I downloaded the Just a Line app on my H933, running 7.1.2, and with the latest arcore apk installed. When I open it crashes and the toast says AR not supported on this device.
Has anyone else gotten this to run? There are reviews from other v30 owners.
Working for me on 8.0 - may not support Nougat even with AR Core installed?
working on my v30 korea with oreo
Oreo is a requirement for AR Core
I just got the 8.0 update on t-mobile but cannot install ARCore or AR Stickers or Just a Line. Where are you downloading the app from? even if I dl the apk I get "There was a problem parsing the package.
I'm on Oreo an AR core doesn't work for me
Also on TMobile v30 w Oreo here and cannot install the arcore apk. That was really the only thing I wanted to try on Oreo.

I used an older ARcore APk from before may 4 update and it installed fine along with AR Stickers, Just a Line, PaintAR(older version newer one requires newer ARCore) I think they took the v30 off ARcore support with newest update due to driver issues.

Just got the Oreo Update, but it seems like the ARCore support was removed, anyone know anything more on this?
It was said that with Oreo update. ARcore would be supported.
I know, it's not!
I downloaded Just lines apk. Worked fined. I'm thinking Google has to add the V30 to its supported devices for AR Core.

Hopefully the phones we have will survive long enough to have another update next year. https://blog.motorola.com/2018/08/15/baked-android-pie-coming-motorola/
Yey. Let's wait till end q1 of 2019 when Google starts to test Android Q for Motorola to get P ready for it's last year's phone's. Or do I have to remind you that Oreo was released end April/early May to the original Z play?

Yes, starting with the 2018 models, or maybe only with the Z3 since it's the most expensive ones. Or do you really believe that our one year old phone will get updates that quick? They are not Pixels and knowing the update strategy of Lenovo for the past couple of years and without treble we can be lucky if we even get it this year. or have you forgotten the Oreo update? And it wasn't even to 8.1, just 8.0
I am still on 7.1.1 Nougut. According to support, I am on the latest update. But on 08/31 they claimed they are behind, but it is coming soon.
Shouldn't the all be the same regardless of software channel, build number, SKU, Version, etc.? They are all Moto Z2 Play. Mine is even unlocked so I would think that would be a benefit.
Here are the specs from the "about phone":
- Moto Z2 Play - UNLOCKED version (carrier independent)
- Software Channel = "retla"
- Build Number = NPSS26.118-19-1-16
- SKU = XT1710-06
- Version = PVT1
- Baseband version = M8953P_23.33.07.34.01RALBUS_LATAMDSDS_CUST
- Security patch = February 1, 2018
- Android 7.1.1. (Nougut)

I had the update like in mid July, but it didn't take. It got all messed up and went back to 7.1.1
So I installed Oreo on the side and put Custom Rom on top of it.

Same here. I have no idea why my phone won't update. I have it unlocked and rooted with Magisk, but won't it still detect the update and try to download it? I just need to unroot first and flash it and it should be just fine I thought. But nope, still on 7.1.1 with the February 2018 security patch. I'm on software channel retus. Right now I'm not really too concerned with getting a new version of Android on this phone since everything is stable but I'd like to know why my phone never got the 8.0/8.1 update.

It depends on carrier. Although, if you ask them, carrier will say it depends on Moto; but truth is, it isn't. As far as I know, AT&T Latin America released (or it was Moto?) 8.0 Oreo in August, which has been already updated up to September, 2018. Next should be 9, but... Yes, 8.0 was released same time as 9 for Pixels, a full year after Z2 device landed. So, statistically, 9's OTA should be inside AT&T's Z2 devices, late in 2019. That would be another year, probably along with 10's appearance! but... Maybe not. Who knows what's in their heads. Point seems to be keeping OTA fans (don't count me in) eager as hell.

Is pie update coming or not? Or are there a custom pie ROM available? Would you recommend flashing ROM? I mean will it reduce battery or performance? Thanks in advance.
The Android Pie 9.0 update we get for Moto Z2 Play will be still on 32bit architecture?

