I'm experiencing call drops on a regular basis. this only happens during bluetooth calls. I've got great reception and call quality otherwise. But during a conversation, it will drop after about 5 minutes. I connect to either a headset or my car stereo and it's the same scenario. When using wired headphones , holding up to my ear or speaker phone I can stay connected indefinitely. Any solution?
Thanks,
I'm rooted fyi.

Hey everyone,
Has anyone noticed bluetooth issues? I've pointed them out in other threads, but they seem to be glossed over. I hate to seem like a noob by creating new threads, but I fear that the issue is being looked over by most people. I've read a few reports of people having issues with their phones connecting to their cars or headsets automatically. Has anyone else faced these issues?
I specifically cannot get my BT headset to connect unless I unpair and repair it everytime I want to use it. Sometimes even during a phone call the headset will drop connection and wont reconnect unless i turn it off and on a few times. For reference, I've tried multiple BT headsets and they all behave the same way. These headset's also work just fine with my Galaxy S2, just not with my S3 (international on XLE8)
No problems with bluetooth here and I use it a lot (HS3000, Logitech Boombox, PS3 and Wii controllers too).
No issues here. Phone sometimes doesn't pair automatically with the BT kit in my work car, but I've had that issue with my S1 and S2 in the same car so I'd say it's a problem with the headunit.
Works perfectly with the Sony headunit in my own car, and connects to my mate's fine.
ok, what firmware rev are you guys running? im going nuts not being able to use bluetooth here!!
somewhat related.
i often leave my sgs3 connected to my laptop via usb when i fall asleep. at morning, battery's charged 100% obviously and phone isn't hot.
last time around, i was listening to music via hm3700 bluetooth headset. then later turned off the bluetooth headset. i forgot to turn off the bluetooth on sgs3 and again fell asleep while it's still connected via usb to laptop.
when i woke up at morning as usual battery's charged 100% but the sgs3 was hot, not so hot but isn't anywhere the normal hot we're accustomed to.
connects automatically to my car's BT built-in system. Only needed to pair once.
Works very well with my Sennheiser PXC 310 BT.
If I switch on the headphones the phone automatically connects to it.
can everyone please detail their firmware/kernel they are using?
i am on XXALE8, with the stock kernel
I have problems on XXLE8 as well connect it to my car head unit and it acrually crashes the headunit after 5 mins being connected . After the heaf unit crashes 3 times it requires a pin code. Iphone 4, 4s and gs2 connect no issues.

thanks for your input, i upgraded to XALF5 and still having the same issues. this is frustrating!!!!
Oddly - my phone will automatically connect to my cars in-built BT system, but it won't auto connect to my Jawbone Era without switching BT of and back on....
I also have problems, with my build-in bt in my car. Have XXBLH3. Connect fine, but drop the connection 2-3min after. My SGSII have no problems
No Ringtone through Bluetooth
Okay here is my problem……I want my custom ringtones i have set for contact to play in my Bluetooth headset when a receive a call, not that dumb ring. That way I will know if I want to take the call or not because I can tell by the ringtone who is calling. Why would Samsung disable this feature. my iPhone 4s plays the ringtone I have setup when I get a call. Is there anyway to do this. I ride a motorcycle and I have a device called a Chatterbox that let’s me connect via Bluetooth to my phone so I can hear my music and talk and make calls while I am riding. On my iPhone 4s my music would pause my custom ringtone would play and I could decide it I wanted to take the call or send it to voicemail, then my music would start right back up from where it left off. Right now my Galaxy i717 and my Galaxy i747 (Note and S III) just play this annoying ring and I can’t tell who it is! Any have a fix or work around for this.
Hmmm, the sound on my cars bluetooth gets distorted and only a reconnect will fix, and more worringly sometimes the S3 will not wake up after disconnecting from my car and only a hard reset will solve it.
My S2 did pretty much the same thing.
Hello all NOTE 3 users!
I would like to ask You about Your Bluetooth headsets experience with NOTE 3.
I started to use BT headsets more than 5 years ago (several types, Nokia, Motorola, SE, recently SonyEricsson MW600 and Sony MW1) and used it without any problems with Note1 and Note2, however with N9005 (stock rom XXUBMJ1) and currently Sony MW1 headset I am completely disappointed:
1. Headset disconnects by itself few times per week, does not want to restart the link by pressing "Answer" button until BT goes through ON/OFF
2. With BT headset connected - a few times per day - incoming calls, and outgoing calls starts without BT headset voice link active (even if BT headset is "connected"- in some cases during the call to start the voice link call bottom-right button on the note3 must be touched 3 times to in fact "activate" the headset voice link... => this should be ALLWAYS working!
3. SONY suggests Smart Connect (LiveWare) + Smart Wireless Headset Pro - problem exists with the software installed, I am testing it now without this software but with similar bad results so far...
Please post Your opinions and BT headsets types paired with NOTE3...

