I have Redmi note 3 (SD) . Whenever I install / Flash any type of Custom rom (Nitrogen , RR , Especially Lineage ) the device automatically switches off and starts after some effort , I thought it must be hardware problem but when i installed the official MIUI rom it was working buttersmooth , No issue with it . Can anyone give a solution for this Problem .

I have a friend that ask me to put a custom rom on Redmi note 3 . I know about all limitations of a custom rom and problems that can arrive.
So cause i don't wanna go mad , wich one is the most stable ? i know that he want Marshmallow especially for the preview for the notifications
If u want minimum customization options then flash CM13 official...
If u want maximum customization options then flash RR 5.7.4 official / Dirty-Unicorns / Slim rom
I tried all these roms....
those r pretty stable !
Having a good time with SlimROM - only thing I noticed so far was Bluetooth issues like I had with CM13, where it wouldn't recognise my car stereo as a Bluetooth phone.
I've only used it for 2 days, but haven't experienced any weirdness yet.

Exodus = very buggy and unstable (for me).
Resurrection remix (official) = very stable, many customizations, nice performance. I'm using it for 2months and it's got one tiny bug, which is a night mode (yellow tint). It may get stuck after few days of not rebooting the phone.

Never flash a rom that isn't for your phone or you will very likely brick your phone
Android isn't like windows, you can't simply install the same version on every phone, each rom is only meant to run on a certain device with a specific configuration.
You can install pixel experience for rn4 mido version with Qualcomm cpu here:

However I am not a newbie here , I have been tinkering with android devices , even with earlier mediatek based devices.
I have had my fair share of bootloops and stuff.
The only reason I asked this was that these both devices are literally same. Just different screen sizes(which doesn't matter much in software side of things).
They share same ram, rom, cpu etc.

Just found out , theres no portrait mode on redmi note 5/ redmi 5 plus , whereas portrait mode on rn4 works perfectly on both cams.
Beta of rn4 is more like stable , however it is not the case with note 5/ redmi 5 plus.

I'm suggest ROM thats based on 4.9 kernel for example latest AIM System. It's very stable even with a lot of Magisk modules and EdXposed apps. Latest version that I'm using is 4.1 (Android 10).
Hello, i am verry old here, i used to have a galaxy y but i upgraded to a xiaomi redmi note 4x from my brother i wanted to install a custom rom but every time i try it does not work (sorry for my bad english i am from brazil.) what happends is that it goes to the wizard for setting the phone and i go to the wifi setting and it restart. if somewone can help me i will be verry happy .

my device is redmi note 9s ,bootloader is open ,
firmware was MIUI 12.5.5 indian version android 11
i flashed TWRP and installed crdroid android 13 ,, after that i noticed my device got many problems :
1- mini lag ( about .25secend )
2- when try to call someone i always got ( call ended )
3- when someone try to call me my phone ring for just a second then it ends call itself
4- when playing video/audio the speaker work 2 seconds and not work the same period
.............
i tried to :
1- install another rom MIUI ( the first ) using TWRP i got the same problems in addition to rebooting after 3 minutes when screen off
2- install MIUI razer edition i got logo boot loop
3- install reserrection remix using orange fox i got the same problems
......................
any suggestion / help ,please
If this is your daily driver I would suggest you to take a backup and flash stock miui and relock the bootloader as now they have updated to android 12 and miui is the safest you could go.
Otherwise I would say just look for different custom roms and see the replies then flash the one that seems most promising, also I would say use official stable builds with developers actively working on them rather than unofficial forgotten builds.
