Who's back? We're back.
CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!
MORE IMPORTANT NOTICE: We are very proud to announce that we are the first and only custom ROM to actually get the Now Listening Feature working on AOSP.

I do enjoy your ROM. I was getting tired of high contrast icons from JB times itself and yours is an 8.1 without the high contrast icons unlike others. Thanks. If there is anything else, I have not tried it. For me the primary objective is to have a working VoLTE and Carbon just required APN settings for that.
Appreciate all the work that have gone in to make Torch and USB tether work.
Camera control by default seems to be questionable even in stock ROM itself - hence not surprised to find jumpy focus issue. Anyway my Asus ZE552KL 16MP camera gives a high clarity picture than the 21MP on X2 - I personally experienced it while trying to figure out IC number of an SMT device under the same ambient light. Either my cam on X2 is bad or the focus-to-near-object is worse in X2.
However I would like to know why an always ON clock screen waiting for notifications to arrive. In my opinion you have saved some battery life by avoiding high contrast icons/text but negated it by having such a screen. But if there is a way to disable it please let me know. Please see attached image.
To all the devs including @infrag, who was actually forging ahead fast on AICP 8.0, and a quietly surprising @shivatejapeddi with PEO, @KuranKaname getting us an 8.1 official AICP, X2 Oreo is becoming a must have ROM irrespective of the flavor and no support from Le Eco. Thank you all.

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

CM bugs
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
THIS ROM USES MM BOOTLOADER
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source.

* I will probably drop support for this ROM as soon as Official AICP nightlies is available for Oneplus X
* This ROM is still in the ALPHA stages so it is generally NOT recommended for daily use, Proceed at your OWN RISK
* I DO NOT ENTERTAIN harassment and rude users. If you don't like it, please don't use it or build it yourself

FAQ:
Q: I'm stuck on the OnePlus screen! Your ROM doesn't boot!!
A: You are probably still on the LP bootloader. Please follow these instructions on how to upgrade to the MM bootloader.
Q: XXX is broken!
A: This ROM is still in the alpha stages so bugs are expected. If a bug that is not in the known issues list is found please report with a log and reproduction instructions.
Q: When will feature X be implemented?
A; I am not part of the AICP team but just an unofficial builder so I really don't know.

I have not received a reply after 2 days. I will do my best to see what I can do on my end for those bugs.
Charging!
Well its good to see more N ROMs coming out.
But what worries me is the lockscreen ss you have posted,
73% and still require 1hr 28min.
The other reason could be that u might have connected the device to the PC.
BTW,
Will be testing this ROM after few days!
Thank you so much for this rom. This rom can definitely be used a daily driver. I hav got good battery life, though this miscellaneous is topping the battery chart can you look into it @Wind07

Id also like to know.
Nice to see this ROM here.
Ive updated the bootloader and I'm coming from PAC Rom (The final build).
I did a clean flash with no GAPPS.
There are few things I noticed:
1) Calls Crashes a lot. Can't make or recieve calls.
It's the same problem for all Nougat ROMs I've tested for this phone.
2)Alert Slider doesn't work for me (aka Tri state keys)
3) As mentioned in OP, HDR isn't working.
4)Few lockscreen settings are hidden from the settings but can be opened by searching in the settings app. (for ex lockscreen visualizer).

Well the last ROM I was on was CAF Resurrection Remix, then I updated my BL, then flashed your ROM. It was buggy in your first build, but now it seems to be working with the latest build. I have top set to none, middle to priority, and bottom to alarms only.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Nice.. Great job sur .. Keep it up ?
Hoping to get official support which we couldn't get in nougat , Thanks for the rom.
Does this ROM has sound crackling issue ?
Can use open camera/GCam?
Y'all guys need to try first due it's an initial release state
That mean bugs in this rom may be different for each other and chance of it could be high
So, feel it your self by try it out is better than asking with huge curiosity (that will make insomnia for you )
Anyway, i have to congrats to the devs for bringing a lot of custom roms for our phone
Keep rockin' :good:
Amazing!
No Have Radio Fm
thanks for the rom ,good work but missing fm radio
Perform ok, battery life can increase by setting kernel adiutor/ EX kernel manager.
Maybe the issue like in almost Oreo, sound echois, phone info *#*#4636#*#*, battery indicator charging offline.
Dolby atmos Oreo unity work, viper4afx work
Camcorder only via footej, third APK cam just worked in photo.
Maybe along the time it's will be fixed
Nice Rom :good:
can anyone tell the antutu benchmark score of this rom?
2gb Variant.
please.

