You have to have a secondary lock along with biometrics. There's no way around that.
Also, in the same vein, there's no way to disable the requirement for a PIN/Pattern/Password the first time you unlock the phone after a reboot. It's that other lock which provides access to the secure area that grants authorization to check for matching fingerprint data.

I found this app in the Samsung GS2 forum.
From what I understand this app is also available through the android market. I am not taking credit in anyway for the development of this app just liked it and decided to post it here for us too use.

Thanks for sharing, this is great. But one gripe, it puts an icon in the notification bar and of you drop it down and select it, it takes you to the setting so anyone can change the settings.

If you turn off the lock notification, you cant launch the app from the pulldown.

Thank you, that works! Also in the setting you can check off the app also so if you try opening the app itself, it is also protected..I should have thought of that lol.

It works its just that my brother and mom can get in with no problem. Haha I'll test it out on some friends to see if its worth keeping.
thanks alot cool app works great on my 3vo
I have tried it with a few friends it kept them out. Not saying its perfect but you can also try raising the security level to high. Just makes sure you take a variety of test pics in different lighting for the best results

I found a flaw though. On sense 3.0 if the application you have locked is on your lock screen, it somehow opens the app anyways, therefore this app is useless.

Are you sure the app was running? I just tried my lockscreen and it locked it for me. Make sure you have the notification on and that the icon is in your notification bar, so can make sure the app is running. Something else you can try, there is a setting that allows you change whether or not you have to constantly unlock it or unlock one app and it stays unlocked

Can this be used as a lock screen? Is there a setting I may have missed?

you can turn the setting off where it stops prompting to Face Rec every time you turn off the screen and open the app.
I cant wait for it to be used in conjunction with the lockscreen/unlocking the phone...
It makes me feel like im somebody off of mission impossible or something...

I figured out a workaround...
Install "Agile Lock" (free on Market, and a Sense 3.0 lockscreen that's meant for AOSP ROMS normally) https://market.android.com/details?id=com.nanoha.SenseScreen
and set the app to activate when used...
Profit.

I set this to lock golauncher, which works well as phone wont launch after unlocking it until face verified. UNLESS, you slide an app to the lockring, then it bypasses it and I think crashes visidon, becuse i then have to open the app and back out to make it work again. Would be a sweet app if this was fixed.

Hello I was hoping someone would be able to make a transparent pattern lockscreen for me. I don't want to be able to see the dots at all I want it completely transparent
also I am using twisedumbrella's aosp rom
Sounds like a terrible idea to me. If you mess up that pattern lock enough times it will completely lock your phone down. At least that's what I thought.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
well I use the same password and pattern lock so i'm so used to the location of the buttons that it wouldn't be a problem. plus if you can't get in you can unlock it with your gmail

You can download an app in the playstore that removes the the pattern feedback that you're drawing to unlock your phone.
Basically, all it shows is dots.

I prefer the dots so that I don't mess up the pattern. Lol. Mine is kinda complicated, even with the dots.
(Always remember to wipe your screen off so you leave no prints. I enjoy unlocking my friends phones for fun and watch them freak out on how I knew their patterns) Ha.

Yeah the dots are very helpful but I think I would look really cool if you could just draw your pattern on a blank screen and have it unlock
I was wondering if there is a mod that allows you to tap the home button instead of pressing it. similar to virtual home jailbreak mod for iphone found here:
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/01/01/virtual-home-an-amazing-touch-id-jailbreak-tweak/
Want it too maybe no for now but will possible in the future!

Here we are guys! Finally there is an app which allow to tap the home button instead of pressing it! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.easyhome
Yes its quite similar to the tap to unlock feature found on the new nexus phones. But the downside to this app is that this doesnt work if u r using fingerprint unlock, which i use all the time.
+1. i am using fingerprint unlock too
Same, giving up the fingerprint unlock is something I don't want to do...
Use this app. Pretty accurate for me,don't know why people gave it low rating.

I use Nova Prime and use Gesture settings to make it work.
Ok I wasn't sure if the prime features would make it work or not. Thanks

Are you double tapping on the status of navigation bar? Or anywhere on the screen.
It has always worked when using the status of navigation bar. Supposedly MM has restrictions that keep other apps from locking the screen and then unlocking with a fingerprint.
I just tried it on my phone again and it is the same behavior as it has been. If you can double tap anywhere on the screen, please provide more details on the setup.

Just tested with Nova Prime. Turned on double tap to lock, gave Admin rights, found the same as you.
Can't unlock with fingerprint after Nova has locked the screen.
Double tapping on status bar to lock allows to unlock with fingerprint though.
I use the Google Now launcher & the double tap to wake works & double tap to sleep works from the lock screen only. THe fingerprint sensor also works to unlock.
Arrow Launcher has double tap to sleep.

I know what you are talking about. If you use the Nova function to turn off the screen, then the finger print will not be possible. I have found a solution but you have to be rooted : download screenoff on xda, and use it when you double tap.

Through some testing, I've found that if you double tap to sleep, fingerprint will not unlock or wake the phone. But, if you sleep the phone with the rear button, the fingerprint reader will work to unlock the phone. It took me a minute to figure this out because I have trusted devices and locations set up, so I really don't use the fingerprint to unlock the phone that much.
Of course, I'm talking about using Nova Launcher
Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
I guess that's kinda what was said above me. . Oops
I can confirm that double tapping the status bar to sleep allows fingerprint unlock. But using Novas screen lock feature disables the fingerprint unlock.

I use Apex launcher and for the double tap to lock to work I use the app 'Lock Screen Setting'. This combination allows me to double tap on any empty space on my homescreen to lock the phone.
I normally don't use fingerprint to unlock, but I just tried enabling it, and it seems to work the same way as described with Nova Launcher. When I lock the phone by double tapping the notification bar it can unlock fine with fingerprint, but when locking the phone by double tapping the homescreen, I just get a message 'unable to use fingerprint' and I have to unlock by pin.
I think Nova launcher is the best one out there!
Hi
Just tried to do a search but XDA app keeps crashing.
How do you Setup Smart Lock?
When I Open the Feature in Settings all I get is what's in the screenshots below, no settings or anything else.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Disable Trusted agents in settings (use search) and reboot phone. After that, enable Trusted agents.