So did they mean this Fall as in NOW? Coz I'm still on 8.0.0 as "latest" and seriously peeved considering these Z²s are pretty much vanilla Android to begin with
Mi A1 received Android 9 pie update and now it supports dual 4G + volte. Really shocked to see Snapdragon 625 supporting dual 4G and that too enabled with an update. And Moto doesn't even update their os to 64 bit.

For this device to be updated to 64bit, it would require formatting, users would lose all their stored data. How well do you think that would go over with the general public?

That is a fair point. Although it's fairly easy to backup data on a phone with SD card, not everyone will like it. I had Asus zenfone 3 which came with 64bit OS despite 3GB of RAM and camera 2 API was enabled so the Gcam and hdr+ worked without root. Thought Z2 play with 4GB RAM, better camera sensor and stock Android will be even better. I was wrong.
Is it possible to give this feature to all v30 models in android pie?
We already have it now in Oreo:
Fully enable DTS 3D stereo (root needed)
For all models, with most recent Oreo software. Been rolling out since December 2018 and now all models that have the updated firmware have the DTS framework. Yes, you need root, but all V30/V30+/V30S can be rooted.
Can you clarify your question?

I know that the feature is enabled with root. I just wonder if it is possible to fully open this feature with the new android update. Also thanks.

LG must be putting the framework (libs) into the V30 for a reason... I would expect in some future update they will enable it for unrooted, stock firmware. But we have no guarantee.
I run an unofficial AEX OS on my Samsung J7 2016, I tried installing the apk recommended on Netflix's site but it shows a message saying this device is not supported by the app. The only solution I found so far is using a modded version of Netflix from 2017. I really want a newer version of the app, even if it's not the latest. Can anyone help me out
Netflix are indeed blocking users who are rooted or have unlocked bootloaders from downloading their app off the Google Play Store. Their latest 5.0.4 release also It's reported that it seems to remain fully functional on rooted/unlocked devices when the application is downloaded from a third-party source, and then installed.

I'll look into that
Google's list of arcore supported devices doesn't have MI note 10 lite. https://developers.google.com/ar/discover/supported-devices
Can anyone confirm whether it's supported or not? I think this can be tested by checking whether this app is available in playstore or not.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.ar.core
It is not supported out of the box Google play store is showing "Your device isn't compatible with this version" for https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.ar.core
ARCore is now available
Pokémon go prompted me to install Google play services for ARCore and I successfully installed it from PlayStore (version updated on August 21, 2020).
Although I haven't tested it properly.
ARcore available but not working
I installed google services for AR and ARcore from Google Play store without a problem, but once I actually try to open ARcore it gives me the same error message everytime, so i went to check on Google's site if xiaomi mi note 10 lite is supported and unfortunately they say it is not.
P.S. Mi Note 10 is actually supported but lite and pro versions aren't...

yap same, I installed it cause Pokemon GO asked me to install, but it not working, the list from Google updated with support for Mi Note 10, the Note 10 lite are actually using same processor, so I guess it gonna take sometimes or probably MIUI 12(which may include the libraries for it) to make it work.
ARCore Supported NOW
The ARCore is now working with Mi Note 10 Lite!
Not working
I can confirm that arcore isn't working.
1) I enabled AR+ mode in pokémon go but game shows white screen in AR mode.
2) Minecraft Earth AR mode is also not working
Yes, i believe it's coming with miui 12 as said earlier, the claim that ar core is working with mi note 10 lite is false.
That's weird, my one is not working at first, but out of sudden it start to work when I still running at latest MIUI 11 but now i upgraded to MIUI 12.
If I'm not mistaken, here a few things I did.
I reinstall the Google play Services for AR, then restart phone and then it work
Wait is it miui 12 beta? Because i can't update to 12 yet...

No it's stable miui 12. They slowly rollout update. You will eventually get update soon. You can manually check to see if there is any pending update or not.
I can confirm that ARcore is now working fine. I tested using pokémon go, minecraft earth, AR elements app.
I am on stock miui12 global rom and Google play services for AR v1. 20.202550203 Sep 16, 2020 update