I'm using a LG HBS-700 with my N3, and have had no issues what-so-ever.
SONY MW1 does not perform well!
Hello, I am continuing tests - NOTE3 + SONY MW1 (most current firmware 0.1.E.1.6) with all software installed is not stable, but without Smart Connect (LiveWare) + Smart Wireless Headset Pro software....it is a Total Disappointment! SONY "Premium" headset stays connected with NOTE3, however almost each phone call - incoming or outgoing
does not activate the voice-over-BT audio (phone bottom-right software button on the call screen remains gray, so the phone speaker is active, even if You answer the phone call by pressing ANSWER button on the MW1 headset) - it seems that BT connection between NOTE3 and MW1 becomes "lazy" few minutes after the phone call end, and then does not start again until phone soft key is pressed, or phone call is dropped and another call attempt is made.
If any SONY development guys are reading- please test it.
I have used MW1 with Note2 - it was not very bad, however much less stable than MW600 which was truly PERFECT.
With NOTE3 this is much less stable with software, and without Smart Connect (LiveWare) + Smart Wireless Headset Pro it does not work at all.
I will write to SONY support soon
i tested my MW1 with Note3 at a Samsung retail shop and indeed I am very unhappy with the audio quality. the audii cracking a lot
Motorola Boom
Using this now after testing the Motorola Sliver II. The Boom is about half the price and the sound is the best I have heard in quite some time.
I use it all day for work and have had about 20 different models but for the price, the sound clarity and loudness make this a great choice.
The Sliver had issues where everyone talking to me said I sounded as if I was in a tunnel.
Try the Boom. You'll see!
I haven't had any problems with my Motorola HX550, in fact it has been a great BT headset for $40 dollars. No one has a problem with how I sound.
I have been using my Plantronics voyager legend with great results. For stereo music, I've had decent luck with the Plantronics backbeat 2. decent audio. I'm glad I checked this before getting and mw1 as I as about to pull the trigger on this to use with my klipsch headphones. Has anyone heard about the sbh52 from Sony yet or the mw600 with the GN3?
Heres the ones i use.. http://www.jaybirdgear.com/bluebuds-x-bluetooth-headphones/
been using a motorola Elite flip, no problems whatsoever.
No problems here with Sony hbh-52 and offcourse I have installed Sony software.

I'm using Jaybird Bluebuds X. They're perfect, very good sound quality, you can use them nearly 7 to 8 hours with one charging.

The best choice is to take the headphones with APT-x codec:
exemple Denon AH-W200

I use the Samsung HS3000 and get good results given the low price of this headset.

I agree with this completely. I had to change the ear pieces but now they are perfect.

MW1 still does not work - no support from SONY
Hello, I tried to obtain answer regarding firmware upgrade through SONY Xperia care support forum - outcome is ZERO reaction from SONY so users - beware of MW1 - for those interested - link below.

I came back to MW600 and those headphones work with NOTE3 well.
Sony smart watch 2 seems to have some problems too - a lot of post regarding problems on the same support forum.
Plantronics Voyager Pro HD
Plantronics Voyager Pro HD:
Supposedly 6 Hours of talk time, I would say I've experienced less.
It knows when it's on your ear, but I don't quite know what this function really does because it still works even when off my ear.. sooo
Ear buds don't really suit me, it seems to mount alright on my ear but could seal on my ear better.
This really worked great for me at first on my Note 2.
I don't know if it's the headset because I didn't have issues with my LG G2 or Note 3 however, it seemed to pick up the mic very poorly. People weren't able to hear me well and I need to practically shout for them to hear me.
When I use my car's Bluetooth it doesn't seem to have any issues. It sorta cut in & out on my G2 though now that I remember.
Anyways anyone else happen to have the same headset?

My jaybird freedoms work good.
I use several bluetooth headset currently.
Jaybird Bluebuds X as my main bluetooth headset for music and vidoes and it's working flawlessly. Fantastic audio quality and loudness more than I can handle.
Jabra BT620s when I am home since it's more comfortable than bluebuds.
Jabra BT8040 most of the time and it is connected with my galaxy gear. This combo works really well. Clear call quality, good connection and perfect set up for me with my daily routine when I don't need to listen to music or watch videos.
I have some high-end in ear monitors with a usb-c dac and having issues during phone calls. I can play music just fine and adjust volume but as soon as I tried to make a phone call and it doesn't play through the headphones plugged into the USB-c port. Worked fine on pixel 2 xl and on a oneplus 6. On the oneplus 6 I tried, had to turn on OTG but cant seem to find then in the settings on the s9+. Tried changing the usb settings to audio and that didn't help either. Anyone running usb-c headphones on the s9+ and seeing similar issues?
No uses usb-c headphones I guess

I have this issue and it is absolutely infuriating. Same here, before I bought this phone I used a USB Microphone (audio-technica) to wired headphone for work calls. Never had to strain to hear the other person, and I used to get compliments about how clear I sounded. Now, back to struggling to have a conversation, people talking over other people, etc., especially on conference calls. People who have not used a set up like ours will not know what we are talking about, but once you use a setup like this for calls, it is really painful to go back to anything else
I use my usb-c setup for mostly listening to hi-res music, it's annoying when I get a phone call and I have to disconnect my USB-c headphones to answer the call. Seriously Samsung needs to get there head out of the ass and fix this problem. How can every other flagship phone handle this including the OnePlus 6.

I just ran into this today too (Galaxy S9+ and Logitech USB Headset H390), what a pisser!
