TWRP 3.2.1.0 for Lenovo K8 Note - Lenovo K8 Note ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

Here is the twrp for our device
It is built from source and not ported.
Download the recovery image and install it in using flashboot using "fastboot flash recovery nameofthefile.img"
But make sure you are having adb and fastboot installed with drivers
3.1.1.0 is twrp.img and 3.2.1.0 is recovery.img
Here is the link
TWRP
Guys recovery.img is 3.2.1.0 twrp and twrp.img is 3.1.1.0 but 3.1.1.0 is able to backup oreo firmware and restore it but 3.2.1.0 is giving errors. 3.1.1.0 is more stable than 3.2.1.0 for us, that doesn't mean it can't flash zips the thing is it can't do backups and restore. I would prefer to use 3.1.1.0 for stability.

Flash magisk after formatting internal storage

Thanks bro, but it is not fixed by installing magisk after formatting internal
It has been fixed by following steps as given below
1) I formatted my internel storage in TWRP
2)flashed force decrypt.zip which was given in XDA developers
3)again formatted my internal in twrp, then I rebooted my mobile
4)again I rebooted to TWRP recovery and installed magisk manager

Bro could you please explain the procedure to install it. I've unlocked the bootloader what to do next??

@Niallx
Bro are you asking about (force encrypt.zip )and ( force decrypt.zip) ?
1).Force encrypt.zip will lock your internal storage , then it will show as internal storage 0(ie it will hide internal storage) in twrp after rebooting
2)force decrypt will unlock your internal storage, then it will show internal storage files in twrp (in force encrypt internal storage will be not shown)
To show your internal storage you should flash force decrypt.zip and then you should formate your internal storage in twrp (if you are not doing this your internal storage will be hidden & shown as 0mb )

no command error
When i boot into recovery it shows no command with a laid down android symbol...i used the stabe recocvery ver 3.1.1.0 i.e twrp.img.
Pls help

I have installed Oreo twrp beta.img in my Lenovo k8 note two times successfully. And factory reset device using twrp. Then internal storage is ok. After reboot the system the bootloader is stuck. Device is hard brick.

These instructions are for stock recovery only...
For flashing twrp use these command:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
And then
Code:
fastboot oem reboot-recovery

what about decryption, is it working? i read "format data" or "disable forceencrypt" everywhere, but this is not a fix for decryption, it just removes the encryption. twrp is able to decrypt encrypted userdata, for some devices out of the box with default_password
so anyone successfully used this twrp with encryption? in the other two threads, decryption is mentioned as bug, but not here... does that mean you fixed it?
other question, can someone provide lk.bin + seccfg.bin (unlocked bootloader) would be helpful

[RECOVERY][ROOT] TWRP 3.0.2-1 for Samsung Galaxy SM-J710F

This is TWRP 3.0.2-1 ported from official SM-J700 to SM-J710 using stock kernel (zImage) from SM-J710FN, and it fortunately works (atleast to root this thing).
Disclaimer: Flashing this gon' trip knox & you lose your (device's) warranty.
Built from official SM-J700F recovery
Kernel & Device Tree from SM-J710F 6.0.1
No "SEANDROID ***" red warning
Flash via ODIN & enjoy
TWRP: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533103863141296
Kernel: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533103863141293 (Stock 6.0.1 with disabled dm-verity & encryption)
Note: As per my experiences, it is recommended to flash the Kernel, then recovery, then "FORMAT DATA" (not just wipe) to disable encryption. Otherwise, TWRP will not be able to mount /data.
I flashed this SuperSU in system-less mode & I was rooted with no (visible) issues. Anything else like backing up, I didn't try.
EDIT:
If you want to keep encryption, simply flash recovery & upload SuperSU package via sideload.
EDIT:
Recommended Installation Flow:
Flash TWRP via ODIN
Flash Kernel via ODIN
Reboot to Recovery (TWRP)
Wipe > Format Data > "yes"
Reboot to Recovery (TWRP)
Flash latest SuperSU zip (anything > 2.46)

I, myself have recently met this issue just now. The /data encryption & dm-verity might be causing such issue. Please check updated download links in post to download extracted kernel image from 6.0.1 stock ROM with modifed ramdisk and slightly updated TWRP which now boots fine everytime I try to as of yet.

EDIT
i no longer need them. the cause of boot loop was your kernel. I tried to sideload supersu zip but i still can't get rooted this is because twrp can't access /data partition and supersu requires that in system less root.

TWRP cannot access the /data partition because it is encrypted. I did "FORMAT DATA", then rebooted to recovery via TWRP > Reboot > Recovery. Now the TWRP should be able to mount /data and you could install supersu.

I do understand that it will wipe all the data over the phone. But as per my experiences with S7 & S7E, encryption is enabled by default on Android 6.0 MM. Unless you disable encryption & reformat data, TWRP won't be able to mount /data. The kernel image I posted does not encrypt the /data partition so that you would be able to mount it in TWRP. But after flashing kernel, a FORMAT DATA is required to flush previously encrypted /data. I am sorry, but this is how things seems to work with Android 6.0. Unless TWRP includes support for encrypted partitions, we need to wipe it fully to be able to access it.

