(Solved) Zenfone 4 ZE544KL (2017) back to stock rom ? stuck in twrp - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, wanting to root my new zenfone I messed up a bit in the bytes.
The situation I'm in now is that system and boot is kinda messed up, the only way to boot into system or recovery is trough fastboot.
The phone is rooted but no wifi and not proper booting (meaning when I boot normally or ">adb reboot recovery",
I'd be stuck in unlocked bootloader message screen and getting fastboot text on top of it after 5 seconds (yea), as opposed to properly boot into whatever I told it to those 5 seconds passed.
but as I said, I can go to fastboot mode and boot from there into recovery or system (fastboot reboot).
Now the thing is, through TWRP when I try to install stock rom, it will fail saying "Failed to mount '/system' (Structure need cleaning).
I'm out of ideas.
What I wan't to do is go back to stock rom(or custom if there is one) basically get the phone to normal working state and retry to get root access properly after understanding it better... this time.
Edit/Solution : Got everything back to stock + root
What I did is that I extracted a stock system.img with UR-Tool Prime v1, from WW-14.1060.1708.70 stock ROM that I got from asus support page. (after flashing system, wifi worked again)
I also took the boot.img that comes along with the zip.
And finally, got stock recovery back by applying "Full Unroot" option from within SuperSu app.
So once you have extracted your system.img from system.new.dat, do the following:
1 - flash boot.img
2 - flash system.img
3 - if you need to, do full unroot option in SuperSu settings
Don't forget to back everything up.
I used Magisk v16 to get root access.

Cannot boot Up to bootloader

I have a honor 8, I did install lineage but something happened and got into bootloop and did use my twrp backup that installed stock system without my apps etc. I do have a kernel that gives me root access (SuperSU) tried to uninstall with the in app root remove but it failed when I did check stock boot.img. so I extracted the boot, vendor och system from update.app and installed it with twrp, but the boot.img gave me a bootloop so I used my SuperSU boot.img and it boot. Did try to force update with a dload folder but it didn't work only came to 5% and did try like 10 different versions. After that did I download flashify and flashed stock recovery.img but couldn't boot up to it it whent to erecovery. Did also try to boot into bootloader but it just booted up to twrp (did installed it again). How can i get back to completely stock? And does I have a bootloader? Also have a decrypted the /data partition for the custome rom

LeEco Le2 automatically locked OEM while flashing faulty stock ROM

I have a LeEco Le2, Indian version, and I installed a custom ROM (AospExtended with android 8) successfully after following all the recommended procedures like OEM unlock, TWRP flash, backup with TWRP, etc. But due to some cdla issues, i decided to revert back to stock EUI. So when I tried to restore the backup, it failed saying 'cannot mount /system - invalid argument'. So I didn't had any option other than to stay on android 8's ROM. Later I found some stock EUI ROMs available on XDA and other forums (which needed to be installed through stock recovery's update.zip method), so I gave them a try. But most of them failed. Installation completed without giving any error, but the EUI never boots up, it gets stuck at the bootup splash screen and never goes any further even after 2-3 hours. So in my last attempt, I transferred the update.zip file in the root, then flashed stock recovery and installed. Like before, the installation completed without any error messages, but no bootup to EUI. Finally when I tried to flash TWRP to flash custom ROM again, everything failed and I discovered that the bootloader got automatically locked. Now I am stuck and not able to do anything, fastboot oem unlock-go fails saying 'remote: oem unlock is not allowed'. What can I do to either make the EUI work, or unlock the bootloader. ?

Cant get any TWRP working

I had RNE-L21C185 with Stock Oreo updated
Then flashed Mofruz latest rom working fine, but then I tried to install Stock recovery, I was not able to do so
as it would show error with partition etc. Then tried to install the same TWRP from Morfuz ROM back again.
In fastboot mode I already have PHONE Unlocked and FRP Unlocked messages
So either Morfuz ROM TWRP or any other TWRP recovery, show properly completion of flash command
But when tried to boot into recovery it goes in a loop (the loop shows phenom image, then shows the default
screen that is shown before launching of recovery), then restarts again, and it goes on loop.
So I dont know why I cannot get to load into any of TWRP I have.
The ROM is working fine, if I properly shutdown mobile and start it again, it boots to the phone and
I can use my phone as normal.
Any help guys ?

Tried to use fastboot command to flash official stock Kernal and ramdisk (Oreo version) phone got no OS after it as
it will go on bootloop, now even the forced download (dload folder) method wont work, factory data reset wont work
(both of above will show EMUI circle with no processing or text whatsoever)
At this stage, flashed Catuva recovery from Morfuz ROM again, and it worked

REDMI NOTE 4X MTK / Issu with trying to flash TWRP

Hello everyone,
I have a redmi note 4X with MTK soc
The bootloader is unlocked.
I want to flash TWRP recovery. I use adb, the "nickel " TWRP, and message in the cmd window was "ok"
but when i reboot, whatever the way (buttons or adb reboot), it still reboot on the stock recovery.
I've tryed many times, even with a "moly" TWRP (with my MI 4S, the "aqua" didn't work and I had to flash the "libra" one and it was all effective)
Tryed to re install adb, etc. Wathever, it's always "ok" in adb but still reboot on the stock recovery.
Can't try with flashtool or that kind of (Mitool Flash atc) because I can't find the right "scatter" files....
Does anyone have a clue? what is blocking?
Thanks for help
You must reboot back to recovery, not to system, after installing TWRP.
1. Install TWRP
2. Reboot to Recovery (not to system) - this means you will see TWRP screen again
3. Now you can reboot to System
This is only done for the first time installing TWRP. Next time, TWRP will always be there.
Hello,
Well please I need new help !!
Now I'm fighting a new issu !! Now that I at last managed to flash TWRP, and enter in this custom recovery, my phone don't boot system anymore !! stay stuck on the MI logo (
Do I need to flash the boot.img ? But why the hell would a recovery flashing would have change the boot partition??
And if so, where please could I find the boot.img for MIUI 10.1 stable?
Hello,
For those who have the same issu.
I've flashed a boot.img file found in unzipped miui rom zip.
- download from xiaomi.eu the right rom
- unzip
- find the boot.img file
- flash it with adb / fastboot
Well, So now I have my phone and datas back, and can boot on a custom recovery; but TWRP don't work well. Doesn"t keep the settings, can't install anything (it doesn't find any file when exploring ) and can't wipe cache (as if it can't read partition). That's all I tryed by now, I despair a little and that's a lot of time for an easy thing (was very easy on other phones)
Well, this time I'm flooded, i' ll take somme time but don't give up trying to root that phone
Start again, and I recommend ZCX-TWRP-3.0.2-X-REDMI_NOTE4-MTK_Nikel-16.11.18.img and Magisk instead of SuperSU

Phone doesn't boot to Android. (Stuck in recovery)

So my phone doesn't boot to Android anymore.
(Huawei Y560-L01)
A while back I tried flashing a custom ROM but it failed and I couldn't get past recovery mode anymore.
Today I tried to get back to Android but no succes.
What I tried:
- Flashing a ROM (Stock/Recovery) using adb/fastboot.
- Downloading a "update.app" file of the stock firmware and flash it from the recovery (with an sd-card).
- Hard reset / wipe everything and reboot.
adb isn't able to detect my device because USB-Debugging is disabled and there is no way (as far as I know) to get it back into debugging/OEM-unlock mode. (Can't boot past recovery mode and bootloader is locked)
The update.app file I found doesn't work.
I'd love to get my old phone to work again. Any solutions to my problem?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Is Android still installed or is the OS wiped, I'm not sure?
