Good question. Not even most NY AT&T retailers have it in stores. I've been all around southern NY looking. No dice. I'm starting to think it doesn't exist and the internet has fooled me haha
I'll sale got my 5 day old v30. I'll be swapping back to my g6 most likely. Good I the 3 cases I got for it already too

The V30 is what the G6 SHOULD have been. Better CPU, and ALL the specs: more storage, Quad DAC, Qi wireless charging -- which LG only put in a few G6 and there was no model that had it all. They did make a G6+, but only the South Korea G6+ had all the specs, but it still had the Snapdragon 821.
With the Snapdragon 835 you have must faster CPU and gigabit modem speeds.

#1. the g6 for me feels better in hand, I've got average sized hands and for a 5'8 guy. it's not that the phones huge or my hands are donald trump small.
but I really like the security and the solidity of the build of the g6. the 100% flat screen and the thicker sides. I'm very outdoorsy person and I really don't want to risk dropping or breaking my phone when reaching for it to take photos. I love the camera, the speed, the PLED screen. the v30 is amazing basically everything about it beats the g6. The camera software, the bluetooth music quality. IDC about the Q-dac truly. I use 64gb Sd card anyhow so the v30 being 64gb internal over the 32gb of the g6 is not a big deal.
But think about it would I rather have a "better" phone as a daily driver that I'm constantly worrying about dropping or breaking or a SOLID 100% great phone that I have no worries over and also the
v30 is seemingly a SOB to get a nice GLASS screen protector for. I've ordered 5 from amazon and shall see which ones work with cases without being too small to fit the full screen. I hate the ones with gaps on the side. There's no issues at all with the v30 100% great phone 2017 flagship. the g6 is a great phone but a year late truly .but I'm okay with that. I'd rather not have a great phone that I possibly break vs a really good phone that i've got no issues with.

I came from the G4, which refused to turn on after a software update, and all of my attempts to fix it failed. Getting this phone was cheaper (with a contract) than getting my G4 repaired. I also had to use my S3 for some time before I decided to purchase my G6.
I came from P10. In my opinion G6 is better.

Basically it more likely be a smaller version of the V30, unless they go for even slimmer bezel's this time around.

I traded mine 2 weeks ago , from Huawei p10 plus to my actual lg g6 ... Couldnt be happier , better battery life , good photos ... Great phone

Sure, you can always go faster processor, more RAM yadda yadda...
But let's be true here: the G6 is already a beast and you can hardly get it to stutter with normal usage (even with an realtively "old" processor).
So "upgrading" from G6 to a possible G7 seems odd.

For me if the G7 comes with better of all inclluding the Cine Log feature from V30 and a way better front Camera as well as improved or better Back camera and if, only if it comes to Videotron here in Quebec/Montreal as this time, Videotron Marketing guys were stupid enough to not get the LG V30 but instead they got Exlusive Pixel 2 & 2XL and they're not selling at all.. yeees i'd buy the G7 and also if the form factor of the overall phone is a bit wider in the feel of the hands as the G6 seems a bit thinner in terms of grip I find. And would be nice if Videotron could get LG phones that comes with DAC features
By the way, those who own a G6, did you guys noticed that Instragram has been pre-installed? If yes, how can I fully un-install it, i mean fully without leaving any trace of it so I can go and install some Instagram Mods??

If you buy the unlocked versions (US or international) you can unlock the BL.
If they are carrier branded, the carrier decides if the BL can be unlocked.
But I guess you won't be buying Samsung either. KNOX is a pain.
I'll probably keep my G6 for another year or so. I think after that I'll hop over to a pixel phone.

well I'm from india..here only locked bootloader available..and even if i import the device bands wont match and data gives me trouble..and I'm using my old Samsung note5 kept the g6 aside from almost 2 months
Will never buy an lg phone ever again...for the simple fact that most versions are not boot unlocked. Especially in canada where I am. I got the lgg6 and still no news about a root. Ill go back to samsung.

