Hi, just wondering is it possible for a LS998 model to flash US998 KDZ? What steps should I take? Is there a baseband issue leading to network connectivity? And what about VS996 flashing other KDZs? Is there a flashable list of KDZs? Thanks.
Seems nobody has done any cross-model flashing.
However in China when you buy LS998 model, you'll get one with either an AS998 or US998 system. The same goes with VS996. However, it appears a little tricky to flash back to the original VS996 system using LGUP, let alone LS998 since the firmware for LS998 has not been relaeased yet.

With LGUP, update is one of the main choices. How does it NOT show up for you? But to do this cross flash, it's NOT update you want. It's the other choices you get with the dev version/patched version of this utility.
Regular LGUP

Why not get the "open market" LG V30 US998, which has CDMA? It's the official carrier unlocked model for North America which will also get bootloader unlock, root, ROMs, etc -- just like the European models. That's the one you want.

And no, not the U.S. Cellular model, I'm talking about the official carrier unlocked model US998. I always have to say that, or someone will ask if that's the U.S. Cellular model. The North America open market model US998 is sold by authorized retailers, not by carriers. Which is why it's important you buy it new and not on eBay or Swappa. The only difference is the IMEI on the "open market" models, which will be eligible for LG Developer bootloader unlock.
On carrier unlocked models like this you will need to have an already activated Verizon SIM card to put into it. Someone said Verizon doesn't require that anymore, but another person just ran into that issue a couple of days ago. (Depends on what kind of Verizon plan you have, apparently.)

No, only North American models include CDMA. The hardware is not there. Get an US unlocked one ( see previous post).
Thank you guys so much for the help. I'm sure another person will find this useful. Happy modding guys.
LGV30 cant be unlocked,No problem with the computer driver
faatboot flash unlock unlock.bin
target didnt repart max-download-size
sending"unlock"(1KB)...
:crying:
hi, i know "... No problem with the computer driver..."
But please try on other computer and also with other fastboot.exe file or install other adb/fastboot drivers again.
( you mark " OEM unlock " option in developer menu ? )
Which phone? Which version of software are you on?
Try another computer without the lg drivers installed.

1) You don't say which variant you have. H930, US998, etc.
2) You don't say what FIRMWARE you are using. If Oreo, what version: 20D, 20F, etc. The most recent versions have the bootloader unlock exploit patched, but usually gives you a different error message. Still we need to know what software version you are on.
3) If you've read the WTF guide, I include several trouble shooting tips. That link takes you to a standalone post where I repeated them, but they're also in the guide itself. Please report back when you've tried those?
4) Why open a new thread when you can ask the same question in WTF bootloader/root thread -- the thread dedicated to what you are trying to do? If that's what you're using, and not using official LG bootloader unlock code? Even if you are using official LG bootloader unlock code (which I did with one of my US998 V30), the trouble shooting tips still help.
Here's why I'm saying that. THAT EXACT SAME PROBLEM you have has been reported several times IN THAT THREAD -- and in each case was fixed. Go to the WTF thread and search for the words: target report. You'll see others who had the same problem and in each case was resolved. SEARCH is often the answer, or maybe going through the trouble shooting tips first.
I have to reinstall LG mobile drivers twice a week, so I laugh when you say no problem with the computer driver.
I just helped someone who insisted it wasn't his computer. Guess what? It was his computer. Actually the drivers with the computer... He tried two other computers, but the wonky LG/Windows drivers finally worked on an older Dell, he said.
i have the same problem but with my LG-US998, i already downgrade to android nuggat and then upgrade to android oreo, and i cant unlock the bootloader

Read my post just above yours for the answer.
Specifically point #2 --You don't say which US998 Oreo you are on (it matters for bootloader unlock).
Point #3 -- You also don't say which of the dozen Trouble Shooting tips from the WTF thread you tried. Hint, try all of them.
Point #4 -- Also you don't say why you posted here, instead of the WTF thread where the instructions are. I asked that question of the original poster when I gave him help.
So, I guess you didn't read any of the answers provided?
Hello, someone who can help me with some screenshots of an LG V30 + LS998 / LS998U Sprint.
Hello it turns out that my phone an LS998U, as it looks for the imei, has installed the firmware of a US998. and in my country it is required to homologate the phones to be able to use it, so I wanted to ask if please if someone with the LS998 / LS998U version sends me these screens:
1. FCC-ID (General> Regulatory & Safety)
2. see the name of the phone (About Phone).
3. and another where you see the model of the phone (About Phone> Hardware info).
Thanks a lot

The pictures are still there, they show up perfectly both in XDA app and in browser (Click to show content). No need to upload them again.

I was wondering, Which Roms have Support for the LG V30+, As I recently unlocked my phone, and it seems as though most are meant for the H930 or the H932, So I was wondering if there were any available to the US998?

Why don't you read the Root Sticky Guide?
It answers all your questions. Start with Post #2. "H93O" is generic name for almost all V30 variant LOS ROMs. Simplistic explanation is they are sort of mis-named and can't be changed. There's a more "technical" explanation, but that will suffice.
Read post #2, point 3:
ROOT YOUR LG V3O!

Glad to help, but I wrote the Root Sticky Guide so people wouldn't have to ask so many questions -- either about rooting or custom ROMs. And yet someone else today dug up some almost 2 year old thread to simply ask how to bootloader unlock and root their phone.
Have my v30+ us998 updated to pie stock rooted already, if I try any custom ROM and have issues and restore back my backup,, will I still have issues?

I don't believe so, As those issues are due to the ROM, and not anything else(Couldn't think of the word), But you should be fine, If you do end up restoring a backup.
Thanks man I'll try some ROMs!!
i have an lg v30 at&t version(h931) and i want to install a custom rom on it. it's still on android 7.1.2 and it does'nt show any updates when i check for updates. how do i go about it?

If you're on ATT, it should update, but if it's not I wonder if something is wrong from ATT's side. ATT is being extra difficult about phones that aren't their IMEI, so your device is somewhat more-valuable if it's truly an ATT IMEI.
You cannot get ATT ROMs online, because ATT refuses to release them. If you still want to update, you can Frankenstein your phone (instructions are on this forum) to US998, and then update to whichever version you want. You could also root the phone along the way, if desired. However, you cannot get back to an ATT ROM if you do this. The phone should work fine as US998 ROM on the ATT (and many other networks)... so it should remain functional.
thank you very much.

also the project treble compatibility, does it come with oreo?
No treble that I ever saw. There was some effort but it didn't seem to pan out. There may be custom roms with it, but I stayed to stock-based because you will need VOLTE/VOWIFI at some point, which custom ROMs don't have.
Ok thanks
