Theres lots of Android development and internals videos on YouTube
which is a good way to start to get familar with it
Thankyou fi ur advice

i have some doubts and some things which i wanna know before i start so i wanted someone to help me
Just specifically ask then. Your question in the first post is too general, we wont know what u need by "help me creating a rom"
Start by modding an existing rom to your liking, it's a long way and you'll learn enough to start scratching at creating your own.
There's tons of tutorials and guides here. First things first, get root, get a custom recovery (cwm recovery by far the most used) and get familiar with android SDK, apk tool and the adb command line.
Good luck.
Dont start if you dont know what to do

I tried to port the candy Rom from the HTC one mini using my stock Rom as a base
Hi there everyone
I'm actually willing to create a custom rom which is based on GT-I9500 lollipop and ported SM-N910C lollipop.
I searched and tried to learn my self but didn't succeed, then I decided to try to get some help from you here, hopefully I get the required help to create my custom rom and also be able to understand any issue coming over and solve it.
I found guides to port kitkat rom and cyanogenmod based rom which are unfortunately don't match my request.
It would be much appreciated if anyone would spend some of his time to teach me, and I have the full desire to learn :good:
Thanks in advance, and thank you XDA for this great site
Reserved for in case ..
Anyone..!
Pls any help??