Good to find some Montreal folks here By the way, I don't know if my information is correct but with Videotron or with the new law that has pass here in Quebec, when you buy a new smartphone, 2 months after you can call your carrier and tell them to fully "Unlock" your phone, meaning the BL. Just bought a week and half ago my LG G6 (coming from Nexus6P, had to change cuz battery draining fast now, gonna change the battery) and I asked the question to the seller and he confirmed to me, that in December, just call Videotron or come by and will make the call for you to get your LG G6 fully unlocked. And I told him, if ain't true i'm going back to kick his ass. And thats when he also mentioned me about the new law as well. So I don't know if this applies to other carriers (should be as long as you're in Quebec/montreal etc..) but you should double check.
By the way, are you saying that Samsungs phones when you buy them here either Videotron or Bell etc.. they are already Unlocked??? Can you confirm??
Also whats the reason you got the LG G6?? Me its mostly the Wide Angle feature. I was battling between Note8 & LG G6 and I went with the LG G6 even though I know that in terms of quality, Samsung Note 8 camera has an edge over the G6 and I heard that Note8 takes also two pics when you take a pic including a wide one but Note8 from what i've research does NOT have that WIDE ANGLE feature LG has... am I wrong???

Well Bootloader lock is not the same as carrier lock. The carrier lock thing you are talking about I already know about it. Its not the same thing. Everywhere in canada there will be no more carrier lock on any phone starting December amd you can call to unlock for free if u had a phone before that.
A boot lock is not the same tho. I went with LG instead of samsung cuz at the time the note 8 and s8 wasnt out yet...i was always a Samsung guy... Also the g6 looked nice and had a big screen...wht i didnt know tho is that lg has menu buttons on screen that you cannot hide unless u buy an app and they eat away from the screen making it a small screen size after all. Also lg has a bad history of not unlocking bootloaders and i didnt know that...samsung on the other hand, I was able to root on day one! All the samsung notes i had from the first nite to the note 5.
I've been trying to sell my g6 and get a note 8.
But aside from all that...the g6 is a great phone...battery life is crazy on it...it lasts a full week on one charge with heavy use. But lets face it...we are all here because we want to root and customize our phones not just to talk how nice they are haha.

Hey man, thanks for your reply and for explaining the difference btw the two Bootlaoder & carrier lock. Appreciate . Thats one other reason why I always had Google signed phone whether developed by Huawei or LG etc.. but with google phones I could as well UNLOCK them instantly.
True about LG G6 menu button on screen but for me that does NOT really bother me to be honest. First thing I did when I got my G6 is install Nova Prime Launcher and make it look like Stock android Oreo period and the rest stays LG style. You see I didn't know much about LG's bad history in regard to unlocking bootloaders
For me, I had and still have an amazing offer DEAL for the Note8 with Videotron but as long as Note can't have that G6 Wide angle option camera, I can pass the Note8 and maybe wait and see what the S9 will bring. Cuz honstly the G6 is a stunning phone just the screen is stellar. Sucks that Videotron ain't getting the V30 this time, they decided to get Pixel phones.
Oh well, lets crossfinger that a working unlock bootloader of G6 or LG will come soon

I would choose the LG V30.
FIRST, it has all the specs (except for front facing stereo speakers) I desire in a phone.
OK, maybe it could have more RAM, maybe an LED notification light, maybe a slightly larger battery (even though this one is getting good reviews). But the LG V30 hits most of the boxes I wanted:
Qi wireless charging (which I have now),
1440p OLED display (which I have now),
at least 64GB internal memory (which I have now),
headset jack (which I have now) +
Snapdragon 835 (which is a next gen gigabit LTE chipset) and
high IP rating (which is requisite now for 2017 top-tier smartphones). Those that don't have that -- cough -- Essential, OnePlus are pretenders.
Even though I have a 2014 Moto XT1225, thanks to the stellar specs it had, it really kept pace with phones through 2015 and 2016. (Snapdragon 805, 3GB RAM, 64GB internal memory, 3900 mAh battery, 1440p AMOLED display, Qi wireless charging, 21MP rear camera, 3.5mm headset jack).
Sure, each year brought iterative CPU updates, but only with the 2017 phones was there a feeling I needed to update. A lot of it was cumulative: stuff like fingerprint sensors, more RAM, and high IP ratings which became common (Motorola, Samsung, LG, Pixel, even iPhone). But suddenly with Snapdragon 835 was there a real "next gen" difference not only in computing speed but also LTE download speeds.
But I didn't want to give up what I already had. Qi wireless charging was my line in the sand. Laugh at that, but it's a real convenience for me and my wife.
Point is, the LG V30 is the first phone that makes me want it as bad as the when I bought three of the 2014 Moto XT1225 phones. (I bought two for me and my wife and later bought a 3rd for emergency backup purposes.)
SECOND, why not the LG G7? Won't it be better than the LG V30?
1) Tell me how it will be better?

