No Service on Cube WP10 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to make a Cube WP10 work on USA phone frequencies? I purchased it from Aliexpress and was not aware the the phone would not work in the USA because of the different frequencies, is there a firmware / software package that will reprogram the frequencies?
Thank you
GG

Would love to see help with this question. As we bought one, when researched specifically says it will work with most cell carriers, even names them. But then I had found another site that said that they are not compatible ?!?!?... It was advertised to work. But it doesn't. Didnt do in-depth research before buying since was advertised as GSM unlocked and no where said it wasn't compatible through the seller. Help on how to fix the sim/ network error would be much appreciated. Please.

Question about the XDA Developers Rom.....

Hi, I have a Wallaby which was originally from the United States. I live in England however. I downloaded the XDA Developers Rom and installed it which unlocked my device with no problems. However, the only network I seem able to use is O2 (I tried a friends chip) but I want to use my T-Mobile UK chip. I tried the function included in the rom which allows you to switch bands but I still cant get it to recognise T-Mobile, I don't know if it is anything to do with the radio stack, I don't think it is but I could be wrong? Anyway, can any of you offer anyt advice or have you maybe had the same or a similar problem? If so I would really appreciate any imput you might have. Many thanks.
xda1 is only dualband and us xda1's only support 900/1900 not 900/1800 like eu use no way of getting around that really
hi
my previous wallaby was phone edition DT Com from the states, friend of mine which bought it there for me unlocked it and I used it normally in Bosnia, also he had one US wallaby marked as siemens sx56 also unlocked and used here too. As far as I can remember he also bought one more for his cousin here too... Now you know where all those old wallabys are - here !
Dont want to argue is it possible or not just want to inform you, maybe those wallabys was some special kind, dont know.
GL
900Mhz is used by both us and eu so operators who use that band are supported but there is no way to make a dual band a tri band or any way to change a eu dualband to a us dualband that i know of
My Qtek 1020, incidentally bought in the UK, also suffers from this 'feature' and as a result only works on O2 and Vodafone (maybe others but those for sure), but definitely not on T-Mobile and Orange.

Neil.

[Q] A couple of q's from a European user

Hi guys!
My first post ever here so please forgive the noobiness and the perhaps many q's..
A friend is in the US & can hopefully bring me this monster of a phone to Germany next week; I just called an AT&T shop though and the (very helpful I have to admit) rep said that they will not be selling them unlocked and cannot unlock them, expected I guess. Now a couple of q's:
- Will it first of all function in Europe?
- How difficult is it going to be to remove the sim lock so I can use my German o2 sim card in it?
- I suppose it will have loads of AT&T and Motorola software on it but how intrusive are they at the end of the day, can't you install LauncherPro for example?
I currently have an unrooted Nexus One & was just about to order the Nexus S but the Atrix is just too good to not buy.
Thanks for all help you guys provide through the forums!!
It will not function without an unlock code. You can remove all the at&t bloatware. Yes you can install launcher pro over motoblur. The difficulty of unlocking the phone really depends. Usually you can pay a few dollars to some website to unlock it.

Any contributions are welcome
How well would a US bought Atrix work in Europe ? Will it operate across all GSM/3G frequencies or have some limitations ? The reason I ask is as I've seen some threads where they talk about a gsm version of the Atrix, but AT&T do operate with a gsm setup ... ?

From Wikipedia:
Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia
In Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia most of the providers use 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands. GSM-900 is most widely used. Fewer operators use DCS-1800 and GSM-1800. A dual-band 900/1800 phone is required to be compatible with almost all operators. At least the GSM-900 band must be supported in order to be compatible with many operators.