Working/Bugs
I have just tested on 16 GB variant and all seems to be working. If something is broken lemme know.
IMPORTANT NOTE :
At first boot twrp will ask for "Swipe to allow modifications for /system" and if you choose to allow it system partition will get modified. So if you choose to reboot back to OS without performing anything in twrp, the OS won't boot (as verity check is enabled in stock OS/kernel) . To avoid this you have to flash either SuperSU or flash any of the verity disabler zips there in xda
Force encryption is enabled by default in stock OS and twrp will successfully decrypt /data at first boot if all goes well
If in case decryption doesn't go fine, twrp will popup a dialog box asking for password and that means decryption went wrong and you would need to wipe data once via twrp wipe options and reboot back to twrp for functioning of /data
Installation Guide
Make sure you have unlocked bootloader

xt1670 model
Hi Santhosh
Will this TWRP work on Moto G5 model xt1670?
If so, can it be rooted using twrp temporary boot?
EDIT: I have tried this several time, I'm always getting stuck at boot, after the first data wipe, only solution is to install stock system again.
I have the Modem Version: M8937_8000.122.02.40R, 32GB
I'm offering to test
Thanks
Works fine for the most part, though reboot options Bootloader and Power Off doesn't work, just restarts normally.

After installing TWRP my Phone stucks at the "Your device has been unlocked" screen. My system seems to be gone. I've downloaded the image from the other thread and tried to sideload it, but twrp says it's in the wrong format. TWRP boots fine
(Anyone who can upload a fully working NANDROID or sth like that?)
What can i do :/?
Edit: Solved. Unzipped the firmware and flashed manually via fastboot. Working fine!
But then again at the startup of the recovery, there's the encryption message. What to wipe now, that it'll work? Wiping /data ends in boot loop...

Did you tried wiping data, and formatting data? Remember that wiping /data is where your apps and settings are stored, and formatting /data/media is the massive storage... Maybe if you wipe both it would work

After
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
I'm booting into recovery, cancel the encryption password verification, swipe to allow modification, wipe & format data -> Bootloop
Flashing system (and only system, not recovery etc) -> Phone boots normally, twrp ist gone ...

[Lineage 15.1] [Lineage Recovery] : Empty /system -> Replace LiRecovery by TWRP ?

Hi guys,
I'm heavy in trouble with my Xperia Z1 tablet since I have flashed LineageOS 15.1 on that tablet by TWRP.
Short version:
The problem:
I was not be able to copy the TWRP to /FOTA partition by TWRP before. Since TWRP was replaced by a LineageOS recovery in the /boot partition and I do not find a way to install TWRP by this Lineage recovery, now I have a device with Lineage recovery only.
Long version
What did I do:
(1) The Lineage 15.1 was working fine for 5 minutes but when I have realized that I forget to install GApps I went to the recovery mode and surprisely the Lineage recovery was started.
(2) Now I did the mistake to wipe the /system and cache using that LineageOS recovery
(3) When I try to reinstall the 'twrp-3.2.3-0-pollux.img' or 'lineage-15.1-20190330-nightly-pollux-signed.zip' by Lineage recovery from SD card, the installation breaks with an error
"E:Unable to open /sideload/package.zip : Tranport endpoint is not connected
E:failed to map file
Installation aborted.".
Conclusion
Now I have a device with empty /FOTA and empty /system partition. The Lineage recovery is the only once I have on my device.
Also I'm wondering that the device is recognized as Android fastboot device from now on when I boot into bootloader.
Does there a way to reanimate my Xperia Z1 or do I have a valueable brick from now on ??
How can I write images to the /boot partition by Lineage recovery?
Thanks for help
Tom
Solved
Hi guys again,
thank you for your valuable support. I was be able to solve this issue by myself using the "fastboot" tool. With fastboot you can download a new fresh TWRP on '/boot' so that I was be ablte to install a new custom ROM.
Thanks
Tom

Sorry, I have Windows 7. The drivers works on my Windows 7. But I guess that the drivers are working on Windows 10 also.

What is vbmeta?
I want to install Elixir Project. Is it necessary to do something from the vbmeta? Or just flashing the rom is enough?

Flash vbmeta is necessary to boot a new system but it's easy to flash too.

I understand that the vbmeta is pulled from original samsung firmware, lz4 format stripped and flashed by AP. Then we implement the command by TWRP and the desired rom is installed.
Is that so?
Does the vbmeta step have to be done every time I put a new rom or only once?
Sorry for my english

I only did once and I didn't use the stock vbmeta I just searched "vbmeta disabled Samsung" it should show up with vbmeta disabled android 11 but works the same on 13 and I didn't use TWRP only fastboot so i don't know how to flash it there.
Btw your English is good don't worry.
After installing TWRP I can't install the fbe. TWRP doesn't recognize my device's internal memory either.

Because you need to flash the fbe_disabler using some usb otg, external sd card or by pushin the zip to /tmp, flash it and then format /data.

My device is a T220.
The touch does not work in TWRP and I use a mouse. I use Micro SD to install the FBE. But when trying to install it gives me an error in the data folder. Although apparently it seems to be installed.
I format data as you indicate and restart in fastboot in TWRP to put the vbmeta by ADB and install a GSI. But it generates bootloop.
I don't know if I'm missing some step.

If you really want to flash a gsi and can't get it to work use a fastboot enabled recovery that's what I did