I don't trust them to do any better with the LG G7. They will have a nice phone "on paper" but somehow manage to mess it up.
The real problem with the LG G6 was the STUPID regionalized specs scheme.
Want more than 32GB internal storage? Only some of the Asian variants had that.
Want Quad DAC? Out of luck if you live in Europe or U.S.
Want Qi wireless charging? Better move to the U.S.!
WHY? I want more storage, better audio AND Qi wireless -- but there was no LG G6 with ALL the specs. The U.S. unlocked and European unlocked did also qualify for official bootloader unlock, but those were limited to 32GB models only. And the U.S. was the only LG G6 sold world-wide that had Qi wireless. Yes, they all have microSD card expansion -- but only the Asian models had 64GB internal memory + microSD card and then even fewer Asian models had Quad DAC. NONE of the the "better" LG G6 was on the bootloader unlock list, and NONE had "all" the specs.
LG had a winning phone on paper, but they cut that paper up and shipped it to various parts of the world. You could not tape it all back together to get the FANTASTIC phone that could have competed with the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. (Plus, it used "last year's Snapdragon 821.)
Only with the LG G6 Plus (which was NOT bigger, just had more specs) -- released MONTHS later as a follow-up to the LG G6 -- did LG include quad DAC and more storage for ALL countries where it was sold. It was the LG G6 they should have sold in the first place! The mid-year LG G6 Plus (South Korean edition) was the phone LG should have released at the BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.
BUT even then, only the South Korea LG G6 Plus also had Qi wireless charging -- but NOT the European LG G6 Plus or Taiwan variant or others. WHY? (Apparently the LG G6 Plus was not released in U.S. markets officially.) And the super-duper South Korea LG G6 Plus was not on the official bootloader unlock list. NONE of the LG G6 Plus are on the bootloader unlock list.
Also by this time (mid year 2017) when the LG G6 Plus was released, there was no excuse not to have Snapdragon 835. The South Korea LG G6 Plus (with Qi wireless charging, quad DAC, 64GB memory) was the phone LG should have released back in the beginning to the ENTIRE WORLD. At that point (early 2017, with the LG G6) they were beating Samsung to market and had to go with last year's Snapdragon 821. Even with "last year's" Snapdragon (which the Pixel XL also has), at the point in time (early 2017) the LG G6 Plus would have been a winner.
Instead they released parts of the phone to various parts of the world as various crippled flavors of LG G6, then later released the LG G6 Plus -- which not only made LG G6 buyers feel STUPID (they should have waited for the BETTER phone)... but then LG then still didn't fix the "last year" Snapdragon issue. Who is going to pay NEW prices for a Snapdragon 821 phone in mid-2017, MONTHS after other phones with Snapdragon 835 is on the market?
The mid-2017 LG G6 Plus should have had Snapdragon 835, and Qi wireless for all countries, as well as bootloader unlock at least for U.S. and Europe (like the LG G6). Maybe LG felt that would step on the release of the LG V30, but so what? It would have made amends for their very idiotic "regionalization" specs scheme for the LG G6 at the beginning of the year. Also, the LG V30 has AMOLED with a bigger display, so they would not have been identical phones.
OK, rant over about the LG G6 -- but LG has said over and over that now with the "V" series, the "G" series is no longer their premier phone. And how they treated the G6 really proved that point. I'm afraid they will do the same with the G7, and you would say, "I should have gotten the LG V30".
I think LG's attitude is wrong. I think they should release TWO top tier flagship phones per year, like Samsung does.
THIRD, bootloader unlock and root.
For the LG G6, LG did not release the "open market" variants (which are eligible for bootloader unlock) until several weeks later, and only placed them on bootloader unlock list in June 2017. June 30, for the LG G6 US997, practically July 1!
Already I'm waiting until DECEMBER for the LG V30 US998, and hoping it will be placed on the bootloader unlock list by the end of the year. But could be even January 2018.
For those who don't care about root and buy from carrier stores, this third point may not matter. You'll have your LG G7 by March 2018. For those who care about specs, you can always order from South Korea -- but you'll pay full price. Unless LG messes up again and waits to release the "super duper" spec "LG G7 Plus" in mid-2018.... even the one from South Korea -- like they did with the LG G6 Plus.
CONCLUSION
So, even though the G7 will have some slight improvements, I'm afraid LG will mess it up with stupid "regionalized" specs scheme again. Even if they don't, still the version that I want (open market) would probably not be available until mid-year.
Maybe they should wait for the V40... or the G8... or the V50... or the G9.....

