Huawei Ff revealed new oreo firmware pop up as B366 for europen varient..... Now approved for installation
In this update there is a problem with the fingerprint reader when Always on Display is on - once it works and once it will darken the screen and only the power key allows you to wake up the screen

I've installed! Rollback to nougat then installed that version with HWOTA but there a major issue on that version! Home button does not work and fingerprint menu is missing on settings.

368 is now displayed on FF but I'm little afraid to take time with that and have a major issue like on 367. So, I'll steak on 366 for more days.
To resolve fingerprint problem you must disable smart cover in options

366? Try that here and still have the issue.
You're right, it helped me for some time, now it's like it was again. Only turning off the AOD helps.
So, rollback and HWOTa again. 368 installed. They fix the major bug on 367 (don't install that version, home button doesn't work properly and fingerprint missing on settings) but the AOD issue still here.
..
Is it possible to downgrade from B366 to.. B365? Without resetting, i dont want to install everything and so on again..

So... I'm now at AOSP Extended right now, the issue apparently the fingerprint doesn't recognize my right-hand finger, but the left-hand one does. I tried changing firmware but no luck, I haven't tried to revert to stock. Any ideas?

Fix :-
Screen lock > Register unrecognized finger
and add patern/pin
then go to settings
and don't delete the fingerprints
but remove the screen lock itself
and then add screen lock and register fingerprint
Thanks to @JackSparrow17

Hi Guys,
I moved from IOS to Android with the lovely mate 10 recently. The feature I miss most is the raise to wake.
After trying different apps, gravity screen is the one that works the best.
However, after lock screen for more than few minutes, the screen wake up stop working.
When I charge my phone, it works 10/10, so i suppose it is related to battery saving features of the EMUI.
Anyone has any suggestion to fix the problem? I have so far tried "ignore battery optimization", "launch manually".
THe app tells me to use protected apps but I do not see anywhere in EMUI settings.
Have you tried toggles in settings>Battery>Launch>Select gravity app>Run in Background

yes i have allowed all three launching methods. (self-trigger, triggered by others and running in background.
The problem seems to be the sensor being turned off after screen goes black for a while.

Hello guys, Any updates on this issue? I have the same problem.

I have found out how to sort it out as per Rogerrynic quote below.
rogerinnyc said:
It's buried, but you have to "ignore battery optimizations" by going into settings, then apps, then clicking the setting button at the bottom of the apps page, then "special access" and then "allow" the apps you want to survive in "ignore battery optimization". At least that's how it's on my Mate 10 (non-pro), so I suspect it's the same for you.

Hi, this is my first Emui device ,i was wondering is there is a way to get double tap to wake without root.
Thanks
Its not possible at fhe moment
The only way to wake the phone without pressing the power button is touching the screen in the fingerprint sensor area....
another alternative or workaround is turning on "pick up to wake" in settings

If you tap the screen anywhere a purple fingerprint will illuminate on the screen, but the first tap is not necessary if you're already used to where you should put the finger, you can just put the finger even though it is not displaying the purple icon and it will unlock. The optical fingerprint sensor is not great though, was hit or miss for me.
It'd be handy for the screen to turn on though. Are there any good apps that accomplish this? Obviously the screen is already always expecting input so this wouldn't be that much to add, I think.
I sent request to HW to make this very convernient feature. I hope they will listen to users!

They would have to pay LG for the patent to implement it in M20P as double tap to wake is a feature patented by LG.