?? Awesome rom bro! No Lags, No audio bug, No camera bug, or any other major bugs....Thanks a bunch. ??
Rom has volte trigger issue , everything else is working fine , awesome rom . Thanks for it:good:
Thanks for the smoothest, most stable Oreo ROM I’ve used on the Vibe K5. Could not find any major bugs, other than erratic notification LED behaviour, the VoLTE trigger issue, and lag while “night light” is enabled. Audio and camera functionality is quite stable, which is rare compared to other A6020 Oreo ROMs.
@[email protected] thanks for gifting us (me, yes it is subjective) the best rom for this device. First time a rom to be compared with Omni by harry. Excellent work bro.. Ignoring the VoLTE Trigger Bug, I can say it is a "One of Its Class Rom". The magic of Sources of DU is clearly dominant and is very well depicted by the top notch performance with great battery backup. You got a permanent user of DU. Even the AEX having cherry-picked commits from many roms and DU as well cannot match this rom's performance and snappiness.. I hope you keep it on highest priority wrt to monthly updates if they are planned for this rom, else the current build has nothing to improve on(Being a permenant Jio User, still I can ignore the VoLTE bug, considering the power of this rom :victory::victory::victory The rom is super fluid bro...
Still few things I would like to suggest on top of the DU source(if the rom stay unofficial)

THIS :highfive::highfive::highfive:
And A Stylish VoLTE Icon if possible
Kudos and keep it up, and DU is far better than AEX and PE.. :good::good::good::good::good:

Thanks for the good words man! Stylish VoLTE icon incoming in next build
I shall see what I can do about those double tap to sleep stuff
Thanks
Guys, Probably the VoEnabler Magisk Module available under Magisk Repo(Magisk Manager>>Download) fixed the trigger issue which occurred after disabling/enabling data. But it doesn't survive reboots. I mean after toggling enhanced LTE mode once in every reboot fixes the issue.(at least for me).
And the surpassing thing is on first boot VoLTE works after I enable WiFi calling and toggle enhanced LTE mode. VoLTE Works without any triggering issue. But on second boot triggering issue comes. I did two clean flash to verify the issue for me.
Also @[email protected] the recipient of the call, doesn't hear the voice unless I speak loudly. Is it a known issue or shall I provide logs?

NFC dont work, will fix today.
I have LEX722 for testing, so cant check it.
Looks good. There is a lack of adding functions to the keys under the screen. No visualization of network traffic. Cool dark theme.
Thank you, it's great to see that devs haven't stopped giving some love to our device
i am gonna cry.. Omni is back!!!
Went back to Paranoid 7.3.5, but when all bugs are fixed, I will definitley test this out! I'm hyped for OMNI ROM, thanks for developing!

When it was nougat, i am maintain omni official for le max 2. For oreo we dont support leeco. And for pie I decide to continue this work. Darkobas has many work with op6 and rom source, so I am buying few days ago LEX727 for develop and tests. (All the more so we have one common tree for max2 and pro3 devices).

@andr68rus, Thank you so much for giving us another pie option.
I am getting ready to install and test this build, so I cannot test NFC yet. However, @qqzwc NFC built a fix for the stellar Lineage 16.0. Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77922112&postcount=397
Perhaps you could integrate his solution into this Rom and save some time.
FYI: I've excellent results using Lineage 16.0 along with Magisk Canary builds and the Arnova Pixel 3 Camera

Thanks, but it's not a patcher for nfc fix, it's only a modification for nfc card emulation and smartcard service fix.
A easy way to fix nfc card emulation is to modify /vendor/etc/libnfc-nxp.conf.
For NFC fixing, just look into the lineage review and search "nfc".
I will test this ROM later, thanks for the building

Very good job. Rom promises to be great. I noticed here and on lineage 16 that for both graphic menu, settings are cut. I see that at a friend on the Samsung S7 edge. Maybe it's the blame of switching the launcher into an evie launcher.
@andr68rus, thanks for your new ROM! I confirm that NFC is working! I have just a force close with Kodi: I'll try to send you, as soon as possible, a log. The camera you suggested is perfect! I can't find some (not important) stuffs: percentage of battery, battery icons...: are there in the ROM or they will be implemented?

