I see the gallery lets me switch between the close-up and wide view shots, for photos shot using live Focus. Is there a way to save both versions easily? All I see is an option called save as a new file but who wants to do that for every live Focus photo you take?
In my old phone I would have Google photos backup all my photos and then use the free up space option in Google photos to delete.
I have kids and take lots of photos and need a easy way to save both the close up and wide shots. Thanks!!
Bump

Try "Picture Folder"
This is best and simple
More along the lines of what I wanted, thanks alot
Are you serious ? On my Mini the pictures are blured (not sharp) on fullscreen view and when viewing with zoom the picture does not load, it is like apliyng digital zoom a small resolution photo. Well, sometimes on some pictures the zoom works and load the full resolution picture but it is slow.
edit: I have found that if i open an album in portrait mode and then turn to landscape mode the pictures are blurier and zoom is not loading 100% resolution photo. Maybe it creates cache for portrait and when turn in landscape mode it uses the same caches(thumbnails at 240x***?) and it looks blurier. For zoom that not work i can't find any excuses.
edit2: It looks like default Album is displaying photos in zoom mode 100% with fewer colors than justpictures. The gradients can be seen. maybe that's why is faster at zooming than justpictures.
floating image
I tried a bunch of photo album apps, and the best in my opinion is Floating Image. You can customize which folders you want (my photos albums are simply organised by folders/sub-folders so it's great for me) and the layout is superb. The only problem I have with it is that you can't zoom when vewing photos but I think it's because X10 mini isn't multi-touch : you have to keep pressing on the photo to bring up a menu and open the photo with the default vewing app and then zoom. Besides that, this app is the best.
I think this thread is posted in the wrong section. This should be in Themes and Apps subforum and not in Android Development
QuickPic is my choice for photos, shows photos in folders (can hide specific folders), very fast thumbnail generation, good quality.
What Do You Want Basicaly?
if You Only Want To hide some folders from default pic album than here is the solution..
create .nomedia file from notepad in your system if you dont know hot to create tell me
than place this file into the folder which you dont want to include in your picture album
all pictures in the folder with this file will not be added in your default picture album when you want to add those pictures delete this file from that folder via any file manager simple it is...
.nomedia is not a solution, because it will also prevent player playing music from these folders. Get Just Pictures for free from the market. It allows you to ignore folders you donĀ“t want to show up.
Fish Bowl Photo Viewer is my favourite viewer. It's fast and easy to use and lets you set the default folder to view.

you can use a file explorer
Hi. I needed to make a photo of a document a few days ago with my phone and then read it. Strangely, I was not able to read a single word because when I zoomed in the photo was blurred. And the font was not small at all. The big surprise came up when I transfered the photo to my computer, and discovered that the text could be read without a problem. So I'm guessing this is a problem of the android built-in gallery?
the gallery does not zoom in to the actual image size. so when you zoom in the photo will be blurred. try viewing the image with a different image viewer. I dont know of any though.
Hi,
Is there a way to enable the date stamp when taking pictures?
Bump
i think the option is not there in the stock camera app
No. You do know the date and time of the photo are saved automatically in the EXIF data don't you? I can never understand why people still permanently engrave photos with that data when the file already has it. (Not necessarily referring to you)
That said, obviously there are some people who have a genuine need to have it recorded onto the image itself for whatever reason. As mentioned the stock app does not have this option. However, there may be an app on the market that can automatically use the EXIF data to record it onto the image. Seems like such an app would be easy to create so I see no reason why it wouldn't exist.
I think the lgcamera app in the market has it.

Date stamp in pictures?
Auto Stamper application can enable and add date and time on the photo. This app allows you to add text to photo with various formats like a style, size, colors, and positions as per picture background.
Auto Stamper is the only app that allows you to use smartphone default camera for capturing photo and add text to it.
Download This amazing app from respective play store and app stores.
Hi. I'm using cyanogenmod 10 for almost 3 weeks . The camera which came with cm10 is showing less field what actually is.
Are the photos it saves a normal field of view? In other words is the problem only with the view in the camera app or is it with the saved photos too

This picture is shown in the gallery. You can see my printer is in view. (left side)
Also you can see the light switch(left side) is in the view
For second picture,
But in this picture you can't see my printer and my light switch.
I didn't move the camera btw just took a screenshot then pressed the capture
Any ideas?
You can't bump a thread more than once every 24 hours
I believe this is done because of the aspect ratio of your screen and the photos your camera takes. If the photo fov were to be used in the camera, there would be black bars in the camera app. You can try using another camera app from the play store to fix this.

I'm sorry. I didn't know that . Do I have to use 3rd party camera apps. Or can developers fix this problem in next updates. And can you advise me a good 3rd party app. Thanks for your help.
Do you have photo stabilization by any chance? That does reduce the fov.
No I don't have photo stabilization.
Try an app in the store called "lg camera" from memory that's the name. It has black bars which is what you want
NO no no this is not that I wanted. Actualy when I take photos with my friends they can't be seen before shooting.so sometimes they seen out of the fov but when I take photos they are in the fov. I don't want black bars or something. I mean I want to take a photo which looks exactly same in the preview.my post which has an attachment will show my problem.
How do I stop the Panorama sweep. I see no stop button. It seems to stop when I move the camera away and it detects a big change but all of my Panorama photos have garbled ends
I personally would not use Sony's panorama sweep. I use google camera for that as it seems to do it better and at higher resolution.
There is not a specific command to stop panning .. as you wrote, you can simply deflect the blow direction and the capture is interrupted, however, it is better if you change at least 90 degrees.
Alternatively use other applications or simply scraps the image too long to where you need them, but they are a bit 'all suggestions obvious
It is quite annoying that I have to go back and crop all of my panorama photos.
I havent found any good third party camera apps. Probably due to the poor Sony camera API
Yes, you're right, it is rather strange that we can not stop with a simple command.
After all is not difficult either stop diverting the direction of stroke.
Unfortunately, the Camera of Sony is not as functional in many things ..
To me, the panorama sweep mode, do not like that GPS data can not display them on G +, unless I change them from the album, and then only after remain visible after ciondivisione ...
Are not the only flaws unfortunately ...
Its even more annoying that since I save all photos to SD card, I cannot edit any of them without first copying them to internal memory. So I can't do a quick crop or rotate
Please be aware that panoramas with sonys app have a really bad resolution.

I'd second this recommendation. I've been pleased with the results from Google Camera much more than Sweep Panorama. It's still not as good as the panos taken from my iPhone, however... sigh.

What program are you using to edit the photos? I save mine on the SD card as well, but I've not had to move them to the internal storage to work with them. I primarily use Lightroom or Photoshop Express to edit the pictures. Both are free.
