No sim card notification. - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I'm currently using my unlocked S9+ as a Wi-Fi device until I decide to activate it on Sprint's network. Aside from rooting which isn't possible at the moment, is there any way to disable the "no sim card" notification so I don't have to hide it every two hours?

Try this:
long press that notification and app info pops up. click "app info" and disabled notification on the app info.
Not sure if it works, but give it a go.

Unfortunately, it's one of those notifications the system doesn't allow to be disabled.

Can both of you give the setup like whether rooted, using Supersu or other superuser, Xposed installed or not, mode in which Greenify is setup etc?
If you are talking for the toast message, no you can't.

I get the notification only when I unlock the screen. A single notification will list the apps greenified during the autohibernation process. No notifications while the screen remains on.
You just open the phone when the greenify make its magic. It takes about 2-3 mins to auto hibernate the app. You can hibernate them using the widget, action on an icon if you don't like widgets, or with the button that you have for Google search, you can change it to when you long press it will lock the phone and hibernate the apps the same time.

Can't hide cell info notification after MM update

A quick way to hide it (but you won't have even the name of your carrier on top, only on lock screen and notification panel) is to go:
Settings -> Sound & Notification -> App notifications
In there select "Cell Information" and choose "Block all".
With that you'll hide the antenna icon, although I'm not sure if there could be other notifications from that app.

What is the cell info notification? Is it the constant accessing sim one?
I have the same issue. There is no way to disable the cell information notification. Does anyone know how to hide it?
I'd really like to see this resolved as well. I know what mobile network I'm on, I don't need it permanently displayed as a notification.

What the hell is that?
What does that notification do after tapping it? (or holding and then tapping the "i" icon) ?

The only way to remove that notification is click on force stop but after to restart the device, the notification appears again in status bar. The option to block all notifications is not available as you can see. It's really annoying!
Maybe it's abvious, but try looking for it in the "all apps" and disable it? (Hopefully it won't drop your signal)
EDIT:
If you are on 6.0, look for it in "system apps".
EDIT2:
Gah! Sorry, I see that the disable option is unavaliable.
Anyway, is your phone branded? Or did you install a stock rom?

I've already tried to disable the app but that option also is not available because it's a system app.
" com.sonymobile.cellinformation.notification"
There is no such app on my 6.0.
I'd just try installing stock 6.0 (or 5.1.1 and update)

Maybe, that is the reason but we are not sure. I only know that Cell information notification is extremely annonying and sony must give us a solution as soon as possible.

It's a matter of software customization. LATAM version does have that (at least the generic one does). And it is annoying as hell. Especially since that notification doesn't really do anything. It's just there. Anyway, EU versions do not have that. Not sure about the US versions. So just go ahead and flash another firmware. That should fix it.
Also, I'm not sure Sony will give us any solution to this, since it's probably intended. But you can always contact the devs at Sony and ask them if they can implement an option to disable that notification in future updates.
The only solution right now is to force-close the app through Settings. The problem is, I can't find any way of doing that through any commands. ADB shell doesn't seem to allow a force-close in the same way it happens through settings - it is just a "kill" that regenerates the app shortly after. Thus I can't seem to figure out how to make it an auto task in something like Tasker with an ADB shell command.
Is there a way we can automatically make a macro action of some kind, of opening settings, scrolling to the appropriate areas, and force-closing the app upon startup? That would be an okay workaround for now.

I guess flashing another stock ROM to permanently get rid of that is too much?

no progress getting xposed to work on lollipop?

I recently upgraded to lollipop and want to remove that pointless carrier name in the top left corner of the screen. if xposed still doesn't work, is there another, similar app that does?

Settings->Display
Here you will see "Display Carrier Name" with option to turn it off. Turn it off and you are done.
Might as well turn off the "Display Network Speed" too while you are here.

You should be able to go to settings in your notifications, and toggle vibrate to off.

How do you stop annoying Android System notifications

Hi. I keep getting this notification that a launcher I'm using, called Unity Launcher, is displaying over apps. It's actually supposed to do this so I can, while using an app, launch a different app. Very nice for multitasking. Even though I gave the launcher app permission to write over other apps, Android System still continues to warn me about this. Is it possible to disable this notification. Hopefully without root. Thanks!
It doesn't seem like you can...
Following this guide: https://www.howtogeek.com/325193/ho...over-other-apps-notification-on-android-oreo/
Things are missing. You can "disable" it, but it will still show when you pull down the notification bar...
This is actually the default way for me, it doesn't show in the status bar but does show in the notification bar when you pull.
Edit: Try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.autonotification
It works.
Just go to "Notification blocking", tap the +, enter "in the background" or, in your case, "displaying over" and hit OK.
The notification is now gone.
Edit 2: watch the ad to unlock full version.

Hi. Yes I have that app but I wanted to block other notifications besides "running in the background".

Notification won't go away - displaying over another app

I installed an edge app since I really liked that feature on my s7 edge, but now it get a notification when I pull down from the top.
There is a notification there that says the edge app is displaying over another app and I cannot get rid of it. I can delay it and make it go to sleep for an hour, but I cannot dismiss the app.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm using a program called AutoNotification from the Play Store and it gets rid of those annoying Displaying over other apps prompts.

I have tried that, but it still shows enabled.
I hold down the notification I want to get rid of, then select the setting cog (by swiping right or left), which opens up the android notification panel.
I find the notification that I want to disable, "edge screen displaying over other apps" and select. I turn off all the notifications but it still shows enabled on the android notification panel. Would you know how to turn that off?
Thanks for your help.
