So after rooting with the Kang method the default messaging app doesn't seem to be there and I can't find it anywhere searching in Google. Anyone have it?

stock ok, depends on launcher+phone. if slow, then it will effect also your apps progress

exDialer for phone and contacts, GO SMS Pro for SMS. These are what I use. No idea about mail as I just use the Gmail app.

Tnx, for the mails i wanted to find an app that permit to have a lot of mail account (like hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc) in the same app... Do you know something, guys?
You can search Play Store. You'll find something you like there rather than ask others for suggestions. Try K-9 mail.

Dont you know a mail app where you can configure your account easily?? Otherwise i'll use the default email app, that is like K-9 MAIL...

Is it just my device or does the swipe only work on certain apps like messaging and chrome and xda?
In YouTube or Gmail it doesn't swipe.

I'm running CM 10.1 one of the newer nightlies for my Samsung Galaxy S3 on US Cellular. I cannot receive emojis from anyone but myself. It does not work if they are sent from an iPhone or an Android phone. If anyone has any insight on why this is occurring that would be great because I am clueless.
When I receive a text with an emoji the text spaces out l i k e t h i s and is followed with ?=? or something similar where the emoji is. I've tried goSMS, handcent, and iPhone messaging. I haven't discovered a solution yet and it was happening before when I was on cm10 too.
Maybe your androidemoji.ttf is missing. Check on your system/fonts....

Yes, I have it installed. I can view emojis in all other apps and I can send them. I just cannot receive them from anyone via sms
I can view them system wide, I just cannot receive them from anyone.
Edit: I can receive them when they are sent by mms just not sms
Hi. Can anyone suggest a good alternative for hangouts/gtalk? I still use it a lot as most of my friends are on android and I've seen a couple of apps from the store that says they support gtalk but i prefer to hear some user experience of anyone used those. Thanks

hi,
i'm using im + pro for my Google and icq contacts.
you can always go with non-paid version, which has no chat history backup and few things removed.
I also use im+ best alternative app IMHO.

Thanks. That's the first app that came to mind. Gonna try the free app for a few days to see for myself and go pro if I like it.

use root explorer rename LGmessage.apk and LGmessage.odex both to .bak
Rename mms.apk to LGMessage ( not sure if renaming matters)
reboot and the message app works perfect! quick reply, etc.
DARK THEME for quick reply will not work.
Has this file been modified to work with MMS/Group messaging?

I mean, does it work?
CM's MMS.apk needs to be modified to work with each device's Telephony code, so unless it is pulled from another device that pretty exactly mirrors the LG G2 code, it won't work.

just download 8sms from google play, its basically the cyanogenmod mms.apk with quickreply and all the good stuff. Textra sms it's really good too, I like textra sms more though.

Holy moley. Never knew about 8SMS. All I ever ask for in any SMS program is a Mark As Read from the notification drop down. This is perfect.
This works on the vzw version, although the names are a bit different... LGUSMms.bak and .odex This is great, I hated how little of the conversation you could see with the stock app.

CM mms.apk causing phone to crash
I just installed the mms.apk onto my rooted Nexus 4 and followed installation instructions perfectly, but now the app crashes every time I receive a text. Can someone offer a suggestion how to fix this issue or how to revert back to stock messenger, which doesn't appear to be on the phone anymore (the CM apk replaced it)? I know this isn't the correct forum but I am just hoping someone can help with this. Thanks for the help.
