How does Twitter retain user data? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to automate twitter usage across multiple accounts, but handle login via restoring session cookies / user data.
Somehow, clearing cache/user data does nothing to log the current user out, and I've been trying to figure out all day where the persisting user data is stored.
As you would expect, "pm clear com.twitter.android" results in everything (except .../lib) in /data/data/com.twitter.android, and corresponding user directories being wiped. I would have thought this would effectively reset the app back the its initial install state, but reopening the app just restores those directories to as they were before clearing and the account remains logged in. But I can't find any backed up data that its restoring from anywhere!
The following files are the only ones I could find with auth tokens that persist after clearing cache & data. But even clearing these does nothing.
/data/system/notification_log.db
/data/system_ce/0/accounts_ce.db
Anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks,
Harry

[Q] Data backup switching to Gingerbread ROM

I'm running veganTAB 5.1.1 at the moment. I've installed a lot of apps, have some documents stored locally, a lot of data in springpad as well as a good number of media files.
I know switching to the ginger edition requires a wiping data. I have titanium back and ran a full backup of apps and data.
What I'd like to know is the best way to go about restoring my apps and app data and whether I'll be deleting any locally saved files when I "wipe data". I guess i'm not clear whether wiping data means wiping everything, like a reformat, or if it means a specific menu option in clockwork.
I'm a bit of a noob at this still. I have reflashed roms a couple of times but at the time I didn't have a lot of stuff to worry about saving and I'm not sure whether I wiped more than I needed to.
A data wipe will erase user installed applications, their associated data, and system data (but not system apps). It will not harm files stored on sdcard or sdcard2.
Does restoring the apps through titaniumbackup work? I seem to recall trying that once and the app didn't work until I uninstalled it and redownloaded from the market. Maybe I did it wrong.
Restoring apps and data should work. Do not restore system data or you will have trouble. It is quite possible that you'll have to reinstall Titanium Backup to make it work correctly. I've had to do that once or twice when changing ROMs.
Smooth and easy, not sure what I was worried about. Thanks.
I just did the same thing and had real good luck with app mybackup, I just backed up the apps and no data and it worked perfect. Gingerbread was very nice roms. But it seemed the more programs you load the longer it takes to boot. At first it booted in a few secs. Then I did my restore of all my apps and it took like 5 min to boot all the time. Not sure what that was about.. But I switched back to TNT.
I have sold my Gtab to a friend and want to keep all my downloaded app's .
I can move them to the SD card and do a data wipe in CWM and it will remove my personal data like passwords and facebook ,, gmail account ?
and still keep my apps ?
Thanks

Bookmarks already in use

Flashed a new ROM. Trying to re-add my previous bookmarks, but i get an error about it already being in use even though I don't have them anywhere in the phone. I've deleted the cache for the internet app, wipe data from BOOKMARKS in titanium and even unchecked the backup google in settings. Any ideas?

contact list problem and possible solution

Lately I had been having a problem with my contacts and messages, that I've seen mentioned on here a few times and I seem to have fixed it on my phone. Btw, I am stock, rooted, TWRP, S-ON. The symptoms I was having were:
20-30 seconds to open text messages
entering names to call/text/email would not auto complete
my "people you may know" screen would come up blank
my "linked contacts" screen would come up blank
I tried clearing cache and data on all the contacts storage apps, and wiping cache and dalvik cache, removing my google account and unsyncing facebook account, then wiping all contacts and resyncing them. None of these helped.
Thinking that possibly there was some kind of corruption in the contact database or app, or that I possibly caused something when I restored texts or contacts with Ti Backup at some point, what I did was create a new Ti Backup of Contacts Storage, and a Nandroid just to be safe, then I used Ti's Extract from Nandroid Backup feature to restore Contacts Storage (app + data) from the very first Nandroid Backup I made after I installed TWRP. I had to relink some contacts but everything seems to be working just fine now. From what I can tell, the app version on Contacts Storage hasn't changed, so I think it's a database or config problem.
Hope this helps someone, or leads someone to find the root cause and fix for those who may not have a good backup to go to. Good luck.
I'll need to try that
Update
I backed up the app in TB, wiped the apps data in TB and then restored the apps data again in TB. It helped with the contacts but the messages were slow to load on a few of the threads.

Contacts, Contats Storage apps missing after flashing new AOKP

I flashed the newest AOKP build (Galaxy Nexus Toro), and was getting the error process.android.process.acore has stopped working error. As found on a thread here, I cleared data for Contacts and Contacts Storage. This appeared to work.
I then attempted to restore the data for those two apps from Titanium Backup Pro. Now, when I attempt to open Dialer, it crashes immediately, and if I go to attempt delete the data for Contacts apps again, they aren't even in the list. They are also not in the list for Titanium Backup's backed up data either, mysteriously.
I've wiped Dalvik and tried re-flashing, but am not sure what to do beyond that. Can I fix this without factory reset and/or losing all data?

Removing the app data permenantly

I read some threads here but could not get any help. I basically want to remove all data related to an app that I uninstalled in Nougat. I used some apps, I went to data folder, deleted some files etc but when I reinstall that app, it shows all my data. Only if I factory reset or wipe cache and data then this does not happen. But I dont want to do that everytime. So any fellow experts here can guide me a perfect solution to this. Where is this app data stored so hidden that I cant trace it and delete it but when app is reinstalled, it traces the path and picks up old data? Thankyou for your help.
any reply??? Please help