At some point you have to jump into the river and swim.
I used to upgrade every year. 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014. Phones that were obviously better, faster, had more features I wanted. LG phones, Nexus phones, and basically the smaller version of the Moto Nexus 6.
The 2014 Moto XT1225 is the longest period I've owned a phone to use as daily driver.
I even briefly owned a 2015 LG G4 I won in a launch contest, but sold it because I still loved my 2014 Moto XT1225.
I've also worked on family members and friends' newer phones (LG, Samsung), but still liked my phone better.
Only with the 2017 LG V30, I'm about to jump back in again.

WHY? I want more storage, better audio AND Qi wireless -- but there was no LG G6 with ALL the specs. The U.S. unlocked and European unlocked did also qualify for official bootloader unlock, but those were limited to 32GB models only. And the U.S. was the only LG G6 sold world-wide that had Qi wireless. Yes, they all have microSD card expansion -- but only the Asian models had 64GB internal memory + microSD card and then even fewer Asian models had Quad DAC. NONE of the the "better" LG G6 was on the bootloader unlock list, and NONE had "all" the specs.
LG had a winning phone on paper, but they cut that paper up and shipped it to various parts of the world. You could not tape it all back together to get the FANTASTIC phone that could have competed with the Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. (Plus, it used "last year's Snapdragon 821.)
Only with the LG G6 Plus (which was NOT bigger, just had more specs) -- released MONTHS later as a follow-up to the LG G6 -- did LG include quad DAC and more storage for ALL countries where it was sold. It was the LG G6 they should have sold in the first place! The mid-year LG G6 Plus (South Korean edition) was the phone LG should have released at the BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.
BUT even then, only the South Korea LG G6 Plus also had Qi wireless charging -- but NOT the European LG G6 Plus or Taiwan variant or others. WHY? (Apparently the LG G6 Plus was not released in U.S. markets officially.) And the super-duper South Korea LG G6 Plus was not on the official bootloader unlock list. NONE of the LG G6 Plus are on the bootloader unlock list.
Also by this time (mid year 2017) when the LG G6 Plus was released, there was no excuse not to have Snapdragon 835. The South Korea LG G6 Plus (with Qi wireless charging, quad DAC, 64GB memory) was the phone LG should have released back in the beginning to the ENTIRE WORLD. At that point (early 2017, with the LG G6) they were beating Samsung to market and had to go with last year's Snapdragon 821. Even with "last year's" Snapdragon (which the Pixel XL also has), at the point in time (early 2017) the LG G6 Plus would have been a winner.
Instead they released parts of the phone to various parts of the world as various crippled flavors of LG G6, then later released the LG G6 Plus -- which not only made LG G6 buyers feel STUPID (they should have waited for the BETTER phone)... but then LG then still didn't fix the "last year" Snapdragon issue. Who is going to pay NEW prices for a Snapdragon 821 phone in mid-2017, MONTHS after other phones with Snapdragon 835 is on the market?
The mid-2017 LG G6 Plus should have had Snapdragon 835, and Qi wireless for all countries, as well as bootloader unlock at least for U.S. and Europe (like the LG G6). Maybe LG felt that would step on the release of the LG V30, but so what? It would have made amends for their very idiotic "regionalization" specs scheme for the LG G6 at the beginning of the year. Also, the LG V30 has AMOLED with a bigger display, so they would not have been identical phones.
OK, rant over about the LG G6 -- but LG has said over and over that now with the "V" series, the "G" series is no longer their premier phone. And how they treated the G6 really proved that point. I'm afraid they will do the same with the G7, and you would say, "I should have gotten the LG V30".
I think LG's attitude is wrong. I think they should release TWO top tier flagship phones per year, like Samsung does.
THIRD, bootloader unlock and root.
For the LG G6, LG did not release the "open market" variants (which are eligible for bootloader unlock) until several weeks later, and only placed them on bootloader unlock list in June 2017. June 30, for the LG G6 US997, practically July 1!
Already I'm waiting until DECEMBER for the US998, and hoping it will be placed on the bootloader unlock list by the end of the year. But could be even January 2018.
So, even though the G7 will have some slight improvements, I'm afraid LG will mess it up. Even if they don't, still the version that I want (open market) would probably not be available until mid-year.