Exactly. There is already the "double tap to take screenshot" why wouldn't they enable double tap to wake
Maybe somebody who has root can try this
https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-double-tap-to-wake-on-huawei-and-honor-devices/
You can yous doubke tap to wake:
Huawei have very bad AOD, it doesn't have any information only time. I found this AOD that have so much settings and very, very, useful.
- AOD (time, calendar, weather),
- Notification (when you get messages on som application like Viber it shows Viber icon, you can touch icon and read message on AOD without unlock it),
- Blacklist app - app you dont want to show on AOD,
- Duble tap to wake, swipe up for camera and etc...,
- Edge lights for notifications,
- Background for wallpaper,
- Adaptive mod,
- Font style,
- Music Controls,
- Automatic move clock,
- And many more settings...
Name of app: Allways on Amoled Edge Light
LINK: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newgen.alwayson
* I havent test batter drain of this application.
p.s. this is not my application i just found it. All the best, enjoy

It kinda works but the fingerprint reader doesn't always work because of the overlay, I guess that's the payoff. sad that double tap is there but does not do something as basic as wake the phone.

7.Scrolling in google chrome on some websites have delay (not react with my touch immediately or not as smooth and fast reaction as Oreo)(FIXED)
8.Some times i hear a very little sound like 'tik' when i use my phone ( i'm not sure about this )(FIXED)

Hi all,
i used this https://github.com/Domi04151309/AlwaysOn AllwaysOn app i like it! and i decide to mod a few things to work better with our OnePlus 8 Pro.
needless to say. BIG Thx to Domi04151309 for his work.
changes:
- Fingerprint on AllwaysOn. longpress and keep the Finger on screen until its unlocked
- doublepress takes you to lockscreen
- Mediainfo on Lockscreen (doubleclick for play/pause; longpress next track)
- Notificationicons are colored
based on his version 3.7 and keep in mind earlybeta
have fun

yesterday i was happy by the low batteryusage of alwayson. then i started "wizards unite" and just locked the screen. in 20min i got 4% battery lost BUT this was counted as batteryusage of alwayson !!!
it seems while alwayson is running and its the "app" in foreground. EVERTHING that runs and use battery in background is counted as batterusage of alwayson !!!
so pls dont trust the usage in batteryinfo....
ps: does NOT work together with apps like aodNotify or arc Lightning....

the finger also moves! but only max 10dp... dont know how many pixel that is.
but it has to be near to the sensor to work
with root it need less battery. because of a cmd that put the phone into low power mode. this only works with root!

Or replace it with a very transparent icon and only have the actually icon pop-up when the screen is touched. Overlay a black box with the icon and when screen is touched/updated it removes the box and shows the original icon
like the others have said, i would very much like for the option to set the fingerprint icon as a transparent image , due to the image retention nature, im very leery of burn in
hi..
ok here is a new beta. changed a few things:
1. mediacontrol: to avoid unwanted input. now you have to doubletap on mediainfo to enable control. after that single tap is play/pause and swipe left or right for next/prev track
2. animation time: i changed the timeinput from 2min to 120sec. so you can test with i.e. 2 sec and see the controls moving if you worry about burnin.
3. fingerprint: you can set a alpha value from 0 to 10 ... 0 you see no fingerprint and 10 is full
4. you can enter low_power mode without root !!! you have to grant permission with adb shell ->
Code:
adb shell pm grant io.github.domi04151309.alwayson android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
the is also a batchscript in "Dieser PC\IN2023\Interner gemeinsamer Speicher\Android\data\io.github.domi04151309.alwayson\files\_Always"
to explain. the original version use this
Code:
Root.shell("settings put global low_power 1")
Root.shell("dumpsys deviceidle force-idle")
to go into lowpower state
this ->
Code:
Settings.Global.putInt(this.contentResolver, "low_power", 1)
is possible without root if you grant the WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission
i'll attach the new version in First post
Running good.
I don't know if it's by design. But whenever it's on I put my finger near the finger print icon (which is not in the same location as the actually reader) but it sometimes will then wake and scan my finger other times it just doesn't respond and takes for me to constantly tap on the screen to get some sort of action.
Also

Hi there,
I am on non rooted. I have obeserved this strange behavior: If you use it in a pocket, a reminder goes on that you are in pocket mode. This reminder stays on while you are inside the pocket and causes battery drain and potential burn in. Can you check it please: Just cover the brightness sensor with your hand.
