Lately i've been a complete casual/noob in terms of android rooting and until like 10 minutes ago i dont even know that recovery mode and odin mode actually existed. So i was hoping that someone could explain to me the basic operations you can do on your phone including rooting and upgrading the firmware.
My Samsung S6 Edge+ is still on Android 5.1.1 and everytime i try to upgrade android version it just said that an unknown error has occurred.

Im a user of these 2 devices and not a developer maybe in the future i will (maybe), but still i recently updated a good app and now both rebooted at the exact same time and now booth stuck in a boot loop.
(reported the app)
NOT ROOTED ON EITHER.
ALL STOCK LEGIT UPDATES
I can access the odin screen and the recovery screen.
I need these devices back i use them as my computer and phone.
Some issues-
They wont show up on my computer when connected
kies has never worked on my computer right so thats out.
Ideas would be great and i know this isnt meant ofr this forum really since its more developer problems but i figure those who root and abuse the devices can fix them some how.
1) would having a legit version of the samsung 4.1.2 and tell the tablet to install that from the recovery would that fix it?
2) since i get in to odin!!! can i put a Rom on it and get that to work. ( no clue how to root and do this)
If so please link a video and everything i need to do it
Anyhting please anyone the information is priceless...
(*Here's how the whole story started.) So I recently wanted to update my Galaxy S3, and for some reason the Baseband Version was different from other AT&T Galaxy S3 Devices. So, after I brought it in to Best-Buy they said they can't fix it, even though I contacted Samsung and they told me they could flash it with this ''SMART'' Tool (Which Probably is Odin3) Rooted or Not. I was tired of trying to fix this because, I was on 4.0.4 Ice-Cream Sandwich, and my friends bragging about the 4.4 KitKat Update they received. I literally tried everything, from clearing the Google Services and the AT&T Software Update on the Application Manager. I had the Baseband Version: I747UCLF5. I was tired of not getting the update, so I just flashed the Original ROM from Samsung-Updates, using Odin3. Samsung-Updates had only 4.1.1 Jelly-Bean, so I thought about just updating from Jelly-Bean.
(*Here's how the Samsung Galaxy S3 wouldn't turn on), and was stuck on a boot-loop.) So, continuing the story, I successfully updated to 4.1.1. Jelly-Bean. So, when I was on the 4.1.1 Jelly-Bean I checked for updates, and I successfully updated to 4.3 Jelly-Bean. Yes, I know that the 4.4 Kit-Kat update was out, so I continued updating the phone via OTA. When it finished, it started updating with AT&T Logo on top and the Percent with the Bar on the bottom. After it reached 100%, it was rebooting crazy. The Samsung logo went on and off and the phone went vibrating every second. I'm pretty sure my power button is not broken and when I put it in Recovery-Mode the same updating process came. (AT&T Logo, Loading Bar with Percent and a message saying ''Updating...''). Ever since that day, I re-charged it and I put it in Recovery-Mode, and same thing happens and when it finishes it's doing the boot-loop. I tried putting it in Download-Mode and tried to flash it with Odin3, but it didn't work at all. It had this error message. I'm pretty sure the Boot-Loop is caused by a Locked Boot-Loader. This is What it says in Download Mode.
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I747
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official

QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE

Please try to help me with my situation. I am currently using a older phone, and I am desperate of getting my phone back. Thanks! Anything will Help!
Hello, so I've been stuck with my Android phone being on Recovery mode, GT-19060, Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.
I tried installing the Marshmallow software in the phone manually, but instead somehow the software got deleted and I can't go to the normal android.
I go into the reboot section, and try to power off then I found "No OS installed!"
Then, I connected my Android to my computer and got ODIN and everything connected, except finding a new ROM. (which is a software, I think so)
I'm not an expert in these kinds of things but I just need help on getting my phone on Marshmallow or Lollipop, even if lower than Lollipop, but I'd want the Marshmallow or Lollipop so all that I've done doesn't go to waste.
Thanks!

You should be able to find firmware to flash with Odin from www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ to get your device working again.

and I would like to upgrade my phone to Lollipop or Marshmallow
Thanks!
Hello,
I just purchased what was supposed to be a brand new Galaxy S8 in Hong Kong (I live in France) and once home found out it had been rooted. I am not sure if it is still rooted because I can't open Magisk Manager (the app says the version of Magisk on my phone is no longer supported by the app) and Root Checker says my device has no root access. Nonetheless, banking apps won't open, Samsung apps (Pass, Health...) either, and Netflix doesn't work.
I have gone through multiple threads to try and unroot my phone but flashing new firmware through Odin has failed and Smart Switch says my device is up to date (I have android 8.0 so it isn't).
My Knox has been tripped, my binary is 'Custom' and so is my Device status which leads me to believe my phone is still rooted.
There is no way for me to exchange my phone and Samsung have been unhelpful when it comes to providing a solution.
I would like to flash stock firmware on my phone but as I mentioned it consistently fails: either because of a PIT failure or a Bootloader Failure. My device model is said to be SM-G50FD but in Odin mode my phone says it is a SM-G950N which seems weird to me.
I am not experienced when it comes to rooting devices (and unrooting them) and am afraid of bricking my phone which is why I am asking for help here. If anyone could provide tips as to what I should do to get rid of the root I would be extremely grateful ! Thank you all.
flash samsung galaxy with odin done but unroot doest succesfully help me now what i do????
Hi all
I'm new here so I'm really sorry if this has already been asked, i haven't rooted my device in a long time, my galaxy s8 sadly died a while ago, so I'm now using an old galaxy a50 2017 version.
I wanted to root my device, after i tried to do that with odin, and rebooted, i got a red text message on my screen saying that only official kernel can be flashed or something like that, so i read a little bit abd it seems that rooting isn't that easy anymore, my oem option in developer settings is gone now, and i heard it will be back in 7 days, is there any possible way to root my device in 2020 without getting this message and being forced to flash stock Android on my device ?
The main reason for me to root my device is to overclock it a little bit.
Any help will be very appreciated, thanks in advance ..
