I got the same issue. When swiping from home screen to apps it has some choppy animation. Overall it is fast but there are some laggy animations. Using s9+ exynos version. Tried hard reset and same result. Then i tried usual reset and it still lags when swiping up and down just a little bit less. Tried multiple times to wipe cache partition and nothing changed. If you know the solution it would be very helpful.

plz anyone who can help about the lagging speak now lolll thx
Do not wipe or reset the phone without knowing what is causing the problem. Deleting cache means the phone will have to rebuild it, which in itself can cause some lags. You should be more specific about which version of S9+ (SOC, carrier) you have, and where and when the lags occur. If your phone lags from start to finish, then you have a defective sample. If animation seems slow, try changing its speed under developer options. If you are talking about slight hesitation when bring app drawer up or swiping to Bixby page, then welcome to Samsung.
Hi, I have the same problem what I did was turn down the screen resolution(middle) and this worked better but I have a little lag still, when I go home screen from an app. did you solve?
Greetings??
I have the solution
Keep Pressing the turn down volume button and the button that unlock the screen during 10 seconds at the same time and your cellphone will get off then you turn on it. Greetings from Acapulco.

When I unlock the phone there is a noticeable lag before the screen comes on, sometimes for about 4 or 5 seconds. Anyone know what could be causing this?
Phone is not rooted and running everything stock. I have also already tried factory resetting the device amd that didn't help.
Thanks in advance.
Clear your cache, go into settings and sd phone and storage, free more space. That might help the lag. Also loading a boat load of apps on your phone will also slow it down.
still didn't fix it.
Did you download and install a live wallpaper? I've noticed a little lag on certain live wallpapers. Just an idea...
none of those either lol. It has to be an app but I don't know which one.

Hey guys
My Galaxy Tab 10.1 is giving me a hard time since a few weeks.
I run the CM 10.1 nightlies on the device and have the following issue:
The touchscreen does not react to my finger properly. Sometimes it works, but then doesn't react anymore. I then press the power button, to send it into sleep mode, then press it again to wake up. the device reacts then like 99% of the time to unlock it. but after that its just a pain in the a**. As far as I can remember, I did not change the ROM when this happened, but since then I tried dozens of different nightly versions, even ones that I know they worked before.
The strange thing is, that it seems to be dependent on the position sensor, because when the tablet is on a flat surface, and is not moved, it works the best. Not 100% but like 80% of the time. But when I hold it in an upright position, or just in my hands, not flat on a table or something, it reacts to like 5% of my tries...
I have been searching on xda and on google about that problem, the most matching one was a driver issue that occurs after like a minute or when a graphic intense app has loaded. They provided a kernel fix, which just made my tab boot into infinity and never reaches the lock screen. after factory reset it boots again, but the problem still exists.
hope somebody can help, because I love my Tab and I can just not accept the fact that it could be a HW issue, since it works 99% of the time on the logon screen, and due to the fact of the position sensor being involved...
thanks in advance! please make me happy again!
@shr00my
Let me ask you this..Does this problem occur in all apps or just you're browser...?
Also..when you flash a new rom..I assume you wipe data/cache/dalvik cache...but do you go in and format system( only system )...you might have something left over from a bad flash that is causing problems..
Hi Gil81
Thanks for your answer! Yes that happens everywhere, in the android menu, homescreen, inside games, video player etc...
Yes i always wipe the caches and data. But I also tried various combinations with different nightlies and wipe scenarios.
Could you tell me a good different rim that is on android 4.2 and not CM based so I could try to flash that and see what happens.

Looks like the problem is deeper than i thought...
I installed the latest cm10.2 build from the forum here, full wipe cache/dalvik/everything except SD mount, before and after installation.
when coming back to the recovery to install the gapps that I forgot to download, I realized, that i also had issues with the touchscreen in the recovery menu...
I also installed the Kernel (kernel_p4wifi-cm-10.2-20130903-0100-exp.zip) that was provided on the goo.im directory http://goo.im/devs/loosethisskin/p4wifi/cm-10.2
I also experienced some ghost touch issues with the "back" button... Not sure yet if it was because of a specific touching of the frame or an angle of the tabled when lying on my back, holding the tablet in face down. (since I experienced strange behaviour depending on the position sensor)
Hi
I have an unlocked samsung galaxy s4 gt-i19505
Recently after i updated to 4.4.2 kitkat i started having problems. After the phone is not being used for a while, when i press the unlock button the unlock screen appears but the circle with the lock inside it is missing and the phone appears to loose touch i can't unlock the phone or pull down the notification panel. When i press the lock button again the screen goes black and the phone just freezes completely. It doesn't react to the unlock button any more or to the home screen button. I have to take out the battery and then everything is normal again until the phone is left unused for a while again.
I tried reinstalling the firmware again but it didn't help. I didn't factory reset the phone as I don't want to be setting it up again as it takes me a while. Does anyone have similar problems knows how to fix it ?
Thanks.

It sucks to reset, but you gotta do what you gotta do. That is often the first step of troubleshooting as it eliminates lots of other possibilities all at once. Especially if you updated to 4.3 to 4.4.2 without wiping. I know Samsung says it's cool and give OTA updates and all that, but I've worked on dozens and dozens of Samsung devices and they always seem to run best if you factory reset after updating (or downgrading). There are tons of apps that can back up your call logs, texts, apps, contacts, etc that you can use to restore afterwards. Then you just gotta log back into your accounts and set up your home screen. It's annoying, but will probably be quicker than trying to troubleshoot one little thing after another. Just the nature of the beast with stuff like this. It's not Samsung's fault per se, just how software is. It seems to run differently on different phones without much rhyme or reason.

After some minor bug I have decided to master reset my phone after wiping all data and stuff the phone was running cool but since yesterday when I lock the screen 1-2min after the phone freeze and restart after. When I am using it no problem whether is plugged to charge or not.
It’s only reboot or freeze when you lock the screen or stop using the phone

Are you Running a Custom ROM?
If yes you should go into your ROM's thread .
If you are running stock Android , the problem comes from the OEM , you should search for this issue on internet to find someone else who faced this bug and try to know if there's a fix.
On my side , I can't do much because I don't own your device and I never heard about this before
I hope you'll find the answer on the internet
Hi,
I replaced my cracked screen around 6 months ago. The new screen is an FTS-TS type. Everything was smooth and fine until about 6 weeks ago when the phone started randomly freezing. During a freeze, If I press the power button off and on again (not rebooting) it's OK until the next freeze. It does this very many times a day, some days are worse than others. One consistent thing - it will ALWAYS freeze on the lock screen following a reboot, even following a factory reset or using safe-mode.
Recently I noticed that a page of Vietnamese language settings appears when coming from an idle lock screen state to the home screen. It now does this a few times a day. Since my phone is set to English, this is very odd. Even if it was in English, it's very odd a random page of settings opening itself in such a way. I have hardly any of my own apps installed since I've done several resets so there is no app that I could blame for this odd behaviour.
In desperation I wanted to try a custom rom. However, I could not even install another ROM via TWRP since when I got to the TWRP lock screen (after unlocking the bootloader and installing the TWRP image) I could not swipe to unlock it, and power on and off was having no effect! This means I am stuck with the stock rom (MIUI Global 11.0.8 stable) and can't try anything else.
I did try another bootloader and that also froze
At this stage I am assuming the fault is a software issue rather than an hardware issue.
Xiaomi UK have washed their hands of this issue, I don't expect any help from them anyway as it's out of warranty now. They keep repeating themselves by suggesting factory resets, even though I'm blue in the face telling them that that is not resolving the issue.
Any help with this frustrating issue would be very welcome !
