I purchased the "2017 New Arrivals BestoU M9S TV BOX All APP Fully Loaded Quad Core Android 6.0 Smart Set Top TV Box" off Amazon.ca
I could not find any posts on this specific model and hoping someone had the same one as mine to point me in the right direction.
I am familar with the Amlogic Burning Tool found here.
to upgrade firmware using @Xannytech guide found here.
But my main concern is bricking the device obviously. Can anyone confirm this on there M9S ?
Attached are 2 photos of what the box looks exactly like, and what the default system launcher looks like (called S8WinLauncher.apk)

Did you try flashing the new ROM? Same as you I'm looking for an alternative ROM for this device.
Just to add, I found that firmware for the TX5 Pro box works great on the M9S X1

By mistake I wiped / format my MX E-M6 Amlogic AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box.
With in the "Recovery Menu" now the box has no firmware on it, showing
only a green android logo on startup. Do some body have this firmware image or can
can provide information or link where to download the stock firmware image.
The device came preloaded with Android Jelly Bean v4.2.1.
Please help I am very desperately an sad!!! Thanks in advance.

Even though long time has passed, do you still need help?
I unbricked my AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box (1gb ROM /8gb RAM model g18ref Media Box) with speciad SD card which has to be made under Windows XP, included some rom files etc on it and it recovered everything, and rooted it.

hi friend im new to this,i have a mx box but i tryd to change the settings on the box itself to support my hd tv but now i have lost everything
cant belive it...all i get is a black screen on tv and blue led light is...is it tottally dead? if not what can i do?

Hi, I bought a Kaiboer M6 while I was in china and I noticed that it was supplied with YunOS and can't run anything including KODI. make matters worse, it is a Chinese only YunOS, can't even change the language on it. Kaiboer is not helping at all. It seems that the M6 has ATM 7039S ARM Cortex-A9 but some websites say it has the Amlogic chip AML8726-MX, so I was wondering if it is possible to change the OS on the box from YunOS to Android 4.2.2 or better? I may be a noob, but I wonder, how you think, that a S805-based ROM would fit on a S905X-device like the M9C Pro.
Maybe I don't know something that you know, this is why I ask you to explain it to me.
I'm sorry, if I got anything wrong and I would also be happy, because that would mean, that I learned something new and that I would be able to give this ROM you suggested a try.

Hey guys
I have a m9c pro 4k box it came with android 6. Great box now I'm having problems. It is showing the mbox boot screen. I have an apk that I setup to load on boot and play the last program it was left on but I can't see anything because the mbox screen is there. The fact is I had set up my sdcard in it to as internal memory completely forgot took the card out to lend a friend he formatted it and now that is what is happening to my box when I reboot it. I need help.. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction. Problem with this box is that it has a reset button but it only works to load firmware from an SD card. I am trying to do the firmware update myself as I have done so with other Android systems. Can't find m9c pro firmware anywhere. I understand though that I should be able to load any s905x firmware. Help needed. Thanks.

Any luck? I have an S905 and I'd like to get to systemless root with Magisk. ( but my box came pre-rooted)
I just bought an M96X like we can find many with 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM, based on the AMLogic S905x.
My question here is, what recovery and rom are available for this box? Searching on XDA or other search engines only brought me to https://forum.xda-developers.com/android-stick--console-computers/amlogic/recovery-twrp-3-0-2-0-touch-recovery-t3454549/post69826769#post69826769 which states that it doesn't work.
Also am I right in my understanding that all M96X boxes like this one, this one and maybe even this one which is not advertised as an M96X are really the exact same hardware? If so, will there be any difference in software?

can also support an android tv rom?
I think the hardware could support it (at least performance wise)

I have few questions regarding Allwinner H616 OR H313 boards?
1) Does anyone have rooted firmware for Allwinner H616/4/32/Android 10 or H313/2/16/Android 10 ? If yes, plz share it.
2) Does Allwinner support rotation? If you have this support in firmware, plz let me know.
3) I could not find any setting in X96Q or X96 Mate to change device resolution to 720P (not even in display setting,AUTO also does not work for me).
4) Is there any way to change boot logo and boot video in these devices?

Philips s410j tablet. Recovery page reads BMXC N107/ N107. it's MTK MT6762 processor. I know that it is a China manufactured device rebranded as Philips. 4GB+64GB. Anyone knows where to get the stockrom or custom ROM. I had seen some posts talking about firmwares available at jlinksz ftp site but it does not open. Any other place to look? Thanks
PS: Just opened it. Easy to open, just remove 3 screws. It's written X107 inside all over. So googled it and found that exactly looks like the X107 T-bao tablet sold on AliExpress. So, I guess an X107 stockrom should work as well.
tried to flash with jlinksz x107 firmware. downloaded but doesn't work. so obviously NOT jlinksz.
