Hello!
I have rooted chinese Conquest S8 (MTK chip, Droid 5.1) phone in one year. After half year not working proximity sensor, used recalibration soft (Proximity Sensor Reset), reboot, work again... reboot and not working again (Proximity Sensor Reset say after boot: settings loaded... and not loaded). Run again, reboot, working again to first reboot.
This problem 50% be settled.
Big problem: Light sensor reset/calibration not working with any soft.
Light sensor still in 125 lx.
MTK engineering mode (see attachement):
PS Calibration
Infos:
PS: -1
Threshold High: 0
Threshold Low: 0
calculate failed (back button --> engineering mode crashed)
Change threshold menu:
set any number (0-65535) and set button --> "Set threshold failed" popup message
PS Data collection: always still -1
How to write manually good (default) rate in settings file? Which this file (proximity, light sensor information file)?
Factory reset not good method, too much settings loss.
Any method (text edit the configuration file or software automatic repair)??? (Quick Tune-Up Pro not repaired this problem.)
Thanks!

objectives: switch off auto light sensor at preset time every day
edit: updated files.
-fixed missed notif between midnight - morning
-level 0 was not behaving correctly, changed to 1 as minimum (still the same-minimum intensity)
no autolight app is working for me, maybe because I have t-mob version and sensor is behind black color of digitizer. dunno
It's still sensing 0 lumens on total dark or on interior light during day.
At 0 lums, backlight is still on 3rd level, which is burning my eyes off if I want to read some sheet before dozing off for night.
Whttp://forum.xda-developers.com/images/editor/bold.gifhen this would switch hour after dark I never need to touch brightness again.
I made it for kaiser and now, being lazy, just change a little, so there is not a checkbox for auto, but entering value 99 would do it.
But no matter as you would use interface once or twice to set it, then it goes itself every day.
- no memory use, not running in background. done by notifications.

Very interesting thanks!
Ok, I haven't seen a topic on how to get this working, so I decided why not put this up. Mods you can remove this thread if it's already there or move it to the correct section (would help more people If it were in the X10 MP Development forum).
First off I should say I own 3 X10 Mini Pros with nAa's MiniCM7 2.2.0 with his kernel and that's what this guide is for. I have not tested this on any other device!
Auto brightness & keyboard lights work fine without any third party solution. The only problem I have (which happens rarely), is that the kb light doesn't come up after unlocking the phone and locking it right after then unlocking it again using the keyboard. And to fix that, just get the phone in some light to reset the sensor and bam it's working again, so that's no biggie. I think that's just a bug from the ROM itself since it happens on all 3 devices.
To get Auto Brightness working:
1. Goto Settings > Display > Brightness > Enable Automatic Brightness
2. Goto Settings > CyanogenMod Setting > Display > (I have ultra brightness disabled) > Automatic backlight >
Light sensor filter > Disabled
(Important ) Use Custom > Enabled
Edit Other levels:
Code:
Lower Upper Screen Buttons Keyboard
0 3 41 255 255
4 15 81 255 255
16 63 143 255 255
64 249 186 255 255
250 infinity 255 0 0
You can adjust the screen levels to your liking. Ranges 0-3 are in low light situations and 250-infinity is for bright (eg. outdoors) situations. You can also adjust the levels for keyboard to your liking (0 = off, 1-255=on). Leave the values for buttons at 255.
Allow light decrease > Disabled
Alternative:
An alternative to for fixing the keyboard lights (Just the Kb lights only, not auto brightness) is using D4rKn3sSyS' Kfix 2.3.
Just install that, turn the light levels all the way up and bring the light sensitivity all the way down (to the left), then adjust to your liking.
I don't use D4's Kfix since I have everything working fine without it. This is just for others who want to try fixing with a 3rd party solution.

I have the levels for keyboard to just turn on in when is almost in darkness, and not on full (255) and is working flawless. why do you say that mustn't be adjusted?
Please do not quote whole posts. You answered directly to the posts above yours. That is without any sense.
Or do you always repeat all the things your discussion partner said?
@anancr Any value from 1-255 is acceptable to make the lights turn on, what I meant was to not change the value to zero (which will turn the lights off). Hope that clarified it.

Thanks! That worked for me!
Thanks ! Also worked
Thank you, worked for me too!
Hi guys,
I've got problem on my Xperia Go ST27i (with lastest FXP CM10) with the automatic brightness control.
The sensor reports slightly changes from 2 to 3 even in a varying light envirronement. I've got an increasing (to 80-100 max) only when the sensor is exposed to direct sunlight.
> I've got no screen protection or film
I've tried to set different custom levels, but The sensor always go back to a very low value even in a bright envirronement. The backlight becomes always too low again.
This makes backlight dimming very uncomfortable when ambient light changes. The backlight never increase.
>It worked great on my old Xperia Active ST17i on lastest stable FXP CM10 4.1
I've searched for solutions, like trying different apps, but the sensor values are always the same.
I've found that thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445546
I thought maybe I could change the sensor gain/offset/... but in my hw_config.sh file I've got no "# LMU AS3676 Configuration" or "ALS" or whatsoever...
"Sensor Test" app reports light sensor:
Vendor: Sony Mobile
Version: 104
Max range: 900 lx (I manage to reach 100-120 max with a VERY bright direct summer sun exposition)
Can someone tell if it's possible to change the sensor gain value?
Hi,
after replacing the battery of my SGS6 Edge some sensors are not working.
1. Light sensor is not working when the brightness is set to automatic
2. Gyroscope sensor is not working when screen rotates
maybe other sensors are not working properly too.
I already tried to restart the phone but there is no effect.
On the hidden service menu the the light all sensors seems to work.
The light sensor is working 100% - when I cover it, it shows "0 lux"
The Gyroscope Sensor is working too, but what does the "OIS GYRO" mean? The value on X and Y does not change.
It's my business phone with a lot of data and apps. Thats the reason why I still don't try a hard reset.
Is there a solution whithout resetting the phone?
EDIT: Gyroscope seems to work... strange. But light sensor is still not working. Brightness does not change.
i've similar issue with mine, but I don't know if battery was changed before was given to me, I tried many roms nougat and marshmallow based, but the problem persist. with automatic brightness on, if I scroll the bar, it doesn't change anithing, I've to disable the automatism
Hi
after upgrading my A3 with Android 10 (EU Version) by OTA standard upgrade I also have the issue that the display brightness is often reduced to a very low level even if the brightness automatic is set off and manually set to 100% or 90%. Typical case is when putting the phone after short usage in "stand by" via the power button and then pressing the power button again for reactivation and then the display turns on on amuch lower brightness then before.
Normally i can log in and then switch manually the brightness from high to low again to high level which will give full brightness back. But doing this is really anoying and yesterday i recognized that outside with sunglasses on i cannot read or do this procedure because the phone seems to be of/dark.
So is there a fix for this display problem?
Thank you very much!