No offense but, your write up seems like an awful lot of work to explain the common sense situation with every consumer decision everyone makes on...anything, ever. You could buy a phone....or wait because the next model could be better. You could buy a toaster...or wait because the next model could be better. That is literally the point..."things" we spend money on need to show they're "worthy" of our dollars so they have to come with slight "improvements" to wow us.....

But with LG it's a little different. They treat the G series differently from the V, and that's been a recent development. The G series (Optimus G aka G1, G2, G3, G4) were the premier phone from LG. Some people still don't realize that LG executives have publicly stated over and over the V series is now the premier phone and the G series is for people who don't care about specs.
Just like since people don't realize T-Mobile is no longer dev-friendly!
The LG G7 will be announced in January, supposedly released in February. This is now mid-November. So, it's a real question, do I wait 2 or 3 months to buy the "newer" LG phone or buy now? Based on how LG thinks of the "G" series, I think buy now. Because the "newer" phone coming out is not LG's premier 2018 phone -- that will be the LG V40. They'll find SOME WAY to make sure the G7 is not "too good".
Even Samsung treats their Galaxy S/S+ more equally to Note series than LG does with G and V series. I know some people have disagreed with this opinion, but Samsung basically releases TWO premier phones per year -- S/S+ in early year, and then Note at end of year. There's enough industry movement in specs throughout the year (RAM, cameras, maybe newer CPUs) to justify that. What is the "norm" at the beginning of the year looks old by end of the year.
I will be very surprised if the G7 is substantially better than the LG V30. It won't have a 7th gen OLED display, they barely got the 6th gen up and running. It might have 6GB RAM, but I would bet they will regionalize that and give that to South Korea and no one else. It probably won't have front facing stereo speakers. IF they do what they did with the LG G6, some regions may have quad DAC, but others won't.
Maybe 128GB internal memory? That would be nice, but will ALL countries get that?

Don't know what the point of this topic really is. OP does not own a V30 and nobody knows jack about the G7. Total personal if you want to spend budget now or wait till price drops or if the new phone will be better...

The point is "Will the G7 be better than the V30"?
I know all about the V30, but I'm waiting for the dev version. (Besides extensive research, I have fondled several in stores.) I actually know about a lot of LG phones -- from either owning them or working on them (rooting, setting them up, maintaining) for friends.
And I know -- even if you don't seem to? -- LG's stated philosophy on the G series starting with the 2015 G4 is: "Don't make it 'too good'.
You don't have to know the specs of the LG G7. Last year the specs "on paper" of the G6 were great, but you couldn't buy an LG G6 with ALL the stated specs. LG regionalized the specs, so no one got a great phone.
So, the choice between the two phones is easy. The answer is easy.
How long you want to wait to buy the LG V30, for price drops, is personal choice.

