Hello guys,
I have a Note 5 and want to listen to music via my Bose QC 35 II. As these headphones only support SBC, which is quite basic and the slightly better AAC codec, no Aptx streaming is possible. It is sad that the good sounding aptx is not available, so i wanted to get the best out of it and try to listen with the aac codec. Unfortunately, it is only possible to manually change the bluetooth codec in Android Oreo. Is there a way be it an additional app or similar actions to manipulate the bluetooth audio codec even in Android Nougat?
Thanks in advance*
I recently bought a Ugreen CM109 bluetooth transmitter/receiver. This device has aptx codec support. In the Oreo rom on my Swift 2 + I cannot change the codec to Aptx, only AAC an SBC are working.
Is there APTX support on the Wileyfox phones, I also have a Swift but there you can't see what codec is used.
Testing the sound quality on the Ugreen with SBC and AAC makes AAC the winner. I used flac files as original sound. When using Spotify the sound quality degrades more with SBC then with AAC.
Note: Ugreen APTX is working on the S9 of my son.
Any thoughts?
you need to use the magisk module `android O aptx libraries`
Since this is an Android One device and both Qualcomm's aptX & Sony's LDAC bluetooth codec is nativly supported in the AOSP code from Android 8.0 and up, I find it strange as to why LDAC seems to be disabled!
I tried to hook it up to my LDAC supported bluetooth speaker but it reverts to AAC, and I can also chose SBC ofc. Speaker doesn't support aptX but my headphones do and it works fine too.
My guess is that it supports SBC, AAC, aptX only.
I checked the system files and the libs for LDAC is there. I've tried to enable it with build.prop edit, tried different libs, but all without luck.
Why disable something like that? I know that it works fine on Motorola One Power after asking in their telegram group.
Have anyone else tried to enable it on Motorola One?
I'm interested in buying the Tab S6 and using it with a bluetooth DAC. Probably going to pair it up with a ES100 (MK2), Fiio BTR3 or Shanling UP2/4 DAC.
I was just wondering which bluetooth audio codecs are supported by the S6. Could someone enlighten me on this as Samsung doesn't list the specifics on this?
Thanks in advance.
I can say that LDAC is OK wih BTR3.
Today I used aptx low latency with my Fiio BT receiver.
Thanks for the input. So at least aptx ll and ldac are supported. That should be good enough for my needs.
Ok I got some time, lets go through every protocol with the BTR3 and the original control app:
I get the pink flashing APTX and light blue AAC accepted.
No luck with HWA, LDAC and APTX HD sadly, the FIIO app just states SBC instead. And SBC really sounds like crap.
Not sure about aptx LL, this always activates the regular APTX which then gets connected.
Hmm strange because civciv seems to be getting LDAC running with the BTR3.
LDAC is definitely supported. Just be sure to enable it in Fiio BTR3 submenu at system BT settings. The LED turns to white while listening to music.
Thanks for the update. Now to make up my mind about which bt dac to buy .

I have a FiiO BTA10 Bluetooth adapter for ATH-M50x headphones. It's listed as supporting AAC, SBC, aptX, and aptX LL.
On my Tab S6, when I go to Settings -> Developer Options -> Bluetooth Audio Coded, I see it's connected using aptX. I don't see an aptX LL option.
So my question is, how did you get aptX LL to work?

I was able to set it up in the FiiO Music App.
I recently bought a pair of earbuds only to realize mate20 pro does not support APTX.
Launched developer settings, did not find APTX to be available under bluetooth codec when i paired my earbuds.
Can anyone else confirm on this? Emailed huawei, only for them to neither deny or confirm the missing driver. Huawei only mentioned that they will look into the matter.
I have a SHIVR and a SoundPeats bt headset/phone, both working with aptx , no problem under 9.1 or 10. Maybe headset fault?
Hi I have sabbat e12 ultra no problems with aptx
Its using aptX HD if device supports it, and falling back to regular aptX the rest conditions. There's no toggle, its not controllable manually.
