Help with build.prop - no SIM recognized - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
so I have a problem with a Huawei P10 Lite. Basically I had a fully functional build of this ROM (https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8...m-lineageos-14-1-huawei-p8-lite-2017-t3649292) that I had prepared for my new mobile contract. Everything was working fine but when I put my new card in, nothing I could do would get the phone to recognize that a SIM card was in my phone. My card works fine in other phones, I tried other cards and multiple cards in my phone (while enabling the dual SIM option) and all combinations of SIM slot 1 or 2.
Someone recommended that I edit my build.prop file with:
ro.config.client_number=1
ro.config.modem_number=1
My build.prop has no lines of code like this, I have attached it as well. If someone could tell me where I am supposed to add this code, I would be very grateful.
Thank you.

SIM Toolkit

Any update on HTC's SIM Manager Version 1.39? My SIM has built-in Toolkit 2.0 and unfortunately xda doesn't seem to have any option for running SIM Toolkit.
Wish anybody could help.
Thanks.
Hi,
Try O2_NL version 3.15.15.
tool kit
i have just upgraded my xda to the new 64mb and its got the sim tool kit which doesent do anything what is it supposed to do ??? :?:
Your SIM card must support SIM toolkit and if does there is a very simple
application in Program files.
btw
Where did you get 64MB upgrade? :?:
i have been with o2 select for a long time and i told them mine wasnt working so they replaced it
Does anyone know what the Sim Toolkit does? I can click on mine as many times as i want and it does nothing.
I'm on O2 UK
SIM toolkit is basically an application which handles small programs located on your SIM card. Usually it is a menu driven application, which prepares special SMSs, so you don’t need to bother with codes. I use it for banking, so I can transfer money, check balances etc. It is very useful, but you only need the SIM Toolkit if your SIM card supports it…
Ahhh
I see
So my sim probably dosn't support the sim toolkit.
Thanks
sim tool kit
sim tool kit is a program for those with
vodafone sim2.
tab on sim tool kit will let you to Vodafone:
My Account
Entertain Me
Be Informed
Personalise
Send Email
So you can do what is above. quite Cool.

software alterative ?
Well,
(and please tell me if I am wrong) the problem is in a application which is distributed together with MS windows mobile.
Dont tell me nobody else developed such an application ?? at least because of such a bunch of problems coming with this really unperfect one ?
T.H.
Try this
but SIM Manager (windows/simupload.exe) is working...just delete/replace the original shortcut from windows/start menu/programs...

i'm guessing, coz user ncruz (portugal)has made it working under wm5 and worked for portugese users

If neither of those in that topic works, think that u have to find a stk from a universal witch correspondents with your own country to make it working.(maybe a wm3se stk of blueangel/himalaya will work to, did not try it)
a stk is country specific if i'm right.

[ROM]Android 2.2.2 S7v100R001C98B021

Thanks to our friends in Indonesia, we have the updated 2.2.2 Rom --> odienas and tri_zet
This update has been confirmed to work with:
S7-103, Indonesian version with dual cameras internal/external sdcard
S7-104, US BestBuy/RadioShack version with dual cameras and internal/external sdcard
S7-105, Australian version with dual cameras and external sdcard
Partially working:
S7-101, Austria Mobilkom version - loses camera, GPS?
S7-103, New Zealand - loses GPS?

MD5 checksum for updata.app : 74D031FD717D8BF68956EF3F044C8EEB
Update install process:
1. unrar the file, and copy the 'dload' folder to the root directory of a sufficiently large external SDcard formatted to FAT/FAT32 (readable by the S7)
2. turn off the unit, and ensure that you are either plugged in with a battery inside the unit, or that you have enough charge left in your battery
3. turn on, and a progress bar will appear in the middle of the screen. Wait until "OK" is displayed on the screen.
4. turn off the unit by removing the battery and any powerplugs to the S7
5. repeat steps 2,3,4 again. otherwise it will hang at boot screen (instructed by Huawei)
6. Remove the SD card and start the device. If you wish the use the card for the device, remove the firmware files from the SD card before reinserting it.
If the update fails to install, check that your file was properly moved into the SDcard by comparing the MD5 checksum.
The overall process should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

Thanks!! good job
what's new?
Any idea if this will work with the Telstra T-Touch Tab (Australia)? I'm told on other threads it's identical to the Ideos S7 except without any memorycard soldered onto the board. - and it seems possibly this only has agps too.
What is the latest available offical firmware? Im using S7 bought from Orange PL and mine ver is S7v100R001C98B022-is this the newest one?
Which do you think is the best out of your own experience?

Dual SIM phone with SEEK patched android

I'm new here so please bear with me.
long story short, I'm in need of a dual-SIM NFC phone that I can build a SEEK patched android for it.
So far I've done the patching for GS3, mostly with the help of usmile blog, then since we can't put our applet in real SIM card, made a fake UICC from a java card so that it was recognized by phone RIL driver (`libsec-ril.so`) as a valid SIM and granted access to it.
So till now, there is a phone (GS3) that we can put our java card in it and exchange APDUs. next goal is to do the same for a dual SIM so that it can have a real SIM and a java card simultaneously.
what follows is my questions:
1. Is there any successful android build for dual-SIM NFC phone? (maybe from cyanogenmod ?)
2. If there is not, is it possible to do so e.g. for Xperia E3 dual or GS3 Neo?
3. What should be done to make Android work on a dual SIM phone?
Thanks

SD Card + 2 sim hack Bypass solution

Greeting
I've a problem in my Note 9 device
Not allowing to USE 2 SIM card + SD Card hack
it works fine but an error/blocking message from Samsung "There seems to be something in your SIM card tray slot that doesn't belong there, Check it and try again"
Any solutions ?
Tweaks: bypass MicroSD/Sim2 tray lock
So as most of you know, in latest Oreo firmwares Samsung added a check to prevent using both Sim2/MicroSD at same time in one slot (screenshot in attachments), fortunately this lock is pretty much easy to bypass, do this:
Decompile services.jar, open /com/android/server/StorageManagerService.smali class and in it search for isSimSdBlock() method. It should look like this:
Once you found it, all you have to do is to make sure the method always returns false, so basically all you need to do is to replace the whole method code inside to match this:
Code:
Recompile services.jar, push it on your device, profit
Credits to @corsicanu for the finding, don't forget to credit him if you're gonna use this little tweak on your project
Only solution i found but don't understand what is serviecs.jar where i can find it in my phone