We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Ruby, based on Android 11.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

To add: The trigger condition is that after the custom style wallpaper is set for the first time, click the setting again to cause a crash.

Yeah, It's a know issue (thanks CAF). To fix that change system language to English, apply the default theme then go back to your language.
How's the sound quality of this ROM compared to others? (Or at least normal MIUI)
After I've tried these custom ROMs their sound quality is terrible, what's the situation with your's?

Well, I'm using audio configs from MIUI, so you can try it and tell me
LOVE PA with substratum
Sound is different, but not too bad (something with stereo imaging). Problems I've encountered:
1. Mobile data doesn't work and if it works, only for few seconds (EU provider, decent connection(some apps work fine when others keep on saying there's no internet connection))
This can be APN related.
2. Screen didn't auto flip for me.
For troubleshoot, I've done everything according to instructions + was using PA recovery.
GCam could also be preinstalled as open cam is a joke.
Problems aside, I loved the feel of the ROM and looking forward to it's updates.

Thank you for our feedback.
About the mobile data not working, you're the first reporting this issue, can you attach a log here plz? So I can take a look at the issue.
But make sure you're not using any kind of modifiers (like Magisk or custom kernels).
What do you mean about "Screen didn't auto flip"?
GCam Go is the default camera app, it isn't too bad. Isn't a good idea do ship a GCam because people like different versions of it, and shipping it as system app will cause trouble for who wants to use another version than preinstalled one.

Bump:
Auto-rotate works fine with magisk and everything else. Fixed mobile data issues by deleting APN's Proxy and Port settings and it started working fine (APN was auto-set by ROM).
Everything else is simple and butter smooth. Worth switching from original/xiaomieu ROM.

NOTE: It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup (or with any backup/restore app) as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug, restoring regular apps is fine. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.

- As you know build is free but building ROM needs server and in order to maintain the source, we need High-End Servers that are generally very expensive and need to be renewed every single month and as a student its quite difficult. To meet with our technical expenses, a cup of coffee, and the efforts of the developers we need your monetary support!

Great news. Thank you.
it's impossible to access bootloader from OO12 official ?
Is there a way to make the alert slider work? It's the only thing holding me back from installing custom roms on this phone because I use it daily.
Thank you for this ROM! Everything seems to be working BUT super wide Camera. Its black and white for me and not super wide. Anyone else has this issue?

In the other thread a user reported that with other ROM ( derpfest or something similar) the slider works. So workaround exist. Just need to find and apply...
Hi guys, I have a Oneplus Nord 2 and I would like to try a custom rom. I've had experience with custom roms with my previous phones (e.g. Pixel 2 xl) but this is the first time I would flash a rom with a Mediatek chip. Is there a step to step guide on how to flash this rom, starting from the android 12 rom? Thanks.
As of right now, the OS isn't recognizing the alert-slider (no logs when changing its state). It has been implemented on other Android 12 ROMs (which are worse that this new release), so I guess that we have to wait for a new re-implementation.
Looking through the Telegram GC, it looks like it runs well and with good SoT, just have to wait for this.
is there a face unlock ? must have for me
Pocket mode working?
I have one mor question about this ROM. If new realeses will come, can you update it without loss data?
Hi,
Thanks for this rom, I have been testing it for a week, and here are the issues I have found:
* Brightness - reacts extremely slowly, it's not adjusting properly to env.
* Problems with Bluetooth and my watch sometimes it can't be "discovered"
* Camera - can't even compare to stock.
* Android Auto and Spotify - Sometimes it produces crackling sounds. (Probably related to Bluetooth)
* Battery drain issue
* Some apps like Fakty (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.tvn.android.fakty&hl=pl&gl=US) have low quality in video materials (drm? missing hw acceleration?)

Auto-brightness works bad because of proprietary blobs that can't be ported to other ROMs.
The included cam-app sucks, a GCAM is pretty much needed: get a right version and XML here.
I haven't tested the ROM yet but people on the main Telegram GC basically said that it was on-par with OOS11, both battery and performance wise.
I don't know about Fakty, but in general there is this GPU issue which could be only resolved with the OSS-vendor. The situation should still be better than PE12.
@SakilMondal