I do know the philosophy (don't make it personal as always, and yes I have stated you don't own a V30 yet, but that is a fact you mentioned yourself). But philosophy as well as strategy can be easily changed especially when you are fighting/competing and not being the best on a lot of subjects. I think by now they will be realizing that "Don't make it too good" is a stupid strategy and need to reevaluate G7 philosophy.
I think they are already making that strategy too much appearant on roll out plan over the world. Europe lot of countries still no V30

Not making it personal, but I explained in detail LG's G series philosophy. Stated publicly by LG themselves many times over the past couple of years, in a more polite way of course.

Therefore it seemed you still didn't seem to know it... per proof in your post saying no one knew the specs of the G7. My point clearly is we don't need to know the specs.
And yes, that philosophy NEEDS to change. Samsung doesn't do that with their Galaxy S/S+ models vs Note, and neither should LG with G vs V.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't go rushing them in to a release date. They may need until August.
It won't be ready for prime time either. They will ship reviewers a 6 month old pre-production model and the first run will be buggy. By october you might see it at it's full potential.

What "happened" was last year's G6: Regionalized specs, extremely slow rollout is what happened -- coupled with "last year's" Snapdragon. They went with 821 to BEAT Samsung to market, and they didn't beat them to market because of slow rollout.
Other companies like HTC, Motorola were able to sell phones with 835 even after S8/S8+ was released.
So, LG is re-examining all their flawed business practices for the G series, including even the name.
They also need to preemptively place the open market flagship phones on their bootloader unlock list.

If G7 was to follow the last year G6 model (release it fast but with "last years" SoC ) it make sense. LG is usually slow to release after announcing a phone and by the time the phone is out there are already rivals out with the newest SoC. The V30 already looks like 2017 flagship for LG ( what G7 should have been) repeating this business model does not make sense. I suppose we are still going to see one flagship from LG every year, but only one so no more G and V models) and the cycle will change probably released and hopefully available in summer. This is probably what the message says, competing with Samsung for an early release with no SoCs available does not make sense. the G7 was a mess, released in multiple variants with missing features and released with previous year's SoC . By the time they release the 128 GB version V30 was already announced which is a much better phone.

Right. And that G6+ model released in July, still had Snapdragon 821.
Samsung manages to release two flagships per year. LG can do it too. But Samsung differentiates the Galaxy S/S+ series from the Note series while not demoting S/S+. Past couple of years, especially with the G6 it was as if LG didn't want to make it TOO GOOD. "Can't give everyone quad DAC or extra storage or Qi wireless charging. That would make it better than our V20." WHO CARES? Put the best phone out there you can.
Yes, the V30 is what the G6 SHOULD have been.
Now go out there and give us an even better one for whatever the G7 replacement is going to be. Make it better than the V30. I dare you.
Give it better selfie camera, slightly bigger battery, more RAM, stereo speakers. Give it dual cameras with one that can also do portrait mode via software.
Make the 2018 V40 team break out into a sweat. "How are we going to top that?"

Hello guys my screen on my h932 is messed up and even though i love this phone i dont want another lg phone nor want or need a 1000 dollar phone all i need is a phone that is as vanilla as possible and can play good music like the v30 does.
Any idea what device can do those?
I dont mind flashing custom rom to get those beautiful sounds

Don't think there's any non LG phone with this good audio. Try and see if Axon phones have a high quality dac
Otherwise I'd say redmi k20 pro is a pretty solid phone for the price of around 350$
I was also thinking about maybe replacing the screen but i see that tmobile v30 costs almost the same as a replacement screen

Get another V30 -- especially V30+. Are you a T-mobile customer? Even T-mobile customers often use US998 instead of T-mobile H932. The Dev who rooted the T-mobile H932 sold it, briefly got a crappy OnePlus, then came back to V30 but got US998 V30+. He's a T-mobile customer.
You can get MINT US998V30+ for like $130 on eBay.

I cracked my V30 screen too, couldn't stand looking at it anymore so I grabbed a mint condition V40 for $180. The screens only .4 inches bigger but that lil bit makes a huge difference. Plus the colors/resolution are much better too. V50 is nearly identical except for 128GB vs 64GB, a lil bigger battery and 5G, everything else is same, chip, RAM, screen, size.. Still use the V30 though for root apps.