I bought my Atrix when I was in S.Korea

I bought my Atrix when I was in S.Korea
Now I am in Thailand. There are two network signals for 3G here, 850MHz and 900MHz. I checked the Korean Motorola web site and found out it only supports 2100MHz.
Korean version doesn't have a radio function either. Some said actually it supports radio too but somehow users cannot use and find it. Coz telecommunication companies in Korea don't want people use the radio for free. so they blocked it.
(Radio application costs with 3G usage and it profits them)
Probably they don't want user bring out his phone outside of country also.
It's so ridiculous. Korean Motorola modified its tech spec for just Korean user?
I guess they restricted (or blocked) functions by using Korean firmware. you guys think it's possible? Should I change my firmware to use?
If any help it will be appreciated.
(I suck at English hope you understand what I ask)
Atrix does not support fm radio. A chip on board does, but the connections are not made on the motherboard.
i believe he refers to radio baseband software like ATT as N_01.77.36P and bell as some other kind. also tried 2 different radios and cant get it to work . remember to back up by CWM rom manager before you change anything. i also have a korean atrix i was just trying so see if different one will increase speed.

Unlocked Gear S on any cellular carrier network? ATT version compatible with T Mob ?

I saw a couple of tech points in the other threads. I myself have purchased the Att variant and planning to set it up with T Mobile but as I said, someone pointed out that they have different cellular banding or something to that effect. This person went on to say even if we were to get the ATT Gear S version on T Mobile that speeds would probably only be 2G.
From the articles that I've read on the Gear S specs I haven't come across anything saying that Samsung has designed specific versions for each U.S. carrier.
I do not have the answer at this time whether or not full cross compatibility is built into the device or not. Purely going by what has been announced, again I do not think it has been modified to keep us from doing carrier jumps.
I will update when Tmobile gets their networks up and running for the Gear S. If anyone can clear this up with for sure information, please do so. Feel free to speculate but if you're not certain please say so. Thanks.
If I can't get full functionality on the TMobile network with my ATT purchased and unlocked Gear S, I guess I'll have to return it and pony up the extra $50 that TMobile charges and fully join that club. Guys it may not be worth the hassle. I'll have an update soon on how all this works out, however I'd like to welcome feedback on the issue.

Im doing the same thing tomorrow.
You can go to Samsung.com to check out the official spec. There are 5 different carrier variants but only three listed so far: AT&T (SM-R750A), Verizon (SM-R750V) and Sprint (SM-R750P). The missing two are T-Mobile (SM-R750T) and US Cellular.
Each listed different supported network (CMDA vs GSM) and bands.
It has the Snapdragon 400 which supports a HUGE number of bands and supports a global mode for both CDMA and GSM.

Someone will figure out a way to get the device to work with them back and forth ... it may be through a rom or a command line. But if you aren't a tinkerer you'll probably want to go with the version of the watch for your preferred carrier.
Update: I did a search through the FCC and didn't see one with T-Mobile specific bands (1700/2100). Bad news though is that there definitely are two variants for CDMA AND GSM. Argh. I stand brutally corrected!

Please help me. I may have made a mistake!

Hello everyone. I'm fairly new here.
I had a moto e4 plus but I'm ditching it as I've bought a redmi 5 plus 4 /64 (I believe) from eglobal.
The terrible thing is that I don't know which carrier it works on. I didn't do much research. I just read that it was really good for the money so I bought it impulsively.
It's all my fault, I know.
Can anyone be so kind as to tell me what carrier it'll work on? I tried to do it myself but all the different bands and networks and frequencies confused me.
I'm in the USA in Texas, if that helps any.
Thank you in advance.

All those letters and numbers confuse me.
Would you kindly tell me what carriers I'll be able to use with this device?
T-mobile, boost, virgin, etc...

There is a suggestion why don't you borrow sim card from any of your friend and check either it will work or not.
Or you may go to service center and try different carriers.
Redmi 5 Plus supports almost all kind of popular carriers I am from Pakistan and have friends of almost all countries and they use use redmi 5 plus with carriers available at their country.
Regards
The problem is that everyone I know uses Boost mobile so I have no way of testing it on other carriers. I don't think I can test on Boost because they don't use sim cards.
I think I saw on YouTube that I'll be able to use AT&T, cricket wireless and T-mobile. Can anyone confirm?
Ps. I don't actually have the phone yet. Supposed to arrive Thursday.

The global version should work on most popular carriers. I can't say for the US but for the PH, Smart and Globe (carrier duopoly) work perfectly fine and support voLTE