My two US998 V30+ are both 128GB.
2018 V40 (Snapdragon 845) has completely different chipset from 2019 V50 (Snapdragon 855).

Drawback is the only ones available are 64GB. I have one mint, still in the box.
Brazil got 128GB V35+, but I can't get one online.

EU V40 has the LG official bootloader unlock.
All others including V35 have paid root through TeamViewer, which may or may not include Bootloader Unlock. People remote into your PC and work on your phone through your PC. Costs like $20, I think?
Or you can buy a used phone, already rooted from China seller.
This is why V35 in particular never took off in this forum (unlike V30), and has no custom ROMs, etc.

V35 is a better phone than the V40. It's sad that LG caved into the notch on the V40.

how about the lg g8 ( unlocked from sprint/verizon ) ? any possibility of flashing stock rom on that?
I went with the v30 im getting it today the 998 version 128gb just 130 dollars didnt want to spend too much money been happy with v30 when the new one dies ill get v40 maybe

I am in the same boat: My H932 V30+ is finished, digitizer got wonky to the point where I couldn't use it anymore. I didn't want to spend $150 to repair it this time, but also not sure what to choose instead.
Following are my thoughts:
1) I love V30+ and would buy another in a heartbeat if I could get a new one at a reasonable price with 2 years warranty. Between my wife's and my own V30 I've seen enough issues that I want (need) that warranty. Buying used or "seller refurbished" I'd assume that either the battery is in poor shape, OR the phone has been opened and lost IP68, OR both. I don't trust ”mint" to mean anything other than "no deep scratches". I am not ruling it out, but it has to be cheap compared to the alternatives.
2) I always found V35 a great alternative, being a V30 with 6GB/SD845. I really kick myself for not buying one of those unlocked Cricket/AT&T units for $149 last summer. Right now it's probably my best bet at ~$275-300 new (2 years warranty). Downsides are just 64GB (not much on an A/B slot phone). And it would be an AT&T model which cannot be updated without cross-flashing -- which will lose that 2 year warranty anyway. Non-AT&T variants (ULM/GFI) are overpriced.
3) I've looked at G8, which is now $4-500 new for TMO/AT&T variants (more for factory unlocked QM7 variants). Solid specs with 6GB/128GB/SD855. It also supports Band 71 which I would like: If TMO ever goes live with B71 where I live, I'll switch my Red Pocket plan from AT&T to TMO and gain VoLTE. (V30 and V35 don't have B71, except H932 which I would never buy again). But G8 price is still too high for me. And I hate that power button on the side, love V30's fingerprint/power combo on the back. I am OK with G8's form factor and notch, although not as elegant as V30/V35. I also found my V30 screen to be better than G8, even after adjusting color and brightness settings.
4) I don't really need root: I can uninstall bloat and trackers with ADB, and I am more concerned about warranty anyway. But I hate not having the OPTION to root after the warranty period. That of course means V30 > V35 > G8: I don't expect G8 will ever get root. I am not ruling out remote root of V35, though I dislike it as much as the next guy. And I doubt there will ever be custom ROMs to keep V35 relevant after LG stops updating.
5) Unfortunately Quad DAC is less of a priority for me than it was: In just a couple months Meniere's disease has killed my ability to listen to music at anything but the most rudimentary level. I am still hoping I can beat it or improve it over time, so having the Quad DAC would be nice. But if such a wonderful thing were to happen, I could just buy a USB DAC or Shanling M0. Most of my listening is (was) at home anyway.
6) I checked OnePlus 7T in a TMO store and would consider it (not from TMO, of course) if it cost less (currently $599); and more importantly, if the form factor wasn't so ridiculous: It's narrower than V30 and about 12 inches long (well, maybe not quite ) The OnePlus notch is the best I've seen, and I could live with it.
I've been using my old Nexus 5 backup phone for the last few weeks, hoping some deal will come out to sway me one way or another. But that may not happen until after MWC in late February...
Any thoughts or input are much appreciated.
Edit: I saw the eBay listing linked by @ChazzMatt and wrote the seller to ask if he can say anything about battery and whether the phones have been opened. I imagine he bought them bulk, so may not be possible for him to answer -- which I can understand.
